Out of all the laundromats I've ever tried in my life, this one is my favorite. It is spacious and has tons of washers and dryers. My clothes came out brighter and cleaner than they've looked in a while. The location is also convenient as it's in a shopping center and you can get a coffee or a slice of pizza while you wait. The washing machines only take 28 minutes which is amazing. read more

A nice friendly neighborhood Laundromat that I can drop off or do myself which today on my day off I will do myself and maybe socialize with the other patrons . Plenty modern washers and dryers , easy to use machines and payment is simple with card . Seating area while you wait and did chit chat with a nice lady and dozed off a bit when no one was looking ( just kidding ) . Machines do a good job cleaning and drying clothes and it's important to use grade A detergent as well. I've been coming here for about 2 years now. This is my regular spot to go to. The ladies that work here are super sweet and helpful, there's a change machine and detergent / fabric softener for $1 each and most importantly ITS CLEAN! I have been going to this laundromat for over six years and they have delivered nothing but perfection. Always gets my laundry done in a reasonable time and price is always standard and fair. Just recently, I had a scare where I thought they lost my clothes when I myself lost the ticket and did not search the place thoroughly enough. When I contacted the owner he was extremely sympathetic and instead of brushing the issue aside the owner, Andrew, woke up at 3:30 am the next morning to go and look for my laundry!!! The laundry was there the whole time and it was my foolish mistake. Glo Brite, Andrew, and staff have completely earned my trust and have gone above and beyond to be organized, diligent, and hard working. I recently moved and there are other laundrys slightly closer to me but I will continue to go here because they are trusted and reliable. Nothing but high praise through and through. read more

I just moved to Astoria and did laundry pick up and drop off with them 3 or 4 times and the guy seemed pleasant enough. Then today he called and said he was outside, I said ok give me a couple minutes and he started screaming at me on the phone and hung up on me. When I calmly asked him not to yell at me he screamed "YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YELLING IS". It was extremely bizarre and out of nowhere. Andrew is reliable on a level you don't see anymore. I text him to see if I can get a pickup and he tells me 15 minutes and he's actually ringing the bell in 10 minutes. There's no waiting around. Prices are good, everything is folded nicely, and he works around your schedule. They do pickup and delivery Mon-Fri and he works until 3pm, but does early pickups so you can plan it out before heading to work. Keep up the great work. Last year or so, this was the least expensive laundromattte in the neighborhood. It was cheap and quick. Couldn't beat it. BUT they got new machines and increased prices and they dont seem as clean. Now it is at the same price as any other laundromattte in the neighborhood, and does not amenities that other laundromatte offer (ex: wifi, seating). Recently I did my laundry and when I went to fold, a large clump of black hair fell out. I have light haired and it for sure wasn't mine. I have had my clothes come out with piling from something papery left in the machine (I check my pockets for items before washing) and soapy from another machines overloaded wash running into my rinse cycle. read more

The best service I have found in the area! I have skin allergies and need to use my own detergent and nothing else for washing my clothes. Although I have requested this at most of the laundromats in the area (and even put a tag on the bag requesting this) Glo-Brite is the only location that has never messed this up. I've had my laundry done here once and no complaints about the quality of the laundry! The way it goes is, you call, if they don't answer, you text. Did that the first time, he picked up my laundry, dropped it off the next day. This time I called, got the voicemail, so I texted to ask what time he stops picking up since it was already getting late in the day, and the response he sent flabbergasted me. I let him know how awkward it made me feel, and that I won't be using his service again. There are too many other free pickup and delivery places for an attitude like that! The messages are screen shotted in the attached picture, but they were: Me: "Hey how late do you pick up?" Him: "Hello I pick up laundry from 6am to 4pm monday to friday. Please don't start texts with hey. I find it degrading. Thanks" ?!? No...thank you for pointing me right to Astoria Cleaners! 2 stars for the decent job on the first laundry run, but minus three for the crazy attitude. read more

Before I met Andrew for delivery laundry services, I called different laundry facilities every month because I couldn't find the one that I really liked. One laundry facility totally stained my favorite sweater and other t-shirts I liked. Then I called Glo-brite for a service and met Andrew. I've been going to him for 3 months now and I can really say he's a higher standard. His service is excellent, he's always available and responses are always prompt, and has a very friendly and smiley attitude every time. One time, he realized he gave me the wrong laundry bag and within 5 min he called and said he'd come back to give me mine. It wasn't a big deal at all but he was so apologetic and promised to do my next laundry on him. I compiled a pretty hefty load of clothes with shoes and blankets this month and sure enough, Andrew is a man of his word, despite of how hefty the load it was he didn't charge me not even a dime. Believe me, customer service is exceptional and He always puts his clients as a priority. I hope to continue to do a great business with Glo-brite for many years. read more

I've been using Glo-Brite for about 6 months now. Andrew (the owner) is absolutely phenomenal and the pick up/drop off service that he provides is second to none! I used a couple of different laundromats prior to finding and Andrew, it's absolutely a night and day situation. I text Andrew in the evening and he always responds no matter what, the following morning Andrew arrives at the agreed time (to the minute- extremely punctual - I live on the 3rd floor with no elevator, door to door service is provided no matter what). The following morning Andrew brings my laundry back clean, smelling good, and folded. He definitely runs a tight ship and providing an impeccable service is something that you know you will receive when using Glo-brite! Not mention the price of the door to door service is cheaper than most places that have you drop it off on your own. read more

Today was the straw that broke the camels back. The $1 wash machines are not worth the ravenous people itching to do laundry, removing your clothes from the washer or dryer prematurely. Twice I've had an employee or random stranger literally stop the washer so they can put stuff in, and leave my dripping, still soapy clothes in a basket. Today my clothes were taken out of the dryer and thrown in 3 separate carts. I live not even 2 minutes away. So in between putting my laundry in and it being done, I go home. I set a timer so I can be back 3 minutes before it's done. Today, I paid for 40 minutes of drying time on two dryers. I was back in the laundromat with what should have been 5 minutes before it was done. Low and behold, for the third time, my clothes were strewn about the place in 3 carts. The carts were not even near each other. I don't take inventory on my clothes that I bring to wash, so only in the next week or so will I notice if anything has gone missing. Its either the employees, who literally don't give a shit about anything (they take up the majority of the folding tables, 100% of the time.) Or the animals that live in this neighborhood. Either way, I will never return, and will advise my friends and neighbors to stay far away. read more

Andrew and Glo-Brite Laundry are fantastic. I've never used a laundry service before, but due to a very busy travel schedule at work, it became a necessity. QUALITY: Washing is excellent, and clothes are clean and folded well. They will use their own detergent, or you can provide them with your own if you prefer it. CUSTOMIZATIONS: I have several items that I prefer to hang dry. No problem. I separate them out, and Glo-Brite washes them and sets them aside on hangers so they don't go in the dryer. PICK-UP/DELIVERY: Outstanding. You can call or text the night before and he will put you on the schedule right away to pick up your laundry. In my case, this was often very early in the morning (5:30am) to accommodate my work schedule. CUSTOMER SERVICE: You are treated like you are his best and favorite customer. Reading the other reviews here, I realize that he gives five-star treatment to everyone. PRICE: Reasonable and competitive. Give it a try - you won't regret it! read more

In other words, they make my life easier because I can always trust them to do all the work for me. One less thing I have to worry about. Here's how it goes: I request a pick-up, usually within one minute I get a confirmation, then it gets picked up and my clothes comes back (all of it) clean, smelling nice (the good stuff), folded, sorted if need be, and usually the same day (if we request a pick up in the AM). Today was the first time I used Glo-Brite Laundromat. I have been using the laundromat near my apartment since 2008. Over the last few months it has really tanked, and I have been looking for a new place. I HAVE FOUND MY NEW LAUNDRY SERVICE!!!!! I called this morning and spoke to Andrew who was friendly, polite, accommodating, and incredibly lovely. He offered to pick up my laundry in 15 minutes, to which I jumped for joy! When Andrew arrived he was so very friendly and explained when he would be able to deliver (tomorrow morning) and how I am to pay for his services. He was also incredibly accommodating regarding the garments I prefer to air dry. He even asked if I prefer on a hanger or folded to be laid to dry at home. At about 2:30 this afternoon he reached out and asked if I wanted my laundry today! OF COURSE! It was just dropped off and it looks and smells amazing! My husband's clothes are not wrinkled and disheveled. My clothes look and smell beautiful! I have definitely found my new laundry service. I couldn't be happier to have found Andrew and Glo-Brite! This place is fantastic. Dare I even say, life-changing. Who has time to do laundry, especially when you work late hours, don't have a washer/dryer and have lots of gym clothes and work clothes to wash. Andrew to the rescue. We can text Andrew the night before, and he'll be at our front door at 6:30 am to haul off a bag of dirty stuff, and the next day, at 6:30 am, like magic, our stuff is washed, folded and smelling fresh and clean. Although I originally felt ridiculous sending out my dirty clothes to be washed, not having to deal with laundry has been seriously amazing. In the mornings, the owner is there, and I find him to be very nice. But, it's his employees, the laundry ladies, that keep me coming back. They are so sweet and kind that I continue to support their establishment. Also, they fold my laundry like MF machines. Color me impressed. I'm new to the city and finding the time to do laundry is impossible with my job! I trusted my fellow Yelp reviewers and tried Glo-Brite and I could not be happier! First, I received a pick-up that works with my early leave for work. Andrew was on time and polite, he asked a little bit about me and made me feel very comfortable to leave my things with him. Within my laundry, I have a few things in delicates bags, stuff that was old or I didn't want getting torn, he listened to my explanation and then assured me that it would be taken care of. The next morning, right on time, there's my text from Andrew! He remembered my name and the brief conversation we had. He handed me my bag of laundry and it just smelled clean! The total was unbelievably low and when he said it, I was blown away. Looking at my laundry, everything is nicely folded, smells great AND my instructions were followed to the letter. Between hosting four visiting girlfriends last weekend and waiting for our building's washers to be serviced, my fiancé and I found ourselves knee-deep in laundry. I called Glo-Brite after reading the rave reviews and Andrew came to the rescue! We had sixty (60!!!) pounds of towels, bedding and clothes washed, neatly folded and sorted by type & person promptly delivered the next morning. After putting everything away, our bedroom smelled like a Downy dream :) We generally try to be as frugal with our spending as we can, so laundry service is one luxury we had typically reserved for dire situations. However, the time we saved for a relatively small additional expense, the quality of service we received, and Andrew's personable and professional attitude (which I must say, is imperative when doing business in your pajamas) have made us reconsider ever doing laundry ourselves again! read more

I've been dropping off laundry every week for almost three years. I was very happy until recently. I have had so many knits (tee shirts, cardigans, etc) come up with holes in them, it's unbelievable. They're in random places all over my clothes. I have probably thrown out ten items of clothing in the past two months. I showed a friend the holes, who instantly recognized them as being caused by a washing machine. Apparently overstuffed washing machines can cause little holes in clothing, who knew? I just called Andrew for the first time (after one too many major issues with another local spot on 31st St) and he was WONDERFUL. Despite a tight schedule today, he heard that I had the flu and needed clean bedding, rearranged his schedule, picked up my laundry in under 10 minutes and had it back two hours later (earlier than promised). So, one of my new year's resolutions is to give back more to the Yelp community which I rely on so heavily, so to start it off, here is a review on the laundry service I used Yelp to find. Very simply Glo-Brite is amazing, I started using them a little over a year ago after a series of terribly inconsistent experiences with other Astoria Laundry mats. I use Glo-Brite for both delivery and drop off and sometimes a hybrid (i.e. drop off a bag at the laundry mat and have it delivered to me the next day or vice versa). Delivery - Andrew (the main delivery person) is fantastic, I typically communicate with him via text message but if he is going to be late or is stuck in traffic driving, he has on occasion called me to explain what is going on and his communication is always clear(text or phone). What I really like is he starts early, that is I can wake up, drop him a text to request pick-up, have my laundry picked up and then the following morning do the same and have it dropped off before I even step foot in the shower! I have also found the time from text to pick-up or text to delivery is always very fast, now I will point out I live 1 avenue and 10 blocks away so YMMV depending on where you are located. Delivery Side note - I believe their delivery/pickup hours are 6am - 4pm so if you are looking for nocturnal pick-up/delivery this may not be the best option for you. I think it is important to set this expectation. Drop-Off - the drop off service is really easy as well, walk in the front door and put your bag on the scale, get a receipt with the price and ask when it will be ready. I have many times been able come back the same day to pick-up my laundry or have it delivered the next day if I dropped it off at night. Whether they have picked up my laundry or I have dropped it off, the laundry is always done to my liking (frankly, I am not much of a laundry snob) it is folded well, socks are mated etc. Pricing to me is in line with the going laundry rate but I do feel you get a real value especially with the delivery service out of Glo-Brite. If you are in search of a good laundry service in Astoria I highly recommend Glo-Brite which I originally found on Yelp (thanks other Yelpers). read more

I'm sad to be moving to Brooklyn and can no longer use this pick-up and drop-off service. I've been using this laundromat since December and it's so affordable and convenient you can pay cash or Venmo on delivery. Andrew is great and always responds quickly to your texts. I have a baby at home and they have dye/fragrance free detergent. My laundry always comes home clean, the baby has never had a skin reaction to their detergent, and they have never lost an item. As a person that works late hours in the office, I find that I'm often home after the "last wash" at most laundromats or otherwise too tired to deal with laundry. I had some issues with laundry delivery previously so was a little wary but Enter Andrew at Glo-Brite he picks up and drops off laundry in the mornings with a 24 hour turn around! I have been going to Glo-Brite for almost a year now. This is my go-to laundry spot in Astoria. There are three laundromats within 2 blocks of my apartment, but I prefer going the extra blocks to Glo-Brite. They offer drop-off and pick-up - both of which I have used. I also have washed my laundry on my own numerous times here. If I drop my laundry off in the morning before work, it is always finished when I get home in the evening. The laundromat is always clean and machines are always available. Only once was there not enough open dryers for me, but they quickly accommodated without me asking. Andrew, the owner, is very friendly and remembers names and faces of his customers. The employees are also very nice and always do a great job with my laundry! read more

I am so surprised this establishment received such good reviews. That has not been my experience! Initially when I called Andrew the owner he seemed nice enough. A little strange but nice. I sent my laundry to him a few times and when I got it back it wad only OK. Then one day when I got it back it really wasn't clean, the clothes were thrown in the bag very poorly folded... I reached out and told Andrew nicely and he became arrogant, defensive and then said he would no longer service me!!!! I understand everyone has a bad day but to get defensive and arrogant and say we are done servicing you, NOT COOL!!!! read more

I have been using Glo-Brite for pick-up drop off since March. I am really impressed by the fast, prompt, and easy service. Andrew is your one guy; he remembers your name and your preferences. Laundry is always returned super clean with tight folds. I am surprised by some of the stains they were able to get out.
