Do NOT go here if you want wash and fold. They don't actually care about the folding part and your clothes will be wrinkled. I tried the wash and fold service before and had the clothes folded poorly with the same outcome. I figured it might be a one-off the first time. Went again and said the same thing. Both times I refolded the clothes myself to salvage what wrinkled messes I could. I tried to speak to the owners about it on the phone as I don't like to leave reviews without attempting to have a conversation about it to see what can be resolved. The owner said they are too busy to fold well and that I would need to pay for pressing or dry cleaning. She also said no one else has complained and implied it is only me. Now, I'm a guy who is probably about as great at folding as the next guy, but even I could tell these were just quickly rolled/folded together that they probably would have looked the same if just kept in the bar after drying. I'm just so confused by the owner too. She kept bringing up unrelated things like the costs. I have no problem paying extra if needed. She was mentioning other things rather than what I was calling about. I simply paid for the wash and fold service and know clearly understand this place is not the place to go. They are just ok if you need a place to go to do your own laundry like I usually do, but owners (both the husband and wife) have a way of making you feel in their way every time you are there. The last time I was there the guy was yelling at a Spanish speaking woman who didn't speak English and she didn't know what she was doing wrong. They just are not warm or friendly. If you can go someplace else, just do it. There is indeed a line between being unfriendly and rude and I think they are just use to crossing it. I don't know. So confused by this place. I should have read the other reviews beforehand and can see I'm not the only one who's seen the behavior of the two owners. read more

Absolutely, the best laundromat in the neighborhood. The owners are kind hearted, very attentive and take care of the clothing if you drop it off for cleaning. Alot of space and the back seating area is great when needing to pass time. Machines by the plenty with fair pricing. read more

This place is fine. It's nothing fancy - the machines still all take quarters instead of cards and the seating while you wait is all very old and kind of gross, but it gets the job done. My biggest complaint is that multiple times now I've had pieces of clothing ruined from what I assume is bleach from the customer before me. I don't let my clothing touch anything other than the inside of the machine and I've never used bleach on anything, so it's frustrating to have new articles of clothing ruined. May just need to take an old towel to wipe down the insides first... although I'm not sure if that would help or if it's somehow coming from inside the machines. read more

This is a fairly decent laundromat, but the owners there are absolutely terrible. The previous owners were great, but now that it's under new management, I can't say we'll be going there anymore. The woman that's usually there is so rude. Their dryer wasn't working, and I had already had my clothes in there "drying" for 20 minutes. She claims that she can't help me because I have too much clothes in there, and it is the same amount of clothes that I always have and have never had a problem. Even after moving half the clothes to another dryer, it still wasn't working but worked fine in a different dryer and this woman rolled her eyes at me!!!! This isn't even the first time she has given us a nasty attitude for asking for assistance with the machines. I hate writing bad reviews, but she is terrible. read more

I've been going to this laundromat for 2.5 years now. This place is owned by a very nice couple as well. I have other places that are closer to me, but RMA is very good with service and their dry cleaning is awesome. Their machines all work unlike some others in the area. Been going for years, spent a lot of money. Kept finding other's shirts and undies in my stuff. Has already lost a dress, my husbands coat, and now an expensive dog coat. When l finally asked for a credit for the jacket, was told to go home and check again... um.. why do you think l am here?? No credit given. Stopped going here. Cannot continue to have them losing my items AND not taking any responsibility for it. Owner has small kids running around, my guess is she is distracted and messes up. It's a laundromat. My clothes came out 100% clean and 100% dry. It's expensive if you drop it off for the area. The TV sort of works, dryers are reasonable, and washers range from $1.75 to $3. The change machine only makes change for anything under a $20, so don't count on running to the ATM for laundry $. (Though if people are working there they are happy to change your $20 for you.) It's clean, well lit and has detergent, softener and bleach for sale. read more

Laundromats generally aren't too exciting. and this one proves no exception to the rule. From the street this one in particular looks clean and bright. The price for pound is relatively steep for the Astoria area (.80 / lb- you can find .70 at many other local laundromats). As for places to do laundry yourself, there's worse options. There's a working TV, limited seating. Dryers are .25/10 mins, washers are 1.75 for your standard size one. These prices are comparable to most places nearby. I felt I was discriminated against and it was such an awkward and uncomfortable situation to be in. I asked one of the attendants(female) if they had a bathroom that I could use and she looked me up and down before saying "no bathroom for you". I will advice all those close to me in my community to never give this business any of their hard earned money. This Laundromat at first glance looks like a very clean and nice.... However, looks can be deceiving. I have been going there for years now. Two years ago I got married. So, now I wash my clothes and my wife's clothes at this laundromat. WELL.... this was a big mistake. Over a period of time my wife's shirts began getting little holes in them. When you inspect their dryers... you will notice that the some of the little die-cut circles in the dryer are bent out. I assume this is how the clothes get caught and get the holes. Well, I have told the owner in the past and he does not care. Of course... he is an old guy in Astoria running a laundromat. Now, one of my wife's newer shirts has a hole in it and this will not do!!! I would rather walk three blocks to go to a different laundromat rather than risk getting holes in our clothes!!! It has even happened to some of my undershirts as well!!! TERRIBLE!!! AVOID THIS PLACE!!!! read more

The best part about RMA (at least that's what it says on the outside) Super Laundromat is that it's huge. Clocking in at 50-100% bigger than your standard sized laundromat, you never ever have to worry about all of your desired-sized machines being occupied, even during peak times. But if you do like going during off-peak times, this place has you covered (10pm last wash, 12am close). It's also within a reasonable distance of other places (Dunkin' Donuts, so many halal places, pizza, C-Town, barber, etc.) if you want to run some errands during your laundry downtime. The owners are also very responsive if you ever need any help. Machine prices are reasonable, although I do grumble about the owners recently changing the dryer time from 10 to 8 minutes per quarter. Aside from a having a lounge area (because why not when you have such a huge place), the establishment has no bells or whistles - the machines are a bit on the older side and once in a while have trouble staying closed (but the staff is helpful when this happens), the place has a generic (i.e., slightly depressing) vibe, and I'm convinced the bathroom will be out of order for eternity. It's basically the opposite of The Lost Sock, which unfortunately is now too far from me. But hey, if RMA/FMA is within reasonable distance of you it's worth going to, especially during very busy and very late times of the day. read more

3.5/5.0 FMA is a huge laundromat on Steinway that has great hours and a gazillion washers and dryers. Need to know: +Various sized washers for prices ranging from $1.75 to $5.00. There are only 3 $5.00 ones though. Great for lazy people like me who don't feel like doing laundry more often than every 6 weeks. FYI, those totally fit clothing that's densely packed in a standard sized laundry hamper plus a few bedsheets and pillow cases, in the very least. +All dryers are 0.25/10 minutes. I put about 3 pairs of jeans and a bunch of tshirts/other smaller garments for 30 minutes on medium, and they're 90% dry. I just air dry in my apartment if they're not totally done. +No sneakers allowed in washers or dryers. +Various types of detergent and fabric softener available for purchase at the counter. Not very good prices, a bottle of ~48 oz. Tide is at least $10. +I've never had a problem with washer or dryer availability, and I've gone on weekday evenings as well as before 1pm on weekends. +"Recreation" room available. What this means: "Spanish television/Univision 41 with volume BLASTING" room. I hope you like Telenovelas. I hope you like going deaf while watching them, because that's the experience you're going to get. It would be a nice room otherwise, with it's numerous square tables and chairs, and vending machines. There's even in outlet if you want to plug in a laptop or something, but no WiFi. The laundromat is separated into two distinct large rooms; in the left wing there's also a TV but usually playing something completely uninteresting. It's also pretty loud. There are a bunch of cushy chairs of questionable cleanliness though! And enough tables for folding to accommodate just fine. One problem I had was one of the employees removed my clothing from the dryer as soon as it finished and I was approaching so she could use it for what I assume was a pick up/drop off order. I guess I don't blame her, but I really don't think all there dryers were in use at the time. It was just closest to her. Hm. Last wash at 10pm, place closes at midnight. Not sure how much the pick up/drop off service is, I never used it. If this is your closest laundromat, just use it, there are no problems here. You can also hang out at Dunkin Donuts on the corner, or go get some halal at Duzan across the street, and that's never a bad thing. read more

I would put 0 stars if I could. It seems like there was a change of ownership, and I have to say I am really disappointed with the new people in charge. I would advise not to use this business if you are using their drop off services. I've found clothing that did not belong to me among my things and it happened once that they lost some of my belongings. The worst happened this week, when after taking my stuff back, all the dark colored clothing were stained as if someone used bleach on them. I went there to complain, and was basically told that she could not take my word for it, and that my cloths were already stained, or that since sometimes I do my own laundry , that I must have done it myself. The lady ( who said she was the owner), acted as if she didn't understand what I was telling her ( Asian, assume from China) , which really is BS. All I really would have appreciate is an apology, or at least a refund. Let me know that some of the clothing got stained as I come back to retrieve my bag. Be honest about it.
