The cold going threw you it stops the arthritis I'm in pain since 2004 really it might have started in 2006 but my mom told me to go to a chiropractor in 2004 my neck my back was killing me but I went to get the cryptotherapy and cold sauna and truly it worked went back got back ,the other on for free in highly recommend cold ice water for 11 in this kind of weather hell I bought myself a small pool when it gets frozen in Chicago I don't care how I feel I get my boxers and robe and get in the tub and be there for 11 minutes plus it's helps improves mindset and staying cold showers for 8 minutes wakes me up every morning I lovevthis place. read more

Disclaimer: this review is slightly different since I'm writing this from an employee's perspective. But later on in the review I'll be mentioning the actual store and its' products. PART ONE: In approximately May/June of 2019 I found Apex Cryotherapy on a job application website and applied to their cryotherapy technician position. A few weeks later, I came in for an interview, which (anyone could tell), went well. I was in contact with an employee who we'll call "Jack". "Jack" was also the employee who conducted the interview. He told me that Apex was happy to have me on, and that he needed help setting up the Apex booth at Glenview Summer Fest on Saturday, June 29th, 2019. I got to the store at 7 AM, and helped set up the booth/run the booth until 1:30 PM (6.5 hours). So a week passes. I text Jack a couple times, asking when I should come in next. Another week passes. No response. I text Jack again asking when I'm going to get paid, because at this point, I'm not hearing anything. Jack responds back saying that management cannot take on new employees at this time, and that he'll have a check sent to me ASAP or he'll pay for my work "out of pocket". A little sketchy. 16 days later, I get paid through Zelle (kind of like Venmo) which is really just unusual for a business to use when paying people. Like under-the-table shady stuff. No response or apology from Jack. Simple a text from my bank saying he paid me $50 via Zelle. $50. For 6.5 hours of work. If I remember correctly, when I sat down for the interview and requested $13/hr, Jack nodded and said "we can work with that". Apparently "we can work with that" means paying $7.70 an hour instead of $13. Honestly I don't care about the money. It's the lack of communication So if you're planning on working here, don't. This business clearly doesn't communicate well between people in management, and just from first impressions working with them, they really are struggling with marketing and advertising skills. I mean REALLY struggling. Not to mention, it was honestly annoying to keep having to ask Jack when I would get paid, or when I'd come in next. When I worked at the booth, I was enthusiastic, I worked diligently, and I even asked if they wanted help building their social media and online engagement. This was fully on Apex, not me. ------------------------------ PART TWO: Does it really work? I'm not even going to bother with the name of whatever product it is, but whatever service Apex has for fat loss is 110% a scam. I think it's called T-Shock or some ridiculous name like that. If you've ever opened a biology textbook, taken an anatomy class, or taken a basic class/educational course on nutrition or physiology, you would know that it is a fact of science that you must be in a CALORIC DEFICIT to lose weight (fat). Meaning, you must eat less calories than your body requires in order to lose weight. Therefore, it is, from a physiological standpoint, impossible to "shock" or "freeze" or "*insert random buzzword here*" fat from the body when not in a caloric deficit. Not to mention, cryotherapy still has many, many skeptical results and effects seen in various studies. I won't bother to list them all, but the people running this joint should look into them. To conclude this awfully long, but brutally honest review, save your money. Eat a well balanced diet, exercise, and stretch. You'll see more results with those three things than any wellness gimmick. If cryotherapy actually worked, then everyone would be able to pay their way to a lean figure and zero pain. Clearly isn't the case. read more

First let me say that I have been to three other cryotherapy places in the Chicago area, and this is my favorite. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and the place is bright, clean and comfortable. I have gotten localized cryotherapy and I'm also doing their infrared sauna therapy for rheumatoid arthritis. I would seriously go every day if I could afford it. They have packages that definitely help take the sting out of the price and they're more reasonable than a lot of the places that I have found in and around the north shore. If you're an athlete, you have to check this place out. If you have a chronic inflammatory issue, definitely go! It's just a great place all around. I will definitely be going as a regular. My husband came here for the first time after a strenuous basketball tournament and one of his team mates suggested getting the cryo therapy. He tried it once and couldn't stop talking about how his body felt great after one treatment inside the machine. I accompanied his the second time he went (free offer) after a flag football tournament where he had an injury on his ankle and knee. We went during the weekend and although they don't have a private parking lot, you're able to find a space on the surrounding streets. The staff that work at the store was very friendly and answer all of your questions. Once you check in with the staff, they prep you for your time in the cryo machine. After putting on your socks and rob, they prep the machine for the temperature you want and then you step in. You wear gloves inside and there's a countdown until your time is over. We were there under ten minutes and my husband left feeling back to 100%. read more

I went with someone who had a Groupon and did the cryo-therapy. I work in fitness and am extremely active and had heard that this was great for muscle recovery. You stand in the machine for a couple minutes at excruciatingly low temperatures. The place is a storefront right on Glenview Road. Afterwards I felt no different and I thought it was a waste of money. Maybe other people have had more luck if they've gone more times I wouldn't waste my money on this though. Better to get a massage!!! read more

The person working was very friendly and professional. She answered all of our questions and made us feel comfortable trying whole body cryotherapy for the first time. I tried cryotherapy in Dallas with a friend of mine who is a professional runner. I was scared to try it but in the end it was totally worth it. Fast forward a couple years later, I'm in Chicago and looking for a cryotherapy place to recover faster from workouts. I'm not a professional runner but I thought it would be good for my tall gangly injury-prone runner body. Not only do I feel better and have more energy during the day after exhausting workouts, but I also feel at ease knowing I'm being taken care of by their excellent staff. They adjusted the temperature accordingly and provided extra gloves and socks to ease my concerns about safety (which by the way, it's totally safe...). They also talked to me when I was in the machine to get my mind off the insanely cold nitrogen being blasted on my body. They're super nice and helpful and so I will be coming back and I recommend this place. read more
