I dropped off my completely dead iPhone XS Max with Nic. I'd spent the last weekend watching it get stuck in a pattern of trying to reboot, overheat, and then ultimately die and refuse to turn back on. I expected Nic to tell me that it was toast. From my first interaction with him, I felt comfortable, which is important when you hand over what's essentially become another limb to a stranger in hopes it can be fixed. He is very easy to work with, great attitude, put me right at ease. But even more importantly, he's very talented. Within a day or two, my phone is back in my hands, back from the dead. I am so grateful that Nic has saved me from spending a ton of money on a new phone and cannot recommend him enough.

Turns out the "store" is an office in his home. I needed to have the files transferred from my desktop computer that had burned out its power source to a portable hard drive. The owner, Jim, was able to see me quickly and triage the issue I was having with my ancient desktop. He offered to transfer the data to a flash drive, but I needed to buy a hard drive in the end because there was way more data than I thought. His work was quick, his price was very fair, and I got everything I needed off the original hard drive. Working with him, however, was a very strange experience and he definitely typifies the quintessential "IT" guy. Awkward and not very consistent. I kept seeing signs for "appointment only" at his home and but not on Yelp. When I spoke with Jim he stated that he normally works by appointment. But the hours sign outside his office say M-F 9-5. Ok, strange thing 1. Weird thing #2; every time I tried to actually set an appt., he would simply say "just call me". Even when I tried to REQUEST an appt., he said just call him. So I did and he set an expectation of having the files transferred within an hour. So I took an hour and a half and the files still weren't done. He said it would take another hour and to "just call him". I don't have all day to sit around and keep calling my vendor. That's not what you pay a professional for. Would I use his services again? This is the first place to say they wouldn't charge unless they got it right. With flexible hours and a friendly group of people working there. While best buy was pushing their warranties and wasting my time and money with random diagnoses, these guys got it right the first time. The only down side? They're located in an unlabeled building. Trust the address and go inside to ask for valley computer service. Definitely worth the trouble.
