We have an expensive flat-screen TV that we bought in 2010. It's a Toshiba Regza 46" (cost back then was more than $1000). I love it. The base is better than newer tvs because it's a lot more stable. It finally started getting quirky in 2020. I took it to Coughlin's and they were super attentive and fixed it for about $150 (cheaper than buying a new one). My spouse uses it and wanted something bigger but opted to keep the repaired and working Toshiba as a backup. We sure needed it. Bought an XBR800H Sony 55". I had it on, turned it off for a little while and turned it on but the screen was a light black and power was on. Thank goodness I remembered Coughlin's. Since the Sony is more of a computer than a tv, I didn't know if they'd be able to repair it. $175 a few days later and we have the what was a $600 tv working again. I loathe loathe loathe Sonys. I swore I'd never buy another decades ago. But I forgot ... This time, I told my spouse to remind me not to buy a Sony and I will be reminded if I touch another Sony again. But Coughlin's will be around to fix it when it stops working. I like the shop, the price, the dogs, the employees and the owners. It's funky old and fabulous. Knowing that most electronics are built with planned obsolescence, and that current similar TVs are much cheaper now than what we paid for ours, we wavered back and forth over trying to get it fixed or just buying a new one. I hate unnecessarily adding to landfills, so we decided to call Coughlin's. They were honest and upfront about everything from the start. They charged us a reasonable fee for pick-up and return, which would be applied towards the price of repair. They weren't able to find a new board for our older TV; Dan said he could try to fix the current board, but that there wasn't a 100% chance of success. Fortunately, they *were* able to fix it and get our HDMI ports working again. Yay! When they returned our TV they made sure that all the HDMI ports were working properly with our setup before they left. Hopefully this has added at least a couple of years to the life of our TV. Dan did say that when this particular set came out it was a top model. And they never tried to sell us a new set instead of trying to fix our old one. I appreciate their honesty and great service. We will definitely go back to them when we do need to finally replace our TV. Thank you!

That was back in 2000. Since then, I've gone thru many individual upgrades of av receivers, dvd recorder/players, even projectors, etc and now, in my 80's, its time for them to come back out and make sense of what I did to their beautiful system. Hope they'll agree to do so, what with new technologies like 4K and region 2 dvd capabilities, I need them to make my new components 'talk' to one another. After consulting with my local High-End Audio Store, I wasn't happy with my Customer Experience, and their complete lack of flexibility on $30,000.00 plus components purchase. I discovered Stereo Barn was not only an Authorized Dealer of the top brands, but could also handle repairs to audio gear that usually needs a return trip to the Manufacturer. After an in-depth consultation, I had some components sent for repair, came to an agreement on a trade-in and ordered several new units. My new equipment was delivered, unpacked and set up. The delivery was a 5-Star experience by a super-friendly Gentleman who took his time, answered every question, and even fixed an annoying issue I was living with, that I couldn't figure out on my own. He then took the almost 100 pounds of packing material and pallet with him. My new system is FLAWLESS, my repaired unit works like new, and the value I received left me with a huge smile.
