By 2:10pm I called the office since there had been no call or update. I was told the tech was out on another hi that had taken longer than expected and he should be able to get to my home "soon." I expressed my dismay at the fact I had not had any communication from the tech. I also asked how long the service would take once the tech did arrive. I was told it would take about 90 minutes. I had already waited all day and now I was expected to spend another 90-120 minutes waiting for the tech to arrive and perform the service!! I found this unacceptable! I said i would need to reschedule but would need a morning appointment time. I was told they could come the next day, but, once again, I would have to be available between 8:00am and 2:00pm!! Lo and behold, Omar from Desert Air and Heating got back to me within 10 minutes and said he could come to my home in 2 hours!! At first I was skeptical, having only 1 review on Yelp. I went to Google and there were 11 reviews. ALL OF THEM ARE RIGHT ON! First, Omar kept in touch with me as to when he was on his way. He was here at the ETA with his son Joe as a helper. He immediately got on the roof and spent 15-20 min diagnosing the problem. He came down, we offered both of them cold water:), and showed us photos of our unit and all the readouts they took as the unit was running. He told us exactly what the problems were and what he needed to do to fix our unit. More amazingly, he had all the parts on his truck!! The entire visit took about 2 hours on this sweltering day, where the roof was easily over 120°! Omar is such a nice man, along with his helper Joe. He's well spoken, describes exactly what and how he diagnosed the problem, and explained why and what we can do to maintain our system. We are definitely having him do our twice a year maintenance. Not only so, but the refrigerant in my a/c unit was no longer a legal replacement in California, should leaks occur there. The motor bearings were becoming noisily worn as well. The solution to my septic plumbing ordeal began when I called Cisneros Bros. in the middle of the night meaning to leave a message, but surprisingly, after several calls (accidentally called several times in my stress) an actual person answered the phone. Nicole (who answered) must have guessed it was urgent even if after hours. The next day, I met Nathan Knapp who walked me through every single step the crew would take. (Thank you crew!). I was helping my parents with this -- their septic tank broke into a foul river of waste in their front yard. Neighbors called the city for help, we were cited to fix things immediately, and almost $18,000 later it has been fixed. I could not pay ANY company this amount without understanding what in fact they were fixing, how, and the different options. Apparently for many decades, we were not meeting city codes (we didn't know until this septic tank disaster). The cheaper options to "fix" the septic mess weren't really an option because the city citation did not allow the cheaper fixes, but also because we truly needed a major fix. Nathan and the crew (Jeff, Victor and Rogelio) were super hardworking at pumping out the tank and Victor luckily spoke Spanish who could better explain things to my dad. It's hard to pay a bill like this, but I recognize the value of it -- it was necessary, and I really don't think it would have been cheaper or done better by others. We passed the city codes with flying colors and we don't have to worry about a sinkhole or wastewater mess. So glad to have have a brand new seepage pit, new outlet lines etc.!
