Global Mall is a mall with a bunch of Indian shops. Ranging from clothing to jewelry to food to household items, this mall is essentially a one-stop shop for all your Indian wants and needs. I have been coming to this mall for 15+ years, and I have definitely seen it grow from what it used to be. It tends to be the most busiest on the weekends, so keep that in mind. Most of the stores are also closed on Monday as well, so just be aware of that. The mall has a massive parking lot attached too, so you'll be able to find parking. There is a food court as well that has 5 different restaurants you can choose from, and then there is another restaurant downstairs where you can have lunch/dinner. As you would probably guess, the food court options are all Indian as well as the restaurant downstairs. I definitely recommend visiting Global Mall if you ever find yourself wanting to be transported to India without having to take that long flight. I went to two different food shops in this mall and both were not good. Chinease dhabi is overpriced. They charge $19 for an under filled box of rice and 7 pieces of shrimp soaked in watery gravy. Just not worth it. The only thing worth getting to consume at this mall is the mango lassi. Very tasty and sweet. Otherwise I wouldn't buy food here or at the other shops. read more

Place always seems empty with a lot of the stores closed but at the same time, I enjoy going. I am by no means an indian expert but they seem to have pretty authentic things and their food court is interesting. They seem to have a ballroom they use for events which looked very pretty when I passed it and a grocery store with items you may not find in your regular store. I love this place. Its a Mall with all Desi shops (Desi means people from Indian Sub continent). As soon as you enter the mall, you will get the feel of India. Global Mall is a two-story, indoor, Indian/South Asian shopping mall in Norcross. It's located just off I-85 exit 99, Jimmy Carter Blvd. The mall is home to many Indian/South Asian restaurants and businesses including retail stores and offices. A temple is located here as are cultural and educational centers, such as a tutoring service and various art instruction (e.g. music and dance), and banquet halls and event space. Aesthetically speaking, the building has a nice main entrance, but that's about it. The mall is dated and feels a bit drab. It could definitely use a facelift, but the look and feel aren't uncommon for an Asian mall. They're just not as nice as American malls. What's nice is the businesses are unique and identify with Indian/South Asian culture. For example, there's a large women's apparel store that sells almost nothing but beautiful saris and a store specializing in cricket sports equipment. The second floor is partially lit by natural sunlight thanks to some skylights installed on the roof overhead. The second floor is where you'll find most retailers and the food court. The food court is the main draw for me. It's not a huge nor impressive food court, but there are several options that provide tasty Indian cuisine that's quick and a good value. If facing the food court, from left to right, the restaurants are: Curry On The Go - precooked foods, North Indian cuisine, halal Mumbai Masala - chaat (street snacks) Dawat Express - Indian-American fusion (e.g. burgers, pizzas, wraps) Sri Krishna Vilas - South Indian cuisine Chinese Dhaba - Indian-Chinese fusion (e.g. curry egg rolls), halal Sri Krishna Vilas gets a lot of publicity, partly because there are several locations in the Atlanta area (Norcross, Alpharetta, Cumming, Smyrna). If you have trouble deciding what to order, most of these restaurants have helpful picture menus. I like Curry On The Go because it's fast and the food tastes good. The vegetable dishes are delicious and the naan flatbread is baked fresh. Chinese Dhaba is an interesting one. It seems to have a following and you *can* order straight-up Chinese food here (with no Indian influence) if you want. Generally, I think the food court options are OK. A good time to visit the food court is during lunchtime where lunch specials can be had. Order a mango lassi (sweet mango yogurt drink). It is delicious and refreshing. I used to come to global Mall as a child. You don't appreciate things as a child that you do as an adult. Global mall is one of those things. As an adult I can stroll him and I am reconnected with my heritage over a simple lunch break. My go to place is always the vegetarian style because they have the best dahi sev puri that I've found in that area. The best thing about global Mall is that it's easy to find and easy to introduce new people to. It's not too complicated and they have all of the basics and all of your hometown favorites. I certainly hope to see global mall stick around for many more years to come and I hope to enjoy many more dahi sev puris in the coming years read more

The most popular part of Global Mall is definitely the food court. They have other small specialty shops, mostly clothing, but nothing quite as enjoyable as the variety of food they offer. There are five restaurants to choose from: Curry on the Go, Mumbai Masala, Chinese Dhaba, Dawat Express, and Sri Krishna Villas. My personal favorites are Curry on the Go, Dawat Express, and Chinese Dhaba. Also, for those who enjoy Paan after a good meal there's the Global Paan House kiosk near the escalator. The food court is on the second floor, accessible by stairs, escalator, and elevator. There is limited seating and the only restaurant with private seating is Curry on the Go, which only has five tables anyway. I would recommend going at an "off hour" so that there's more available seating if that's a worry. The food choices are quality and affordable. The banquet space downstairs, Ashiana, is large and fairly private. I've attended wedding receptions there and have always been pleasantly surprised by how it can transform into a romantic and picturesque place. This is a fun and authentic place to stop in for a meal or a quick snack. It provides a taste of India without trying to appeal to Americans, so you know you're getting the real thing. read more

I'm not going to lie, this building is old. It is dated. It could use a major overhauling. But if you can get past that, the goods inside are quite good. This could be your one-stop shop for all things South Asian. It's an old mall, but it's full of all sorts of colorful things. Everything from a cricket shop (any bowlers among us?), to a temple, to jewelers, beauty boutiques, and some very colorful dress shops for your South Asian formal-wear needs. Not to mention a food court where you can sample any number of tasty things to exploit your tastebuds. When you're done eating, be sure to check out the various shops, get your eyebrows threaded and whatnot. Most of the shops are upstairs. The lower level seems to be mostly event space. The Indian community, in particular, seems to hold some really large events and banquets here. I've only been to one, a celebration hosted by _Khabar_ magazine. It was huge. The food was good. The venue was exactly what was needed. My guess is most people will visit the mall for the food court. This is not a bad thing. The food court is small, but they seem to offer quite a lot. I won't go into the specific options here because those individual vendors can each have their own reviews. But I will encourage you to explore and have fun. Confession: I only come here for the food court. This spot is close to where I work, so it is a great place to swing by when I have time for a lunch away from the office. The food court has numerous options, although I find it hard to branch out from my stand-bys, Curry on the Go and Mumbai Masala. I have dreams of one day trying all the spots. I can't believe there was an Indian mall in Atlanta which I was not aware about. Visited there last weekend and I kinda liked it. Most of the shops are are on the first floor and on the ground floor they have banqueting space and Indian buffet restaurant. Towards the end there is a grocery shop however I found the prices too high as compared to other Indian places in Atlanta. There are 3 temples (religious places) in this mall which regularly host weekly events for all. This mall has numerous boutiques shops which are perfect for picking up an Indian outfit. There is a shop which sells everything required for a religious ceremony. Food court is small however you would find everything from South Indian food to Chinese to North Indian food to street food. I would highly recommend Humpty Dumpty, Chennai express. read more

I've seen Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Esha Deol, Shahid Kapur, & Dev Anand here. It's not longer there when I went there last time to eat Chicken 65 at Chinese Dhaba. I've also gone to Global Mall for the art studio, Plaster Zone. They have private classes which my daughter was talking. Kruti Dance Academy used to be at Global Mall, they have gotten a bigger location since then but I used to love going there to watch them practice. They were on America's Got Talented! I really like this mall. There is a wide variety of stores in this mall. The food is awesome. It is a piece of India in Gwinnett county. There are clothing, furniture, and jewelry stores throughout the mall. There is a travel company and a grocery store on the first floor. There are photography studios and artists on the second floor. They even have free yoga classes. I have been here several times if not to just to walk around and look at the stores and try a new food on each visit. I incorporate the wisdom of fellow co workers to obtain the proper names of dishes to tryout. Otherwise, I would have absolutely no clue what to order (you know what I mean). With all the good foods to partake of I may have to attend the yoga classes soon. read more

Review is for food: So - I've only been here twice -- both times for lunch/dinner Parking is awesome here. It's a huge lot. Space for food area: There are several tables/chairs in the food court. However, it gets busy. I did see several families take over and I couldn't find an area to sit. :( But I came at a peak dinner time. I'd recommend coming before or after a rush. I think there are like 5-6 different restaurants inside Global Mall. Haven't tried them all but the ones I have tried were pretty good. Not too shabby and fairly cheap versus BuHi. What is this place?? That's what I said when I pulled into Global mall with a friend. Global mall, from my point of view at the moment, is a mostly Indian and/or Asian collection of restaurants and shops. From the moment you walk in, there's an escalator that takes you to the second floor that houses the main food court, which is packed with several restaurants, all having a distinct Indian influence. Sadly this is the only exposure i've had with the inside of Global mall so far, and so my review will have to be updated when I come back In terms of the outside, global mall has a private lot that sits off of Jimmy carter, very close to the exit ramp of I-85. There are a couple of entrances/exits to Global mall, with one having access to a red light, great for traffic. On a Saturday evening, this place is pretty slammed, and parking, while spaces are many, are still hard to come by. If you're looking for a cheap transportation to India, Global mall gives you a few glimpses of Indian cultures and should be checked out! read more

I heard about this place for many years. I knew it was a hotspot for Indian spot. I finally had a chance to go the past weekend for Vi's UYE. I was disappointed with the food court. I was expecting to be transported to Mumbai, India. I was expecting this huge food court full of various Indian cuisine with smells of spicies. Nah, it was your everyday food court, and it looked small. The food court is upstairs. They include: Chinese Rasoi Sri Krishna Villas Hot Breads Mumbai Masala Curry on the Go. These restaurants represent different style of Indian cuisine. For example, Chinese Rasoi was Indian Chinese food. And Sri Krishna Villas was vegetarian. I wasn't looking to eat vegetarian. I wanted something with meat. So I went to Curry in a Hurry. They had a cheap lunch special: $5.99 for 1 meat, 1 veggie, Daal, rice, and naan. If you decide to get the goat, it's a $1 extra. It was very filling so I found it as a good deal. The food tasted okay. I liked the Daal. But I always like Daal. I liked their okra. But their butter chicken tasted like it was sitting out for a long time. But for $5.99 I can't complain. The rest of the mall had Indian stores from a temple to Kumon. But I think most non-Indians come here for the food. read more

I've become quite a fan of Global Mall as of late, I'm in constant want of some Dosa or tandoori chicken, not to mention a cold, refreshing Mango Lassi! That being said, it's obvious my favorite aspect of the shopping center is the food court. Everything I've had -as of yet - has been delicious - flavorful, authentic, and tons of variety, and for such a great value (read: cheap)! The rest of the "mall" is a bit rundown - put it this way, when it rains, you'll be seeing a fair amount of buckets placed throughout the space. There are some really cute boutiques filled with gorgeous, South Asian inspired fashion, jewelry, and various other trinkets and decor pieces. There's also a grocery store on the bottom floor, which when I walled through seemed pretty bare and unimpressive. Overall, if you're looking for cheap eats and some beautiful traditional wear, this is the place for you! Otherwise - meh. read more

I want to love this place, but there is much better Indian food and shopping in Decatur. This mall is visibly rundown and the bathrooms are atrocious. It seems that flushing the toilet is a sin in this place and there is no maintenance. There are not enough cafeteria tables, so you may have to snack while standing. I have shopped here, dined here, and went to a wedding event here. It is convenient if you want a one stop shop Indian experience, but it is a letdown if you are in the know of the good places. If you want clothes, jewelry, and scarves at better prices, head to Mirage Sarees or the jewelry shops in Decatur. For food, you have countless snack shops and dining options in Decatur. read more

If you are not of Indian (Southern Asian) or Pakistani descent, you are absolutely NOT welcome at the majority of the establishments in this venue. Rude, lying, staring merchants who could care less about getting a sale. One store wouldn't let my sister and I look around properly. The women decided to "measure" us, it was improper, proceeded to tell me she had absolutely nothing in my size (she 100% did, and lied) and told my sister whenever she saw something that she would have showed her that if she had it in her size. She had it in her size. I had a designer crossbody bag and they looked it AND me up and down. ONLY ONE store actually provided customer service, a lovely small jewelry store that beautiful pieces. I am absolutely DISGUSTED how people of color would treat other POC in such a manner, especially in the south. Never again will I step foot in that filthy nightmare of a place. Went here on Saturday for a UYE. I didn't have the time that day to shop in all the cool looking stores, but will be back to do that ! There were maybe 5 restaurants in their food court. Our hostess, Vi, suggested that we check out the special at the Curry in a Hurry. $5.99, 1 meat, 2 veggies, rice & naan bread....AH YEAH!! That sounds perfect!! Only bummer about my review will be that I have no idea what anything is officially called, server described what was behind the glass, I pointed, and got some good eats! Cafeteria style. Spicy Chicken: YUM! Would get it again. There wasn't tons of chicken in my serving, but enough. I used the naan bread to soak up the yummy broth/stew....mmmmmm.....makes me hungry thinking about it! Cauliflower/Broccoli/Potato/Greens Mixed Veggies in a curry type of sauce, it was very good. Ok, now, I have no clue what this other veggie dish was called, but it was basically greens with a yellow bean, in a veggie type of broth, that was tinted yellow from the beans...YUM! It's one of my favorite places in Atlanta to have indian food. Also it has my favorite siva temple. We use to visit the mall at least once in 2weeks even though its small what far away from my house. Best place to hang out with friends and family. They have all different kinds of indian food..like one among them is the chat and fast food center,while the other has tasty biriyani and non-vegetarian specials..and the other is famous for its kulfi varieties...we just love the place. read more

Another reviewer called Global Mall "a piece of India in Gwinnett County", and that's a pretty good description. It's a modest-looking place but is well worth checking out. You can find Indian snacks and other dishes that you're unlikely to find at a typical Indian restaurant in the food court, including Indian-style Chinese takeout. There are tons of clothing stores (including one that specializes in bridal apparel), a shop that carries Indian music and movies, and a kiosk that sells herbs. There's even a sporting goods store just for cricket. Fun stuff. You should go. read more

Trying to plan a Pakistani wedding in North Carolina is extremely difficult. We went down to atlanta and went to the global mall, among other places, to find a few basics that are readily available there. We were able to find almost everything we needed including kurtas and scarves. There is a large variety of bangles, etc., from the various stores which came in handy for us as bangles are part of our gifts for guests at the mehndi. We picked up a couple of snacks from the food court area (chicken 65!!! and samosa chaat) and were very happy with our successful (and tasty) trip. read more

It was different... They really mean global. You can do yoga, they have a school, medical office, buy music from around the world, artwork, colorful jewlry and clothing along with food. I am from Chicago and I visit global mall while driving back to my home town ,and we feel like to stop by and have a lunch in the mall ...so we try chinese Dhaba ..from pictures food looks yummy but when we order soup,Chinese bhel,and noodles ..seriously saying I waste my 20 $ in the garbage and shity food .went for complain and owner says well if u go for movie and some how u dnt like movie who u complain u accept it right ..now these is the way to treat ur guest .it would never recommend anyone or visit them again. read more

I visited Global Mall to have lunch, I decided upon MUMBIA MASALA, as I'm a vegetarian. To my surprise the lady at the check out counter was very rude to me for not reason. but very polite to the customers who looked more like her, I'm assuming Indian. Not sure if it was because of my ethnicity, race, etc. I asked for a refund, because there was no way I was going to eat the food, her energy was just too negative, she said NO refund, then she preceded to serve customers who came after me, while laughing w/ the lady from the kitchen. I know black ppl. in this country are stereotype in a negative way, there are bad ppl. in every race, but I never expected such behavior coming from a woman of colour. Her behavior was awful, I was extremely polite to her given her absolutely no reason to behave in such an unprofessional and rude manner. So if you're a non Indian try to avoid this place go to Carry and Go are Chinese Dhaba, the worker are much nice and respectful. Mumbia Masala deserves 0 stars. read more
