My first contact with this company was with Patrick Somerville, (872) 810-3768, Moving Coordinator Global Moving LLC 888-687-7486 Ext. 111. I told him I was looking for an estimate for moving from Aurora IL to East Amherst NY.
He was genuinely nice told me the company's policies, #1 policy was that they do not change trucks when things are loaded on them so that will decrease the amount of damage or the amount of times the furniture would be moved. #2, he stated that the company was very adamant about delivering the purchaser's belongings as stated and updates if things changed. #3, They pride themselves in not using outside sourcing. When I inquired about that he told me that other moving companies will put their trucks on a board, (destination) and whatever company is going that way they will pay them to make the delivery, that will save me money, because they don't have to pay to outsource. I decided to have him give me an estimate on how much it would be. No mention of storage.
Due to COVID-19 they are unable to do in home estimates, so I walked around the house, estimated, and told him everything that I had and measured, mention that I had packed some things myself, I mentioned I had antiques and the estimate he gave me was $2498.75, that was on 9/17. He did call me back and said he had made a mistake and he would be sending me a new document, with a new price to DocuSign.
Days before they were to arrive, I called to ask a question about packing. Christy told me I didn't sign up for a "full pack". I inquired about a "full pack" and was told that they will pack everything, (dishes, valuables, and anything within the limits of what they can't (flammable liquids, alcohol). She told me that it would cost another $250. I agreed to that.
That is when Doug told me that Patrick Somerville was no longer employed at their company, and he was unable to contact him regarding the quote.
When I received the 2nd quote, I noticed the charge was over $600. The 2nd quote was for $2773.20
My belongings were picked up on 10/30/2020, the driver was given a Cashier's check for $1386.60. A second cashier's check of the same amount was to be given to the driver when belongings were delivered.
Doug Pihlgren x 102 was very rude, never answered the phone and refused to give me any updates. He told me that my belongings were in storage in Chicago. I questioned that because storage was never mentioned. I asked why they were in storage when they were to be delivered, his rude answer was, "would you rather have us leave your belongings on the curb?"
sent a text message to Christie on 11/5/2020. As you can see delivery
would be in 3 to 5days.
That was on 11/5/2020. I received my belongings on 11/26/2020, Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Only after I paid out another $878.
I could go on! I have filed a complaint with the attorney general already, and they are sending it to the Federal Motor safety carriers, and register a complaint with OIG..
MY ADVICE IS DO NOT BELIEVE THE WONDERFUL REVIEWS ON THE INTERNET. read more
