UPDATE Global Optics: Two days ago a 2nd, Global Optics MDU post-wire technician came to my apartment to complete the cable hookup. Daniel did so good a job I am raising my company rating from 2 stars to 4 stars. Daniel located a difficult-to-find cable under the ceiling, installed when the complex was built in 1986. He somehow made the wire live again, then split it off from the box in the bedroom, and brought it through the wall to the living room where it located perfectly to plug into my desktop computer. Daniel restored my faith in Time Warner Cable's judgement hiring Global Optics. Today the TWC Installer came for the modum hookup and his job was easy. Horrible and dangerous company! This morning I was getting ready to open my back door when a man's pant leg caught my eye. I could barely see him or the four other workers in my backyard because they were toward the far left corner. They were hanging Global Optics wire for Time Warner along the telephone poles and were therefore cutting branches that lined the perimeter. Did I receive a knock on my door or any type of notice that their company was doing work in my backyard? NOPE! This is a huge safety hazard because I own a 180lb Neapolitan Mastiff who would have ripped them to shreds. In fact, that was the reason I opened my back door. Luckily, the workers pant leg caught my eye seconds before and I was able to stop my dog! How did I know it was Global Optics? Well, NOT because of any identifying uniforms. I had to trespass onto private property and look at the logo on the truck so I could call and ream them a new one! Why bother to call? Let's say my dog did bite, drag them to the ground, and inflict irreparable damage. Wonder who would be sued? ME and my MY HOMEOWNERS INSURANCE. I could have lost my house and everything that I've worked for because of these workers. To think, it can easily be avoided if the company would simply knock of people's doors the morning of and say, "please keep pets inside because we may be doing work in your backyard". And let's not forget about the fact that they left my gates open after fence hopping to the neighbors yard. Again, had I not seen them and I let my dog out, he would running around the neighborhood because I would have no idea my gate was open or how it got that way. Then I could have been cited for "failure to maintain my dog" and fined massive amounts of money. In all, this company is not safe and if I ever catch them on my property again without prior notice I will calling the police and having them removed for trespassing. read more

Worst contracting company to deal with when it comes to cable installation for Time Warner Cable... Not only was I having to deal with an Idiot of a contractor (Jose V. - I won't spell out his full name), but... The dumbass kept talking over me about construction going on and him not being able to do his job... After attempting to explain while the idiot wasn't listening that the construction was not on the side of the house but the back end. If a person doesn't want to work, then why even show up. At first, I gave him leeway for being 1.5hrs late... But, after him being incompetent, rude, and lazy... I just finally decided to tell the guy to leave when he became upset bc I asked for his first and last name. If you see them rolling up, call Time Warner and get some other guy there; otherwise, you will be dealing with the same stuff I dealt with. What makes it even worse, the Time Warner employees were also telling me how bad and poor of a company these guys are. If they feel so strongly about it, why even have them around. read more

I cannot believe that Time Warner hires this company. The technician never showed up at the house and then he wrote that he could not have access to my gate when he claims he showed up. This is a lie! He never showed up and he never tried to call me. This company needs to shut his doors and Time Warner Cable should fire them immediately! read more

Horrible service form the Richardson, Tx location. Supervisor decided it would be better to drop my service than to let me use the hardware i had from my previous install. I did in fact cancel my service. 2 days later I had someone from Spectrum come install again (since global optics ripped out all their previously installed cable) and they let me use my previous hardware, and apologized for Global Optics peddling misinformation. Avoisd this company at all costs. read more
