Right off the bat, I started working in the exact profession I went to school for! I want to give a huge shout-out to the four amazing veterinary assistant professors at both the Fort Lauderdale and West Palm campuses who taught me everything I needed to know and the staff at finance and careers who did amazing at explaining and facilitating career retention

I enrolled because I was excited to pursue nursing, but instead of receiving the support and communication I expected, I was constantly left chasing answers. The lack of communication was unacceptable. Emails and follow-ups often went unanswered for weeks, and I was repeatedly passed from one department to another without anyone taking responsibility. It felt like no one cared about my education or future. I was withdrawn from the program after already investing significant time, effort, and money. Since then, I've been trying to get clear answers regarding re-entry, tuition, and financial aid, but every conversation seemed to result in conflicting information. One person would tell me one thing, while another would say something completely different. What made the situation even worse was continuing to make payments while trying to resolve everything. Instead of working with students to find solutions, I felt like I was left to figure everything out on my own. For a school that advertises supporting future healthcare professionals, the level of organization and student support I experienced was incredibly disappointing. I expected professionalism, transparency, and accountability. Unfortunately, my experience was the complete opposite. If you're considering HCI College, I strongly recommend asking detailed questions about communication, financial policies, and student support before enrolling. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this school.

Given the volume of positive reviews for this school, I expected a structured and professional…read morelearning experience. What my wife received was not consistent with that standard. She prepaid for three lessons. Across the first two, very little substantive instruction was provided. The majority of the material was deferred until the final session, where it was rushed through all at once. That is not an effective way to teach a new driver. The larger concern was the instructor's approach. The instructor, Luis, spoke to my wife in a way that felt more like scolding than instruction. When she didn't immediately understand something, he would repeatedly ask, "Do you understand?" in a raised, urgent tone. When she made mistakes, he told her, "Your problem is that you don't listen!"--which is not constructive teaching. During a follow-up call, Luis acknowledged that he raised his voice, but described it as a "command voice." Regardless of how it is labeled, that approach created a pressured and discouraging learning environment for a new driver. A three-point turn was demonstrated once, with the expectation that she would immediately perform it. When she struggled, instead of reinforcing the skill within the lesson she had already paid for, the conversation shifted toward purchasing additional lessons. She came home visibly upset after the session. That should not be the outcome of a paid instructional environment. We contacted the school to resolve this directly. The only solution offered was a discounted additional lesson--effectively asking us to spend more money rather than addressing the quality of what was already provided. Given the number of positive reviews, I hope this is not representative of the broader standard. But it was our experience, and it's worth being aware of.
