i came with a friend of mine about a week ago. i will be honest the only reason they're getting three stars is because of mary's talent with nail art. i won't lie to you im extremely disappointed how quickly this nail set shit the bed. 1. i had matte nails and my accent nail on my left hand was done with a glossy finish. 2. within 3 days i had chipped part of both the top layer and the acrylic nail itself. 3. it's now been a full week and i have lost half of an acrylic. 4. my matte black toes look like shit because the person doing them couldn't have cared less whether or not there was a drip mark. 5. i have not been walking excessively and yet my heels still feel like sandpaper after a $70 pedicure. maybe it's just me and i haven't had my nails done in so long that i don't know the quality of an acrylic full set but the fact i paid over $200 (no tip included) and these barely lasted a week tells me that gloss is over hyped and over priced. just something to impress the lake wylie moms. read more

Some people techs are great and some not. My issue is when you make an appointment it's never on time or they try to stick you with someone else. How about if you have an appointment coming in you don't assign them and make the person without wait. I don't mind 10-15mins as people get behind but I waited over 40mins past my appointment. The reason for appointments is to not spend 3 hours here. It's one of the only places open Sunday which is why I return but I'm going to start looking. I love a few of them and won't be returning unless I can book them. You should think about how you retain customers that have been coming for years. And your warning on your site about appointments might not be on time, might want to say you will wait as if you don't have one. read more

I came in for a pedicure and ended up addding in a SNS with tips. I got chrome done on my nails and Tommy and Kim took their time and did an excellent job. This is the second time I have come and will be back. The ambiance is nice and everyone was very friendly especially during the holiday rush! read more

The Gloss Nail Bar has customer service perfected on top of attention to detail with their nail services! I walked in an hour before close on a week night and they were able to get me in right away despite being very busy. They immediately offer you a snack and drink and have a ton of polish colors to choose from. They offer everything from regular manicures to gel and dip (SNS) polish. My manicurist did a great job of doing a thorough job and making sure I liked my manicure throughout! I will certainly be returning to this spot in the future when in town! read more

Then another 5.00 to cut my finger nails down, never had to pay for that before!! They were not even cut down to be noticed. I've been here a few times. It's always hit or miss. 2nd time that the Nail technician cut me. (1st time was a while back when he cut my nail way too short & caused it to bleed.) Today, a gal was rough in trimming my cuticles. Busy talking to the gal next to her and clipped the skin below my nail. It hurt. She scrambled to stop the bleeding... which took a while. This is a walk in salon with poorly trained young girls booking at the front desk. After multiple visits, patience and grace I won't be going back. Do not book an appointment with someone and expect to get the person you book with or for your apt to be on time (20-30 minute wait with apt, maybe longer sometimes) even on week days. Do not book for special occasions or you'll be disappointed. Using their booking system online doesn't mean you'll get who you book with. Calling is even worse because the receptionists aren't trained in customer service or how to book accurately. Also my daughter had an infected toe nail after a pedicure. They need better staff training for booking and to start honoring their apt times. The girls at the front desk do not care and the manager does not attempt to correct issues. He flirts and jokes with the young ladies who come in but is aggressive when you ask questions or raise concerns. Take your money where you and your family are respected and valued. read more

So today me and my friend came in to get our nails done around 12:15. Everything was going good, we got sat and everything. 12:40 roles around and the lady who was doing my friends nails was not good at all. The false tips she glued down were popping up, globs of acrylic on the nail, uneven cuts, cuts my friends fingers. Then she started filing around 12:50-1. Around 1:40 she was still FILING my friends nail. It does not take 40 minutes to do that. Not only that but she kept getting up and doing other things. So with that, another person ended up finishing her nails. we ended up leaving around 2. In the end, they look very good. I just want to say DO NOT go to "gol gol" . read more

If I could give Gloss Nails zero stars, I would. This is a walk-in nail salon. They accept appointments, but do not honor them. Every time I make an appointment, the technician I made an appointment with is either not there or not available to do my nails. And service is slow. It typically takes three hours for a mani & pedi that would take two hours anywhere else. The owners are aggressive and unwilling to accept any sort of responsibility for errors made on the part of their staff. The staff is unprofessional and minimally trained. On my last visit, the technician that was randomly selected for me because the technician I made an appointment with was not there, cut me no less than three times while doing my pedicure. The owner did my manicure in a very rushed manner and it looks absolutely subpar, especially considering their pricing. The prices charged are very high for the quality work performed. I don't mind paying more for better service, but this is not the case with Gloss Nail. I will not be returning. read more

I have been coming here since moving to the area in March/April, and have almond/oval shaped nails. I have NEVER been charged more than the regular $48 for an SNS service... until today. They told me they were charging me an add'l $5 for "shaping". This makes no sense because my nails are natural, already shaped, just long. The manager lied and said every person charges the same. That's a whopper if I've ever heard one based on my personal testimony, as every person clearly charges differently. They keep your name in their "rewards system" so they can absolutely look up your past purchases and see that they do NOT charge consistently, as I was told they couldn't. Based on other google/yelp reviews they answer you, and have shown evidence of this capability. To charge a customer to cut down your nails and file them is just bad business, as it should be part of the service. I will happily take my money elsewhere. I highly recommend you skip this place and go elsewhere too. read more

I recently moved to the area and was looking for a new nail bar. I noticed Gloss and decided to give it a shot despite the reviews. I got a full set, coffin style, dip powder plus manicure for which I paid $70. My nail tech, Tammy was great, despite the constant upselling to get a more expensive service (I made an appointment for a gel manicure and ended up with acrylic.) Had the quality of the work held up, I would've been happy. But less than a week later, my nails were pulling off the acrylic, one split right down the middle and the establishment only honors repairs within 5 days for a service that's supposed to last at least 3 weeks. To anyone considering a visit, save yourself the disappointment and go somewhere else. read more

There's no reason to make an appointment, because you will go in on time and the tech that you are scheduled with will take other people without an appointment while you wait . They also charge you to cut down your nails, which again is part of the nail service and not an extra charge . I do an acrylic fill with gel polish and it costs almost as much as the SNS powder which is ridiculous. I went in on Friday and the owner did my nails. He was talking to his child through FaceTime for most of my appt . He didn't remove all of the previous gel polish , never smoothed out my nails , didn't shape them correctly and didn't polish the sides of my nails . Needless to say my fill in which is 3 days old looks more than a week and the polish is looking worn off . I left with polish on my skin and staff that could care less if they lose business. read more
