This review is coming from someone who doesn't leave reviews unless it is truly earned. Gloss Nail Bar earned their 1 star review today. But let me say if you don't want to read my detailed experience then just trust this review and DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANT YOUR NAILS DONE WELL. Expensive & horrible customer service.
I went in to get a pedi & mani. First got the pedi and got a basic pedi with regular paint. He asked if I wanted gel after I told him regular and I said no thank you it usually doesn't stay longer one way or another for me. Being friendly even tho it was strange for him to ask after I said what I wanted.
The man doing my toes did not speak English well at all. I asked 2-3 times what he said. But that's beside the point. The color was honey yellow. He starts painting my nails after he finishes the 4 minutes of doing the actual pedicure. When he starts the first layer of color it appears to be a little dryer than usual; chunky. He stops for a second and tried to shake it hard to loosen it then proceeds to paint it on unsuccessfully. He's shaking his head a little bit like he's frustrated, and I don't say anything. He keeps trying but it is not even or smooth on the nail, so I say I'm ok with getting a different color. He shakes his head, keeps going and says that's why gel is better. I keep watching him try to finish with the clear coat and I say sir I'm sorry but that's not working and I'd like to change colors so it is done well. He acts frustrated and not really acknowledging the fact that it isn't good and that I should get a new color. So I pick a new one and he tosses something into the sink under my feet. Frustrated, he rubs off my color and walks away as I wait 5 minutes or so for him to get it and come back.
When he starts on the new color he does the base coat and then immediately does the color. It goes on better but he is rushing. Not taking time for the layers to dry. The manager speaks out to him that he has another customer as he seats her a few seats beside mine. So he's flying. He finishes and my toes were HORRRRRRIBLE. The color was darker and lighter in different spots. Not one solid color. It was NOT done well at all and this is a service!! He didn't care how it turned out and didn't take pride in how it looked for the customer. He said you're done and grabs my stuff and takes me to the front to get my mani. I'm standing there looking at my toes in disbelief hoping someone can see what I see. I tell the man who's about to do my nails to look at my feet. He bends down to look and touches the big toes and it messes up the paint. I guess to see if that was what it looks like after it dries? But it wasn't even close to being dry. Idk but he says on no. Again doesn't speak any English and just kinda looks at me.
I had been there for over an hour and knew I couldn't go back there to get it done AGAIN. So I tell him if he could just take it off because I don't have time to do this all over again and I can't believe this is the service they are giving!!! So he takes it off and I told him thank you but I'm not getting the manicure. Why would I get the next service if the first was HOOOORRIBLE. They aren't cheap either.
He manages to get out that I come back and he will do it personally for me for free. I asked his name and said thank you and walk out.
As I'm walking out that man chases me down as I'm about to my car and says to come with and speak with the manager. I go back with him and talk to the manager at the front thinking he wanted to hear about the experience. Ha! Jokes on me.
He said you need to pay for your services. (I saw him talk to the guy who took the color off my toes so he knows that I had it taken & why I had him do it).
I said I did not have a good experience AT ALL and your employee did a horrible job with a horrible customer service job. He said well you still got what you wanted. You got your feet scrubbed and toes done. You cannot leave without paying for a service. I was totally taken back. He said it is $35 but I'll take off $10.
I was honestly lost for words but did not want to make a scene. I'm so easy to work with and understand people mess up, but there was no apology or excuse for this type of experience and poor customer service. I paid the $25, regrettably.
When I left, I felt so cheated and gave away $25 to someone who did not care about their customer. That's why I'm here writing this.
Biggest regret of all, I didn't take pictures to show how incredibly bad my toes looked. It would be all you'd need to see to NEVER GO HERE AGAIN after reading my experience.
(Side note, my friend went with me too and her nails looks horrible too lol. We were supposed to go together but she was 20 minutes late and didn't get a pedi just a mani.)
Times are hard no doubt but it's sad if you think you can get away with doing a horrible service. read more
