They offer wine and give you a little shoulder massage after. They're also open late which is great for people like myself working 9-5. As someone new in town, I decided to try Glossy 130 Nails. I was a "walk-in" and was attended to quickly, which I appreciated. Tina did my pedicure and she was wonderful--very friendly and did a great job. Unfortunately, my experience with the gel manicure was very different. Elina did my manicure, and while she may have been having an off day, she was not very welcoming and barely smiled or spoke during the service. More concerning was how aggressively she used the e-file to remove the gel polish. At one point I actually flinched because it hurt. I left feeling disappointed because I was really hoping to find a good salon close to my new workplace. I had read many positive reviews before visiting, which made the experience even more surprising. Three days later, one of my nails broke vertically. The following week another nail chipped, and today yet another nail broke. This has never happened to me in the many years I've been getting manicures. Today's break was the point where I decided to finally write a review--something I rarely do, and I have never written a negative review for a business before. It's really hard to rate the experience because there was good parts but the breaking of three nails is unacceptable. I do want to mention that the manager, Steve, was extremely nice and attentive. Great experience here at glossy. Good clean, positive interactions. Love how they have a front counter and greeter to welcome you in and direct you. They were able to take me in as a walk in and I really appreciate that they are open after work hours. I had Shannon for nails and she is the best. Very easy to talk to and kind. She did a great job. I also got a quick polish change. In and out with a gel mani and polish change in under an hour. I like how they have a drying station too! Makes me feel less prone to messing up my nails which is great! Easy location and easy parking. Would be back if I lived in town. read more

The owner Steve is always super friendly and always thanks you for going . The atmosphere is nice and pedicure chairs are all new and fabulous. I have been going to this salon for 8 years and they never disappoint. I am not a nail connoisseur by any means, but I've gone here for pedicures 6-10x per year and they always do a great job. The atmosphere is friendly and professional, they offer free water while your service is done, and a cute birthday song if you're celebrating. This was one of the best nail experiences I have had. I went with my niece (8yo) and sister. We were able to be seated relatively quickly for a walk in on a Friday for two gel pedicures and one kids gel manicure. When we sat down, they offered my niece a massage chair and us grown ups complementary wine. They continued to check on us to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. They even let my niece use the water in the chair so she felt included. My niece wanted French tip with flowers and they did such an amazing job she was jumping for joy! Have gone here before. This day was particularly busy. They buzzed off my gel and weakened my nail beds because they didn't want to give time for my nails to soak. Polish lasted three days. Nails were cut very uneven. I ended up taking the polish off, filing my nails and repainting three days later. Not my best experience. I went in on Sunday at 11:00. Popped into Glossy 130 Nails & Spa by chance. My nails needed done, but I wasn't keen on making the drive all the way down to Countryside. On a whim, I turned at Glossy nail and went inside. Almost immediately I was take to a seat, a gentleman named Deon started to work. He commented on how shiny my current nails were (the other place does great work.) and asked what I was looking for. I want the SNS Dip Polish and was given a display of colors to choose from. Once I chose what I wanted, he started to work on removing the old nail polish so that the new could be put on. He really didn't let the nail polish remover sit on long so there was a lot he had to remove via dremmel. Once the color was off, he set to trimming and shaping my nails. He was very gentle and kind while he was working. He made sure that I was happy with the length and the shape. The last time I left that up to the technician, this time I asked for a specific look. When he was done, about 45 minutes in total, my fingers shone prettily in the light. A sparkly blue that will look fabulous for my friend's spring wedding. read more

I had high hopes for this nail spa. Unfortunately, as with most walk in situations I got a bad tech. I ended up fixing my toenails a day later. I kept watching how good this older nail tech was doing with someone else's feet at the end of my row. She was doing such a great job that I almost wanted to tell my nail tech to stop and let me wait for the other tech to finish...but I wanted to give her a chance...and I regret not being bolder. My tech was taking the whole time, disinterested in my feet, didn't cut my nails correctly, didn't buff my nails, and the hot stone massage I paid extra for sucked. In giving this chick who probably isn't talented the benefit of a he doubt...I really wish these nail techs weren't worked to the bone where they just don't do a good job on everyone who walks in. Everyone always seems so helpful whenever I go in (which has been a grand total of twice). The first tech was not my favorite - she cut my cuticles too low, made me bleed twice, but she was friendly and painted well - it was Shellac $25 - it lasted a full 2 weeks, so yay! The second time was the S&S/dipping powder - $40 for that with or without tips. Glass of wine is a bonus! $20 for a standard pedicure. Pretty fair prices all around. read more

Not bad, not great. The Pedi was mediocre at best, not to say the place is not worth a second chance, just sense that not all nail techs are created equal. In looking around you can almost pinpoint who is tier 1 and who is tier 2. My pedi overall was just ok, I'm willing to accept a great foot massage and an subpar pedi or vice versa, but I have a hard time accepting two subpar services. Unfortunately my recent visit happened to be the latter. Rubbing lotion on your feet and calves is not the same as a massage. A little elbow grease can go a long way, I'm certain that most customers (especially men) would agree with this. I will say, that mini back massage at the end is a great touch indeed. If anyone is a regular and knows who gives a fantastic pedi here. Please share the name so I can give them a try on my next visit. read more

I didn't have time to make an appointment at my usual spot. Based on the positive reviews (which I am completely perplexed by), I ran in to Glossy where they took me immediately. The tech did not introduce herself to me but was mostly friendly. About ten minutes in she introduced me to Norman who was apparently taking over my service. After a few minutes of him getting situated and discussing my pedicure he, instead, left to work on another client who had just walked in. So, the original tech came back. Bizarre. The tech offered me a bottle of water. When I went to open it I discovered it was already open. So, I did not drink it. The tech's foot "massage" was awful. She kept putting her fingers through by toes. This hurt. She did it repeatedly despite my cringing. There was nothing therapeutic, relaxing or comfortable about the "massage". The tech did not use a base coat or a top coat. Just two coats of polish. I will not be back. read more

Absolutely awful! Went in for a deluxe pedicure and gel manicure. Within a few minutes of sitting down for the pedicure, the nail tech cut my big toe too deep cutting into my foot. She didn't say sorry, she didn't try to take care of it or cleanse the area either. She just continued working like nothing happened. After the manicure she rubbed the cuticle oil all over my hands, leaving them covered in oil. Aren't they supposed to use lotion? The salon overall seems like it has gotten very dirty as are the tools and materials. They don't look like they've been cleaned. I used to remember them opening packages of tools from the sanitizing device they have, but it seems like they don't do that anymore. Will definitely not return here! read more
