What a relaxing time I had here today! Intrigued by the $25 lash extension service, I decided to have all my spa services done here rather than go from place to place. Kay Nails is very no-frills but very cost effective. There was music in the background and two tvs playing. My only complaint was a sports channel was playing for a good amount of time I was there, which was distracting and somewhat irritating. It was eventually changed to HGTV and house-y shows, which is still somewhat irritating but easier to tune out. Can you tell I'm not a big tv person? ;) Karen did my lash extensions and waxing, which included underarm, half leg, and a Brazilian. She was very attentive to my level of pain and was confident when pulling off the wax strips (which ensures it hurts less!). Karen also trimmed my lashes after I requested that they be a bit shorter closer to the tear ducts, making them look a bit more natural. I'm not sure of the names of the people who did my regular pedicure and gel manicure, but they both worked at the same time in tandem with one another. My gel manicure came out absolutely fabulous, the gentleman who did it was very meticulous and communicated well with me throughout the process. He even took pains in showing me how the colors looked ON HIS OWN NAIL first before applying them to mine. Overall I am very happy with my visit here and would recommend it to people who are looking for good work. read more

Well, I booked for my friend and I to get our nails and toes done at 2 o'clock. And at two fifteen, we got pedicures that took over an hour, and my one toe is jagged, and it was seventy dollars.I do not recommend this place at all.We did not get our nails done.Because they are so disorganized and they were sitting on their phones instead of doing our hands.I'm glad I didn't get my hands done by them. read more

If your unsure where to go, LOOK NO FURTHER! THIS IS THE PLACE! To start I am a sensitive person and a lot of nail places smell to strong for me and it's hard to be there for the time needed. But this place manages the smells well! It was clean, neat and very welcoming. This is the first place in a long time I felt so taken care of the whole time. I had the most amazing experience today at Zen Nails & Spa. It is a newer business, so they are still working on signage. It was next to a Mexican Restaurant, in case that helps anyone. I was able to walk in, but appointments are encouraged. My nails were done by one of the owners. She is detail oriented and I got EXACTLY what I wanted. The design is barely raised from the rest of the nail. Soft and comfortable atmosphere made me happy and at ease. read more

I just relocated here and found this unassuming, newly opened beautiful nail salon on my way to Traders Joe!! The experience was awesome as the new owner, Ivey, was meticulous and the salon was clean, aesthetically relaxing, and the air was very clean!!! Loved the overall experience and I'm definitely coming back for sure. I had a manicure, brow and upper lip waxed. Plenty of parking. Make sure you call ahead or make a reservation on-line. Natalie is my go to nail technician! She leaves my nails looking fabulous. I always have the exact shape I want, the length I love, and the color is top notch. The polish lasts forever and when I come back for a fill, my nails still look brand new. Highly recommend for any of your mani/pedi needs. My husband has dealt with Lee for pedicures and he was highly impressed. She took her time to make him feel welcome and less awkward. All of the employees here really take their time to get to know their customers and clearly shows with the amount regulars you see stopping in to say hello. read more

Went in without an appointment and they got to me very promptly. The woman who owns the salon was incredibly nice throughout my entire experience, even though she had to stay late to finish my nails. I ended up getting a gel manicure instead of my usual dip due to the design I wanted. She was very knowledgeable and had a wide array of options and techniques available. My nails ended up absolutely perfect, one of the best manicures I've ever had. I'm so glad I found this place as it's now my go to nail salon. Sorry for the questionable pic, but it's the best I have to show what a great job she did. Just ignore the dry looking stuff around my cuticles as it was just leftover residue from my previous dip and came off after a few hand washes. read more

Where did Karen go? The only reason I went here was because of her. Key word: went. I called to make an appointment with Karen and I was told she was on vacation but didn't know when she was going to return. While there, I asked about her again after I noticed the normal workers were no longer there. Yet again said the same thing. I don't believe them. I feel like they were just lying to get a paying customer in the door. One of Karen's other clients was in there having a bad experience too. My friend and I had 5pm and 6pm appointments, respectively, with the lady that was taking on Karen's clients. My friend stood around 15 minutes and was never told how much longer it would be. The lady started someone's pedicure just 5 or so minutes prior her appointment. My friend left while I stayed since I was already getting a pedicure. The menu changed and prices went up. My toe nails look un-filed and I still had some loose skin on my toe that wasn't scrubbed off. Because of my schedule this weekend, I stayed for my acrylic nails; otherwise I would have left. My nails look very poorly done. They don't have the shape I asked for. The lady was giving me a hard time because of how short I wanted them, along with how far down I wanted the french tip in glitter. She stopped working on my twice to go help two other people. Told me to soak my fingers in the acetone. I don't like doing that as it dries my skin out. I left with glitter all over my fingers and had to ask twice during the ordeal to clean out the glitter that was left where the pink needed to go. I don't plan to return. read more

Everyone there is very friendly and while they are fast and accurate, they take their time and don't ever make you feel rushed and are great and fitting you in on last minute appointments. Called ahead to ask if they had time for a pink and white fill...the lady said yes. The white part on my nail was extremely dingy which usually comes out with a fill. She only filled the pink part and when I asked to fill the white she said she didn't have white that matched...hmmm I doubt it. She rushed through the entire process and needless to say my nails look awful!! Lumpy and bumpy and the white is still dingy and not fresh looking. Why tell me you have time just to rush through the entire thing. So disappointing and I have yet to find a nail spa in pinellas that lives up to the reviews. If you have any standards at all I highly recommend you don't go here!! I haven't left a bad review in years!! Rant over. read more

My mother and I wanted to try a new nail salon and Kay's nail salon was in a convenient location,and we walked right in without an appointment. The technicians were courteous and friendly. We had pedicures and basic manicures. The rates were very reasonable and we have never had a better pedicure! They took their time and did it right. As soon as I walked in I was welcomed and offered a bottle of nice, cold water. The cost for my fill-in was only $30 which is less than I've found anywhere else. The selection of gel colors was amazing and included some very pretty cat's eye type and metallic tones. Do not go here! Wanted a french mani/pedi and it took this girl an hour and a half and my mani was so bad that another girl had to fix it. Turns out she was just licensed Jan. 14, 2019! They have no heat lights to dry your nails, only a little fan. Most places I've been to do your mani first, not them! It's worth the extra $10 to go somewhere else!! NEVER AGAIN!!! read more
