She verbally told me the agenda for what they're going to do for me today, and explained everything thoroughly each step of the visit. Walked out with a nice goodie-bag (tooth brush, floss and tooth paste), and new education how to properly take care of my teeth. I've been to many dentists, and this has been my most positive experience. Each interaction with every staff member, including Dr. Ibrahim was personable and they really take care of you. However, I do not have to live with them, I have had to live with the smile that I am left with. The plan was to replace my bridge, give me a removable tooth to fill a gap, crown another tooth, and then a mouth guard. The bridge is clearly slanted, and at just 3 years old, is falling out (insurance companies will not replace before at least 10 years). The insertable tooth to fill a gap, never fit even after going back 3 times to have it adjusted, it never did fit (paid for, never used) I used insurance and put the rest Care Credit for the bridge and tooth, and crown. I also gave them $1000 to put as a credit on my account to use toward my mouth guard. This was not a deposit, it was not required, I asked them to put it on my account, so I did not use it on something else. After the debacle with my bridge and that damn tooth, I was done. I called several times to get my money back but never received a call back. I am regretting that I did not file suit like I was advised.

I was going to have a couple of old root canal teeth removed and really wanted to find the right dentist to do the work. I made an appt to talk to Dr. Tiralosi about what I wanted to do and he took the time to explain, very patiently all the options. Never once did I feel rushed as I asked many questions. They accommodated me when I needed to reschedule in December. Just be aware the dentist does not do her own extractions. She has another dentist come in for that, which may be inconvenient. A later x-ray found that he left part of the root system in the gums.

Three stars for the hygienists, which keep changing. I get that my gal wanted to go half time or whatever, so she's out. But what happened to the one after her? I didn't like her anyways because she made my gums bleed all the time. It was as if she didn't have steady hands or she had careless hands or bad vision. She talked so much and didn't pay enough attention to my gums. So I remember asking to be scheduled with someone else other than her. I can't for the life of me remember that hygienist's name. Pretty sure I got someone new to me this past time because i got in on a cancellation. It wouldn't have happened that way except that the office did not respond to my call or voicemail or email. I finally found an old email with their online scheduling and tried to do it that way. That system sucks anyways because all it does is record your preference. It doesn't actually make an appointment. Eventually I got a call back and I was upset! I thought they had closed down because there is no reason to not return calls. I go twice a year and I have good insurance! They do x rays every year and have updated equipment. I like that they do an oral exam for cancer etc. they also evaluate your gums. Pretty thorough place, once you get in. Bonuses: it's completely solar powered, so they're doing their part for the world. Also, they have coffee and bottled water in the lobby. When they send you home, they give you a toothbrush, toothpaste and lip balm! The ladies there are very nice and the dentist is great, albeit talkative, but it's the hygienists that can make or break a place. Update- I've been going to this dentist for five years now. I have changed hygienists multiple times. But I most say, the dentist is so awesome. He gives his honest opinion about everything. He does not try to push you into procedures or Invisalign etc. One time I had a question and he wasn't totally sure. He promised to ask a colleague and get back to me. Sure enough, he got back to me by email. I appreciated his honesty and knowledge of his limits. He didn't hesitate to get a second opinion. That opinion was about the same as his in the end anyways. I always get a toothbrush and travel toothpaste on the way out. The also have lip balm that I keep in the car. They have improved their hours and added another dentist! They have also improved on getting back to me via email or phone when I leave messages. I have recommended my parents to his practice as well, and they are happy. Liz, his assistant was the sweetest ever and made me feel very comfortable! I needed to have a crown done - I have had several in the past so I am familiar with the process. Let me just say now, Dr Hochfelder has mad skills! Lol, really. No pain or discomfort during or after the procedure and my crown is a PERFECT match (which cannot be said of the ones placed by other Drs) I am so glad to have found him and would happily recommend him, not only because he and his staff are nice but because they do such great work!!

The X-rays were way more non invasive than other dental visits in my youth, and the tech was friendly, bubbly, and very careful to make sure I was comfortable. I love that you can see others while getting care, and it's hilarious to make eye contact with someone else while your mouth is stretched like a character from Beetlejuice. I laughed, a lot lol. My hygienist was a sweetheart, with an unmatched bedside manner. But my favorite part? Going over the recommended work (a root canal and cap for ya girl), and seeing the prices and not being forced to commit to anything. When Martha (Dental Assistant) took me back to get my xrays started, she was very kind and explained everything step by step and made sure to check my comfort level with the bitewing xrays each time. Kim, the dental hygienist, then came in and took measurements of my gums. I was almost SHOCKED to hear the numbers she was calling out were not even CLOSE to the ones my last dentist claimed I had. (My last dentist, who I saw a year ago, claimed I have pockets of 5 to 6 mm and that I had bone loss and Dr. Du Lac said she found ZERO bone loss and pockets of 1 to 3 mm in depth (which is normal)). So they got major points for honesty and not trying to make me pay hundreds of dollars for periodontal root scaling and planning. Dr. Du Lac came in and welcomed me and we talked about the things she would be going over. She did a full head and neck exam and checked my teeth to make sure everything checked out and it did. It was such a breath of fresh air to have a dentist that I already felt comfortable with and in addition to that she is HONEST and trustworthy. Thank you so much to Dr. Du Lac and her staff for, in my experience and opinion, the best dentist visit I have had in a long time. They also said that my insurance was really a discount plan, which it was not, it was Delta Dental. I filed a claim with the insurance company and Lake Mary Dental did not even have the decency to respond to Delta Dental. So they just closed the case per State law after 30 days. I would not go there, unless you are foolish enough to be charged for many extra (non-insurance covered items), like mouthwash, liquid before and after a regular teeth cleaning to ease the trauma of a regular teeth cleaning???
