They keep deleting my google review for whatever reason, so I'm leaving this here and wherever else…read moreI can. Coming from a fellow hairstylist, stay away from this place, and most definitely stay away from Brinley for extensions. I hate to make this review but I'm left with no choice because the owner still has not reached back out to me about a refund. I initially had Brinley install my weft extensions. The experience was nothing great, tbh. But what I'm most concerned about is the redness, irritation and hair loss/breakage I've dealt with since getting them installed. The beads were literally stabbing me, and the install was way too tight. I came in a few days after and had another stylist, Sylvia check my extensions out. You could tell that she knew they were messed up. She had to completely redo them. Although it did feel better the first day after, the same issues occurred, but this time I had small scabs along with all of the other issues I previously had, and I unfortunately the pain was so unbearable that I had to have my husband take them out for me with his pliers. I was so sad because I wanted to have them for Christmas, and had spent a good amount of money on not only the hair but the service. Not only did all of this happen, but my natural hair that I was trying to grow out is now much, much shorter, and chewed up looking. I seriously cannot even wear it down anymore because of what these girls did to me. So I come back in asking for a refund, and Brinley is nothing but attitude and cockiness. Stating she is "7x certified" and that it's not her install, it's my "sensitive scalp" that's the issue. Even though you stated before the install that if it ever hurts, it's because it's installed improperly... Hairstylist to hairstylist -- it's OKAY to admit when you mess up, and it takes a good stylist to know when they made a mistake and own up to it. Also, we aren't talking a misunderstanding with color that's easily fixable here.. you cause me physical pain, wasted my money, and YOU RUINED MY HAIR. I think a refund is more than warranted. Learn to set your pride aside!! Now I might be picky, but I've been providing luxury services in salons, and my salon suite for many years now. So I know a thing or two about customer service and how to deal with situations like I had. The prices do not match the work I will be 100% honest. Also, I still don't know how they came up with the price of $400 for my install and toner. When I spoke with Kelly on the phone about my refund, she said my install was $150. So are they saying that a toner and blowdry was $250? That was never cleared up and honestly rubs me the wrong way, because I told Brinley my max budget was $400 and asked her to work around that, and then shes like, okay it'll be $400!! LOL. Customer service is awful, and I'm honestly disgusted with how this place runs their business. Mind you, I don't mind paying for quality work, I first hand know why hair prices are the way they are. I get it. I know extensions are a luxury and they take a lot of knowledge and skill to install, but I did NOT receive quality work. And for me to be a stylist and leave a review like this, I'm telling you, it was BAD. My scalp is still recovering and still hurts when I pull my hair up. Please, please do not waste your money here. It should have been a red flag from the beginning that there were only two stylists left there during the busy holiday season, and that all the others have left.

If you like your face, stay away. I had my brows professionally done and touched up by a licensed…read moreand certified artist in DC area. They were perfect...you could see each individual stroke and each stroke looked like real hair. I had since moved to the Altoona area and was in need of a *slight* touch up on an area that had faded. 1. They would not discuss any pricing whatsoever. 2. I agreed to a touch up. Here's what happened: Kelly dug so hard into my skin that it is scarred. She went over my entire brow and colored over all of my strokes. They are very harsh as you can see in the photo. She then told me I needed a highlight line that would fade into my skin color. These photos are 2 years later. Nope. The ink she uses is junk. It fades like an old tattoo..very gray. 3. She offered to do lash enhancement. I asked for a warm brown. She said no...black is better. It is now also gray. 4. The salon has since undergone a renovation but when I was there it was filthy, crowded, unorganized and left me wondering what my $1,100...yes, $1,100 was going towards. The room she does this work in is a back room with equipment and supplies. I was very uneasy and should have left. I'm sure a response or comment may be made about doing work over someone else's work...I get it. But this is trash. I see Kelly's brows all over town. They're undeniable. Harsh, filled in and completely unnatural. And GRAY. I will also add that I had my extensions done here for about a year. The hair was trash as well and they would charge $500 for a move up and not even wash or style my hair...just ripped them out and put them back in. Stay away.

Overall, the experience was just "okay." We were visiting from out of town and called 2 days in…read moreadvance for 3 manicures/pedicures for 2pm. When we arrived, we signed in and still had to wait 40 minutes until start of service. There is nowhere to sit inside the salon so they have you sit out in the mall walkway at tables/chairs that go with the pizza parlor across the way. There was a constant wait and one lady left in tears (not sure what happened), all I heard is I've been waiting for 2 hours. While I do believe making an appointment helped, it clearly did not stop them from overbooking or rushing services. The pedicures were good, but don't pay for the deluxe ($50 + another $15 for gel polish). The massage and hot stones were laughable. The gentleman who did my pedicure did a nice job and I was pleased with the nails. I had dip with gel polish for my fingers and the lady who did my fingernails did a wonderful job. She was meticulous and I loved the service. The ambience overall in this salon is very busy, the people working there speak their language all the time with very little English, customers seemed rushed through so they can make another buck. The owner, a lady, was starting my gel soak-off and stopped to look up her stocks on her iPhone. Nice to see she had $52,000 in Bitcoin. She could not have been phased by me sitting there as her customer. Clearly, I was not her priority. She was busy ordering others around and checking her cell phone. The salon seems dirty overall. Dust from products and drilling all over things. It doesn't look like things are dusted/wiped down very often. The prices seem high for rural PA. While all their signage says only gel polish is allowed due to COVID guidelines, I feel this is a way for them to jack-up the prices. There's no difference in the use of gel vs regular polish. In fact, my mother-in-law only wanted regular polish and was able to get it. The signage could be updated, or they will leave it to be sneaky to make an additional $15 a customer. There is an ATM located inside the salon and they ask you to use it if you can instead of running a card. Another way for them to save money on services fees. Instead, you pay the ATM fee and give them cash. While I could have said no, I used the ATM just to be done. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of good Yelp reviews for any nail salon in this area. I'm glad my nails weren't ruined, but I wouldn't return and I wouldn't recommend anyone to this salon.

She than soaked off the rest of my powder nails n glued my real nail where it was cut! Bleeding did stop. But 24 hours later and I'm still in pain. Praying I don't get an infection. I will not return to this nail salon ever!
