I don't usually write reviews, but Dr. Erma Braza truly deserves one. She is one of those rare, genuine healers you come across maybe once in a lifetime. There are a lot of so-called "acupuncturists" out there who just go through the motions and make the practice seem like a gimmick but Dr. Braza is the real deal. You can immediately tell she's deeply studied, trained, and mastered her craft. From the very first visit, her compassion, warmth, and gentle energy put me completely at ease. She genuinely cares about her patients not just treating symptoms, but helping you heal as a whole person. Every session feels intentional and customized. It's clear she's incredibly intelligent and intuitive; she just knows exactly what to do to get your body balanced and feeling better. She's helped me heal in ways I didn't think were possible physically, mentally, and emotionally. Two of my friends I referred to her have had amazing results too. Whether it's pain, stress, digestion, sleep issues, or even emotional blockages, she has a way of pinpointing the root and helping you move through it naturally. If you go, definitely ask her about herbal support too. I first saw Erma back in January 2018, because I was 6 weeks out of the hospital, recovering from two strokes - TIA and Ischemic. I was upset and looking for any kind of help to reduce the right side facial droop, unresponsiveness of my right shoulder, arm and hand, stroke fatigue and spasticity. My OT/PT, friends and sources on the internet recommended giving acupuncture a try. On my initial visit, Erma had explained to me how acupuncture works and how I may benefit from it as a stroke survivor. We talked about what my concerns were and my physical limitations, and then she asked me about how I felt - my emotions. I remember being taken aback because no one had really asked me how I felt. I had an extremely good cry, we talked about how everyone responds differently to acupuncture, and then Erma got to work, needling me from my crown to my face, all the way down to my toes. Needless to say, I've been a consistent patient of Erma's, first going from twice a week, to now just once a week, for 90min sessions. My stroke care team is wholly supportive of it as well. Besides, if I miss a week or two, the right side of my body is pissed! But I am so very thankful to have found Erma and Glowing Turtle Acupuncture. I've gotten a lot of acupuncture from a lot of different people and Erma is one of the most sensitive and pragmatic healers that I've had the good luck to be treated by. She is extremely caring and knowledgeable about healthcare and it's obvious that she really cares about her patients. I love everything about this clinic. The sliding scale is so affordable that I can get treatment as much as I need it. The recliners are super comfortable and don't give me that icky feeling that someone else just got out of my chair. There are multiple rooms so it feels more private than some of the one-room community acupuncture clinics out there. From the moment you enter, it automatically does not feel like a medical office. There's a lovely garden in the corner and the lighting is not harsh. It's a very relaxing mood. If you're afraid of needles, Erma will put you at ease. She listens to you and cares how you feel. Erma is simply the best! I have been seeing her every week for 2 months now and it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. She is warm, welcoming and very knowledgeable. I started going to acupuncture with Erma after I found out that I had a large cyst on my right ovary, and my OBGYN said she wanted me to get surgery to remove it if it didn't shrink within 6 weeks. I started seeing Erma right when I got the cyst diagnosis and within 6 weeks of doing acupuncture and taking the recommended herbs, my cyst was completely gone and my cycle went back to normal. I have gone to Erma weekly since September. She was highly recommended to me from another acupuncturist (Erma was closer to my home). Great sign when your competition recommends you! I know my review won't do her justice because she is just simply the best! Erma is incredibly knowledgeable about her craft and puts so much love and passion into it. Plus she is an amazing human being! The environment is welcoming and peaceful, the chairs are SO comfortable, and everything is super clean. Every time I go in I don't want to leave! Erma is very communicative and explains what she is doing and what point is helping what part of your body. She gives other recommendations for health and well being (herbs, specific food, etc). She genuinely cares about each one of her patients and wants us to have the most successful outcome. She asks me questions and will adjust my treatment as needed based on what I am experiencing. Fantastic experience! I did attend my sessions PreCovid, so this review is LONG overdue! Erma really makes you feel at ease. She was very attentive and explained to me all the pressure points that she was working with, and what we were trying to accomplish. I do have a bad lower back and nothing was helping me for the longest time. After 5 sessions with Erma, I definitely felt a release, and the sharp pains eventually dissipated. She also provided a stretching regiment that helped with my flexibility. Erma has a delicate touch, so you hardly feel anything! And the chairs that you sit on are top of the line recliners that you can self adjust to your liking. I can't say enough good things about Glowing Turtle Acupuncture! Erma is amazing!! I am beyond Happy and satisfy with her care. I have 2 herniated discs (L4, L5) which caused an incredibly painful sciatica. I had previously had surgery on it but re injured to the point i was in bed rest for weeks. I couldn't sit, i barely walked even laying in bed was aggravating! My first visit was incredible. I immediately felt relief. Pain level drop from a 10- 11 constant pain down to a 5-6! After a few sessions my constant pain drastically decreased. After JUST 3 weeks my constant pain nearly vanished. Pain level 2_3 and only once in while. If i didnt live it, I'd be skeptical to believe it. Even got my mom going! Erma was genuinely caring, empathetic and compassionate. My hats off to her. Erma offered to give me a free acupuncture treatment after I did something for the community that she read about. She is so nice and knowledgeable and really tries to help with issues that you have. The place is very nice and clean and the reclinerchairs just wonderful to doze of during a treatment. I sent my husband to go see her as well, since he is having pains in his back.
