I texted Nelly that my lashes lifted after 30 minutes of leaving the studio and no response. She just wouldn't listen to me. I paid FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS for everyone to tell me I looked orange on my wedding. My worst nightmare came true. :( Do a trial. All makeup artists should allow it. I kept calling and asking how to book for a trial even after I paid a deposit. I just got my photos back and I could see the patches on my skin. My makeup is usually flawless. Everyone told me it's Lilit's studio and to go but I wish I didn't. I was promised to trust her and that my foundation would last the next morning even. Well it didn't last even for 2 hours. I'll never get that day back. Ever. The eyeshadow was nice, but when your foundation isn't your color and your guests notice it!!!!! For 400.00 dollars.... I just couldn't stop crying after I hit daylight and left the studio and realized it. I tried fixing it, but only so much I could do with time on my wedding.

Mayra was recommended by a family member which I was lucky for. Thank god for Mayra, she's not only affordable but she is one of the sweetest professional makeup artist around and very accommodating. Not only did I get lucky finding her for my makeup, Mayra herself recommended a friend for hair which was perfect! We scheduled a bridal makeup trial a few weeks before the wedding just to get the look I would be satisfied with, which was great. My makeup lasted all day without flaws which I was pretty amazed by since I have oily skin. On the wedding day, she arrived on time, and was super professional. Mayra was absolutely amazing to work with! I was a but nervous since I had a bit of an acne breakout that day and she managed to cover it up completely so you couldn't even tell it was there and it didn't feel like I was wearing "too much makeup." She even put a little mask on my breakout spots while she was working on other parts of my face which helped the acne go away later. I was able to wear the makeup all day and it felt very lightweight on my face to the point I forgot I was wearing anything. I also loved the lashes she choose for me, they were very natural looking and didn't feel like too much. Overall great experience and she was very kind and communicative to work with the whole time. In fact, I've picked up tips from many of them for my daily wear applications! The point here isn't to boast but to emphasize that I can spot a valuable MUA with my eyes closed. I was going to attend a concert for a boyband I'm friends with (98 Degrees!) and had VIP for soundcheck, meet n greet, champagne toast in the dressing room prior to the show and 1st row center seats. To say the least I HAD to look my best especially up against all the other women. I turned to trusty Yelp to find a new MUA and came across Stelliny. As the thorough Elite Yelper that I am, I initially made a list of a few makeup artists with positive reviews and who were nearby in proximity. Stelliny was my #1 choice based on this initial research although she was a teeny bit higher priced ($150 for makeup/hour with $50 deposit versus $120 average for others). However, Stella instantly won the bid due to her customer service. I had initially called a Google Voice number attached to her Yelp listing but she immediately called me back on her private cell. She was patient in answering all my questions and steered me to her online booking. When I had an issue with the said booking system, she was super quick to text solutions and resolve the issues. This rapid response and client care helped aid my choice for her as my MUA. Stelliny makeup services is based out of The Beauty Room LA location in Sun Valley in a strip plaza across the street from Sunland Produce at the Sunland/Glen Oaks intersection. Ample free parking is available behind the building which is a much better choice that the 30 minute street parking alongside Glen Oaks. The back entrance of the salon is super cute with a BOHO style patio area and succulents which extends to the lobby area with displayed crystals, sage and a fake plant wall. The salon is super modern, clean and cute so don't let the location deter you. I was instantly welcomed BY ALL of the staff and didn't have to wait long for Stella to be ready for me. Stella is a super sweet girl but also very professional. She isn't one to be chatty during the makeup service but she DOES ask for your input on exactly what you seek, asks to see any photo inspiration you brought along, lets you choose lip colors, etc. She doesn't just do what she wants and instead allows the client to have a voice. An hour later (it flew by, honestly) and my face was complete and looking fabulous! It wasn't overly produced or thick like Bozo the Clown. My look was glam but was still akin to my everyday self. So basically, it was me but elevated which is perfect because I don't want to feel like I'm wearing a fake face. Aside from just the quality of the application, the makeup itself had amazing staying power. I had my makeup appointment at noon, had to be at the venue at 5 and didn't get home till 11pm. 11 hours later and nothing was smeared, dripping or worn off! Amazing! Stelliny is a wonderful choice for makeup services from bridal to glam, soft glam to events and everything in between. Her authentic zeal and enormous attentions to details led our makeup session pass the clock for nearly another hour. She adjusted my eyelashes multiple times through various techniques to achieve the effect I desired, an effect was highly challenging for the shape of my eyes. She used her creative and innovative mind to make the looks possible on whatever shapes/features of the face by highlighting and shading. The face is like her canvas and each strokes is delicately crafted. In a close distance, the colors are so neatly and cleanly layered. I dare to use the description: flawless photogenic quality.

At first I was hesitant to even go by her because I thought that there is no way that one person can be good at hair AND makeup, but Ii was dead wrong, Analucia can do it all! I went by her for a haircut, a hair and makeup appointment for my cousin's wedding, before booking her for my wedding. She just blew me away each time. I even went to her for a bridal trial for my engagement shoot and knew exactly what I wanted to look like for my wedding day.
