Oh my gosh...I found Meg O'Hare Beauty right here on Yelp when i was frantically searching for a makeup artist to get my face right for my friend's black tie 40th bday party. I reached out via email and her assistant Jenn, who was an absolute pleasure to speak with, took down my details and told me she would check their team's schedules and let me know if they could accommodate me. I heard back within a couple of hours that they could take me! We took care of the final details (time, inspo pics, and the artist assigned to me) and i was all set. I received the location details and instructions for parking a day or so before my appointment, and the day i arrived, Meg was kind enough to guide me into the parking structure at her studio location. Her studio is LOVELY. I was welcomed warmly by Meg and her adorable rockstar pups! She asked if my mom and I were ok with them, and OF COURSE! She was SO COOL! I can't say enough good things about Meg and her entire team. Beyond accommodating and easy to work with and made our wedding day just so extremely relaxed. An admitted flaw of mine is that I am extremely type B and indecisive, while simultaneously wanting the best. I dragged my feet throughout all aspects of the wedding planning process - especially when choosing vendors, but after chatting with Meg on the phone I knew immediately that she was who I wanted handling hair and makeup for my wedding. Everyone in my bridal party raved about her work and I felt like a literal vision with my hair and makeup. Both the big picture and little details were just so meticulously well done, for example I had my makeup trial only a couple days before my wedding (like I said type B), and I came to her studio with a LOT of dryness around my eyes and chapped lips. She made a micro list of products that would potentially remedy these issues. I immediately went out and grabbed them and it made a HUGE difference come the morning of the wedding. Also, subjectively I felt like I tried to keep the flow of my bridal party moving along - making sure they were present/accounted for a bit ahead of their scheduled time slots - to ensure we were staying on track timewise. Sometimes that's easier said than done and there were a few hiccups on our end with getting the girls in their chairs at the right times. I'm sure this was mildly frustrating for her and her team, but I would never know because not once were they anything but warm and delightful. Absolute DREAM TEAM! Meg and Val came THROUGH for me and my bridal make up and hair, FLAWLESS! First of all, they had to truck through rain and stairs with all of their equipment (we all know how us Angelenos are about that lol). I hired Meg when I was looking for a make up artist for a photo shoot when my girl that I usually use wasn't available. I always get a little nervous about using someone new before a photo shoot, but my intuition told me to go with Meg and I'm so happy I did! She has a really nice energy to be around, especially in the midst of an event when you might be feeling nervous. She is a true makeup expert and I absolutely love how my makeup turned out. Starting with a massive thank you to Meg. I got married last weekend in Pasadena and she and Amanda did my wedding hair and makeup for our western Indian ceremony. Both did a phenomenal job. I always get a bit nervous with makeup artists and Indian skin tones - I've been in a ton of family weddings and never loved the makeup look, the makeup shade is always off or caked on. I always walk away wishing I did my own. It's hard to find the balance - an artist who understands Indian skin tones, but also one that won't cake on the foundation...but also wanting to get the right dimensions in photos. With this all in mind, I was on the hunt for the right artist for my wedding! I like my skin tone as is and wanted more of a natural glam look. I still wanted to look like myself. Meg was recommended by our wedding planner and she nailed both ceremony and reception looks. It truly came out exactly how I pictured it - i showed her a few photos from IG and the result was spot on. Meg is very calm and patient, and just a kind energy to be around on a chaotic day like this. I had a few issues with my Lehenga wedding dress which was unfortunately still several sizes too big after alterations. We were all trying to find a solution. Meg might've been the only calm person in the room and the hair and makeup still made me feel special. I had someone helping me get ready, but unfortunately my veil/dupatta fell during pre wedding photos. Meg came to the rescue very quick (!!) and found a fix - safe to say that veil did not move even a centimeter all ceremony. I only wish i took more makeup photos/selfies to keep for myself to reference in the future! I highly recommend her team for Indian weddings. You're working with so many vendors throughout this process, and it's even more complicated with Indian weddings of course. Meg's team, I didn't have to worry about once. I should've went with my gut and chosen a different stylist after the first trial but they insisted there is no one better than her. The hair stylist did not do the hair style we agreed upon during the second trial (even though I emailed photos to the business manager, Jenn afterwards). I didn't know about the different hair style until it was too late (it was in the back and she didn't give me a mirror to show me the back) and I had to leave for the venue. It was a half up half down look and the hair fell out almost immediately after leaving the hotel. I ended up taking the bobby-pins out right before the reception.
