If you like energy drinks and are younger than 18 do not even think about coming to this store they ask for id and for you to be over 18, which there are no federal laws for buying caffeine drinks under 18, never thinking twice about coming here ever again. We went to the GNC inside the Mount Shasta Mall in Redding. We have been using the GNC B12 and Multi - Vitamin for awhile. We went into the GNC to try to find a good protein powder for my family to use after exercising at the gym. The staff was incredibly helpful and went out of their way to explain the pro's and con's of the different powders. The Manager heard us talking, and she took time to come out of her office and recommend a particular protein for my growing son. The prices are a little high, but the service and product is good so far. read more

Don't know about the former review but once I figured out where the store was located (Mt. Shasta Mall), the staff at GNC was quite helpful. As usual, when you first walk in the staff wishes to assist. I opted to review the items on the shelves solo until I needed some questions answered. Jennifer and Zach were helpful in answering all of my questions (I had several). Didn't see a "man beast" as somebody else did previously, just some people working for a living. I had a minor error at checkout (mis-marked item) and when I was charged a price higher than was on the shelf, I asked Jennifer about the difference. The price on the wall was for a smaller amount of product than I had purchased but she and Zach corrected the error, sold me the higher priced (higher volume) item at the posted price which was about a $10.00 difference. They were very helpful and apologized for the oversight. I will go back to this store when I'm in town and in need of more of their products. read more

Coming from a place of customer service, I only go in here because its healthier than any other place in the mall. I get a few items and have been pro for a while but decided not to renew, however when asked every single time to renew I just say "no" now. This last time the Person who asked me to renew, I think was the manager, said "oh you must be poor" I was like "no" And explained why I wasn't poor. I think this lady just isnt happy with her job any more and time to do something that makes her happy. The rest of the employees dont seem to be happy either, they dont even get to listen to music, I would suggest to just make everyone happy, I might renew my membership :) but for now, im gonna stay poor when Im there, only shop for what I can afford I guess read more

Stopped buying GNC products and shopping this particular store when a man beast provided extremely hostile and rude customer service several years back. The store in Redding does not honor GNC's customer service standards nor do they honor GNC's customer satisfaction for your money back policy. I never even asked for my money back I simply asked to exchange a product I mistakenly bought 10 minutes before unopened with the receipt. Would not provide an exchange and literally laughed in my face. Spoke with the manager who said they could not provide a refund or exchange once you walk out of their store which is in direct violation of GNC's money back program. I let them know they lost a customer for life. And, I am sure they really did not care. Beware of this store. read more

I went to look for some protein powder a few weeks ago and the manager (guessing the older lady) at this GNC store was being extremely rude. She has a very harsh tone and an impolite attitude. I noticed the way she talks to her employees, customers and it's not professional at all. I ended up not purchasing a single thing and left immediately. Would not recommend. read more

I've never had a problem going to this store until yesterday. So i'm 22 right, i go in and buy me and boyfriend an energy drink, the 3D one cause there soooo good and can't get them at a lot of places. anyways also went there a few days prior and had no problem that girl was super nice! but this lady don't know if she was a manager or not but she was rude and i did not appreciate it at all. So i go up to pay for these 2 drinks and she asks "are you 18" and we say "yes, we're actually 22" and then she just goes "well can i see your ID's?" and i look at my boyfriends and my two friends with me and we're like is she serious kinda look.. and at first i was like why does she need our ID's for AN ENERGY DRINK?? no where else does this and even the other day the other girl didn't ask me with no attitudes or anything. So i did and she goes "hmm usually it says where you turn 21 on here" and i say "well look at my birthday?" i just did not appreciate how she talked to us like that and she needs to get talked too by someone cause i'm clearly not the first person. read more

Well, I think I had about the same experience as another review by "Rose". I walked into the store and started to browse multi vitamins when all of a sudden I was being yelled at by an associate with waving arms at the register that was helping another customer. She was yelling about 50% off yadda yadda. Very rude loud voice. Scared the s**t outta me. Anyway she finished with the other customer then asked me what I was looking for with a very loud and boisterous voice. Overbearing to say the least. All I wanted was a single multivitamin tab. Simple. Instead she talked me into some mega vitamins in a pack that she said all you have to do is open the pack and take them all at once. ("Throw em right down") Wasn't gonna happen. My gawd, one of the pills looked like a bovine bolus and would surely choke the hell out of you if you tried to do that!!! I finally swallowed them down with my lunch and within a half hour I had, shall I say, a very violent physiological reaction. Up came the vitamins and my lunch. I felt the associate misrepresented the product besides being overbearing. My wife didn't care for her tactics in the least bit either. I'm returning this product to the Chico GNC for a full refund. Watch out for Jenny at GNC Redding. She's got a big mouth. Lol maybe that's why she can swallow all those pills all at once!!!!!!! Hahahaha read more

The manager doesn't know how to sell anything but gnc product. I work retail and can tell she doesn't care about what I needed or what I was looking for....Granted ik that I walked into a gnc store expecting to get sold gnc product. But even still that's all she was offering me. I had asked about the dymatize iso 100 and I was blown off and told that the gnc brand was better. (I knew it was but still wanted a breakdown of why) I feel bad for anyone who shops here looking for a variety of product but all they get is a mouthful of gnc gnc gnc brand. I use to shop at this location quite regularly and have spent a good amount of money here. Had no issue in the past with customer service, ever. The kids who've worked there have always been kind and helpful. Everything has always been great, until last week when I walked in looking for something in particular and within the first moment of me walking in, a woman (guessing she was a manager), was quite rude. She gave off the tone and impression like she was annoyed with me just being in the store. Note; no one else was shopping or working there at the time, and it wasn't anywhere near closing. Made me quickly want to leave and not give my business when she asked what I wanted like I was bothering her. I mentioned what it was I had hoped to find (since it wasn't in the place it usually was). She told me to look right in front of me in a harsh tone. Come to find, it was out of stock and I wasn't an idiot. She had nothing else to say or offer any more assistance. Much was to be desired. It would have maybe helped, had she mentioned when she expected to receive it back in stock, or even recommend something else that may be beneficial. Probably will not return if that's how the people who run this store talk to customers upon their first interactions. Maybe she was having a bad day, but I work in customer service myself and know that you still smile and make them feel welcome. No thanks, I'll go somewhere else. read more
