That seems to be what is happening to all Glassmere stations. If you go to look for this under Gulf, or their website, it will still pop up as Glassmere Fuel Service. Seeing how there is no competition anywhere nearby, the price of gas is basically what you are stuck with. Four total pumps, not much else going on with the outside. I know a lot of people are raving about the diner portion of this business, but I was not able to partake in that. When I was here the diner was closed. I am assuming just for the time being, but I am not sure. I hope it is not because I would sure love to try the food.

If you are like me, you came here for beverages, many many beverages. I literally only came here for one thing and ended up walking out spending more than I thought I would. My sister had asked me to stop in here to pick her up an alcoholic slushie. Now you are all aware that you can get that here, in case you did not know. Walking around the store you will notice that their selection is amazing and covers just about any picky beer drinkers need. I had been stopping and getting a six pack every so often, but kind of curbed that by picking up a case here on my visit. I'm not a heavy drinker, this will last me a long time. I grabbed the case and headed for the counter finally. Standing in line I was approached by one of the employees to ask me if they could take that out to the car for me. Of course, one less thing I would have to carry after I get up there and order everything else I needed. At the counter I order the slushie for my sister. I also pick up a pack of cigarettes to eliminate another stop on the way home. I ask if they have ice, and bam, another stop eliminated. This fine place got me going homeward faster than I thought I would be. Overall, I only ended up carrying out the slushie and cigarettes to my car. Yes, this place is more than just a grocery store. It is actually more like a gas station with an extended convenience store. With that the prices aren't always the cheapest, but when you are in dire need of something at the last minute, you really don't care about prices. Speaking of prices, this is usually the cheapest spot along the road for gas prices. There are few and far places along this stretch of road, but it is consistently the cheapest. When I said this was the go to place in the community, I wasn't kidding. When I went to complete my purchase I had to wait for the local gab-fest to end in order to pay. I'm not knocking them for that, but we all know how it is at a place like this. You're an outsider.

You may end up paying a bit more than at your neighborhood grocery store, but I don't think many people would mind due to the fact that you are saving yourself a trip and some hassle. As far as gas prices, they are reasonable and expected for the area. Honestly I feel like this spot could charge whatever it wanted. They do not have any immediate competition nearby. I went for ice cream but was staring at the prepared foods section when a young lady asked if I was there for food or ice cream - I said I wasn't really sure so she showed me everything that was available then prepared my to-go container (which I ate inside at one of the tables) and then got a gigantic "medium" twist cone for the road. I should have taken a picture but I had already licked the top of the cone. Everything was great: the gals working here were all super friendly, the food was terrific, and the ice cream was extremely cold soft-serve so it didn't melt the moment I walked outside - that was important on a 93 degree day. I left happy for a great meal and a positive experience. I used to ride my motorcycle past here I have no idea how many times and wish I'd stopped but now I have a place to come for food that's delicious and not a chain. Thanks!
