I came here for lunch while on a tour for the day and I was impressed at the service and the quality of food I got! When you walk in, you are greeted by the person working the register who was very welcoming! They have a huge menu with plenty of options including burgers, salads, sandwiches, and freshly made deserts! I ordered the three little piggy's sandwich for $8.99 which was pulled pork, bacon, and ham covered in cheese & bbq sauce on a kaiser toasted bun! It was very delicious and I got a combo so it came with fries and a drink. The fries were good and hot and crispy when I got my food and I got their homemade ranch which was very delicious and I would order it again. The meal was quite filling and I got my money's worth for sure! I ordered some deserts to go which included the lemon berry bar and a dulce de leche cheesecake. Both were homemade and delicious while not being too expensive! If you go further into the restaurant, you are heading into their deli section where they have smoked meats and cheese along with meals to buy and take home to eat and make! If you are in town, I recommend coming here for a nice sit-down meal and grab some of their bakery items for later and I will for sure be back if I am ever in town again! read more

From what I am told, this use to be just a deli. Not one that you could come in and get your grub on, but one where you came in, bought your meats and cheeses and then left. Maybe a few shelves for essential items comparable to a corner store. Compare it to now and it is by far different, in a good way. Instead of a quick stop you can come in here and have a delicious meal. Ordering is semi-simple. You walk up to the counter and are handed menus, unlike traditional places where you sit at a table and the menus are brought to you. Once your orders are placed, you then find a seat and they bring the food to you when it is prepared. When ordering a drink I suggest you get a small (free refills on a small). The seating area is on the small side, but yet accommodating. Booths and tables comprise the area and by the looks of it they are capable of large parties. The food is rather good for it being a small local eatery. I opted for the Big Indian Burger. This this is pretty impressive. A beef patty topped with some traditional and nontraditional toppings. Bacon and pepper jack cheese consist of the traditional toppings and then they top that off with some onion rings, french fries, fried egg and their sauce that they call smoke sauce. All of this between a freshly toasted bun is quite the feat to actually be able to handle. The smoke sauce makes this sandwich, especially when the yolk from the egg breaks and it mixes with the sauce. Quite the amazing taste combination that is also surprising. All of this is served with a side of fries. After devouring this monster I was definitely full. Even though I was full that did not stop me from checking out their bakery display and taking home with me a couple of gobs and cookies. I also have to say that it is nice to see a local eatery that is so invested in its community. Everything in here is aimed towards the town or the school; Conemaugh Township. They are so invested that the burger I had they used the sauce to write a CT on the bun. I am happy that there are still establishments like this out there. When ever I come here I always have a good meal. Good service as well as a good atmosphere. I ordered the yuengling beer battered fish with French fries and tarter sauce on the side. Stopped and ordered take out today. It was super busy, however they quickly took my order and prepared my lunch. I ordered two regular subs. The bread and other ingredients were very fresh. The displays were full of muffins, gobs, and cheesecakes. The dining room was full of people by the time I left. Always friendly staff. read more

Went out of my way driving just to try this place to walk into rude people. Being kicked out in less than five minutes because the kitchen was closing although their hours on the internet say ten. I have never written one of these before, either good or bad, but today is the first. I have been a frequent customer of the Thomahawk for a few years, and I've never had a bad experience until today. I informed them of a minor error and they went far out of their way to replace the order, add more value to it, and apologize in excess for the mistake. The food is always excellent and the prices are much lower than I would imagine them to be given the quality of the food. You truly do get more than what you pay for. This is a very nice and convenient shop/diner. Nothing out of the ordinary but the prices are really great!!! They have no waiters so you order and they deliver but you have to get your silverware, napkins, drinks, etc. But the owners are nice real people. read more

This is an absolutely wonderful mom and pop deli/grill. The lunchroom is simple, with service is on disposable plates, but the "simple" stops there. Breakfasts are tasty, and lunches are impressive. The half Italian sub was huge, fresh, and delicious. The "chicken red head panini" was an amazingly good combination of chicken strips, pepperonie, provolone, ham, red pepper pesto, Italian dressing, and pepper rings, perfectly grilled in a panini press.
