GO WITH GO REAL EUROPE ! We recently used GRE to help us plan and book our post Amsterdam to Budapest river cruise stays in Budapest and Prague. Grace recommended sites to visit based upon our preferences and booked great hotels in perfect locations which were near restaurants and touring sites in both cities. Every guide and driver showed up on time, even for the 4:30 am drive to the airport. GRE's awesome maps and detailed instructions for self-touring are idiot proof. They even provided pictures of the kiosks to use at train stations and public transit. The booking and pre-purchase of train tickets was just what we needed because of the intricacies of the rail system. There is no doubt that I would use GRE again if traveling to any area in which they provide services and I would highly recommend them to other travelers. read more

My Wife and I traveled to Prague, Cesky Krumlov, Salzburg and Munich and had an amazing time. David with Go Real Europe made all of the arrangements and provided an amazing and very detailed itinerary. It allowed us to use guides for some parts of the trip and do it ourselves for the rest of it. It was a great balance of guided and free time site seeing. The sites were all amazing, but Prague was definitely our favorite. David's itinerary allowed us to see the main touristy sites, but also a good amount of the city that is less touristy, but no less interesting. I would recommend Go Real Europe to anyone who is looking for a great experience to the Czech Republic, Austria or Germany. read more

For our first trip to Vienna and Prague I reviewed many Travel Tours sites and finally chose to go with Go Real Europe. Speaking with David a few times in planning a detail itinerary felt like talking to good friend, and later with Jan who we had the pleasure of meeting in Prague. They custom designed a 36 page itinerary that allowed for guides and on your own sightseeing. We were very pleased with the choices of hotels in both places. Looking forward to using them for another upcoming tour once again to Prague and Germany. Hoping they would soon extend their tours to other countries in Europe --- Italy,Spain and France. While I certainly agree with the positive reviews of this service, their fees are a mystery. You have no way of knowing what they are charging you for the trip and when you ask for an accounting you receive mumbo jumbo. read more

Go Real Europe had to get one of my very few negative reviews. First off, the service was good when they needed your business. Once the money was paid, service almost non-existent thereafter. My specific requests for hotel accommodation was not looked into. I had the rude shock of finding that out when I reach the hotel. I was specific to my agent the 2 things that would make or break my holiday, 1. People factor (understandably is not in anyone's control) 2. Hotel requirements. And I gave my agent specific needs for my accommodation. That was why I did not scrimp on my hotel budget with my agent. Unfortunately he blatantly ignored that need, because 2 out of the 3 hotels were exactly my nightmares. My gripe is if they could not find hotels for my specific requests, at least let me know beforehand. At least that would have been more accepting. My emails were not promptly replied after payment and sure, my agent gave me some excuses for his lack of efficiency. I did not remember that lack just before I made any payment. I don't even want to start with the printed itinerary on Croatia but had to force myself to write this excruciating negative for the sake of the travelling community. I plan my own holidays on the usual basis but because I was busy with my home festivities, I thought why not pay a middleman agent to plan my holiday? Bad idea. I chanced upon Go real for it's rave reviews (wondering why). The itinerary was a shame to begin with and we hardly used it. We printed 60plus pages and hardly referred to it after a few days. Why? Because Croatia's tourism is seasonal and the offerings for winter is very different from summer. The itinerary included attractions good for summer and not winter. So many suggested itinerary was not useful for us at all. We were thankful that we had local guides to take us around on our trip and mind you, that's extras from our pocket. And then the wine tour I booked through Go Real. That's another bemoaning moment. I emailed my agent to try to put it on other days rather than the initial last day of the tour, no reply. By then, I resigned to the fact that I'm just down on luck that I booked through GoReal. And the most interesting part of the printed itinerary is there were a couple of free days to explore the old town of Dubrovnik (free I mean walking tours plus really free), most shops were not open during this season and basically it's empty and nothing much to do. I paid the GoReal for transfers, accommodation which I disliked, 2 walking tours and one wine tour (which I paid something like close to USD5K for 2 persons, not including food, airfare, additional day trips and transportation, in a low season) And most times, in many old towns you get free walking tours like the few I did in Czech and Italy. I understood from a local friend who paid only USD2500 for full board tour to Croatia in low season. And another associate divulged that USD4.5K can get you a reasonable good inclusive tours with airfare. All these information came too late. When I was there, my problems were all troubleshot by myself, if not my local guide. Nothing much was done by Goreal except for the few emails. So having said all these, my advice is skip this company altogether and go direct to local agents in that country or plan it yourself with your own requirements. You will be better off with your time and money. The company got 1 extra point from my initial 1-pt rating because they did arrange good guides for the trip. That's about it anyway because you can also easily source them out in TripAdvisor which is free. read more

We had a very positive experience with Jared Holmes and GoRealEurope. Our trip changed a lot from what we'd originally planned and Jared made all the changes quickly and easily. GRE gives you very thorough instructions on how to use public transport, and they make hotel and airport transfers super easy. Their maps are good. They can tailor your trip to what you want and need. I'd give people planning these trips with GRE two pieces of advice: 1. If there is an attraction you really, really want to see/do, and you're going during the tourist season, have GRE book it for you and buy tickets in advance. Don't wing it. 2. Have a look at the hotels they choose for you yourself, on-line, before you go. Read the reviews. One of our "four star" hotels was basically a glorified Courtyard. We'd have known this if we'd bothered to read reviews on line. GRE will happily change your hotel for you, if you want them to. Overall, great trip and great experience with GoRealEurope. I'd use them again in a heartbeat. read more

We first stumbled upon Go Real Europe online when we were looking for travel ideas. Recently retired, we finally had time to travel but needed some direction. We knew we didn't want to be on a huge tour bus or in a group of 30 people following the lady with the red umbrella. After some phone conversations with David Manley, it became clear that Go Real Europe was perfect for us! David gave us a blend of structure while providing flexibility to pursue our interests as we explored Central Europe. We visited Prague, Cesky Krumlov, Salzburg, Berchtesgaden, Vienna and Budapest. David helped us to choose hotels as well as places to visit. He provided transportation between cities and public transportation tickets (with travel directions) within cities. Our hotels were wonderful, each giving us a taste of the city's history with modern amenities. Had we chosen to go with a "big box" tour company, we suspect that our lodgings would have been more homogenous, commercial hotels. David arranged lodging in an 800 year old, fully modern hotel in Prague, a hotel in Cesky Krumlov that is housed in one of the town's most significant historic buildings and dates back to the 14th century, as well as the oldest hotel that was beautifully updated in Vienna. Our other lodgings were homey guest houses that enabled us to get a taste of living and experiencing the rich culture of these communities. While the guest house in Budapest was not quite up to the standards of the other lodgings and a little disappointing, the proprietors were gracious and welcoming. David thoughtfully customized an itinerary that included detailed instructions. He even included pictures of metro stations and signs to follow. Our tours were individualized, focusing on our interests and never in large groups. So, no huge tour buses and no ladies with red umbrellas! Once on our vacation, David continued to be there every step of the way. We actually spent some time with him and his adorable little girl, Sofie, in Prague. As we continued our travels, David kept in contact with us through phone and email, and was immediately responsive to us, asking for our feedback and suggestions as we travelled. He listened and took seriously, for example, our suggestion to exclude the boat tour in Prague, as it was limited to the area of the Charles Bridge and did not provide any more than our land excursions offered. Thanks to David and Go Real Europe, we were bitten by the travel bug and are confident that there are much better ways to travel than with big bus, big box tour companies. We appreciate that David does not offer travel to a location until he has fully researched it and planned for his visitors.
