This review is for their Hop-On Hop-Off Tour in Pensacola We booked this tour through Viator. The starting point address did match the actual location perfectly, but I'm mentioning it because the confirmation email and digital tickets were not very clear about where the tour began. The app stated that we could access the tour from any of the stop locations, but it did not provide specific addresses for those stops. After clicking around in the app, I eventually found the main address listed at the very bottom of the screen. Parking was free, and check-in was easy and located inside the office. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The tour lasted approximately 1.5 hours. We were driven in a comfortable van through different areas of downtown Pensacola while the guide explained the history and current significance of each location. We stopped and got out at two different sites. There is usually a third stop, but on Saturday afternoons that location is skipped because the historic site is closed. There were two restroom opportunities between stops, which was very convenient. One of the stops also included a complimentary scoop of gelato, which was a nice surprise. Traveling in the van was comfortable, especially with the air conditioning, and it was helpful to have a knowledgeable driver who knew exactly where to go. During the tour, wristbands were provided, and by wearing them afterward, we were able to receive discounts at several local restaurants, which added extra value to the experience. Since we just moved here, this was a great way to learn about the city's history, take note of places to visit, restaurants to try, and even discover other tours the same company offers in the area. Aww this tour was so fun!! We did the morning tour and got to go on the old 1930s ford! I will say sometimes the tour guide has to switch the cars so keep this in mind it's because of her knee. The other van is also very nice as well though!! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and kind, my husband and I really enjoyed it. The meeting place was slightly confusing but it's in a brick building with the old ford parked outside it you can find the meeting place on the website! Definitely recommend this tour it was so fun!! Also we got free gelato! read more

We went on the new tasting tour with go retro. It was fantastic. I live in Pensacola and was able to eat at some of the best restaurants in the city. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about the history which made the tour that much better. I would recommend this tour for guest to our city as well as the locals. read more

We did the Hop on & Hop off tour yesterday @ 2 pm. Disappointed we did not ride the retro bus & the art museum was not open. But...... Terry the tour guy is amazing! Love his southern accent. We had family in town so we went on Ghost Tour with Terry the tour master. It was the best time; great ghostly stories and some wonderful history lessons! The old bus had AC which was wonderful and needed! Terry was so much fun the singalong were hilarious! We have been on a lot of Ghost Tours and this was one of the best! Highly recommend! read more

Comfy, air conditioned van. Excellent informative tour. Ivy is fantastic , funny & knowledgeable . The only downside was that the cool old Ford bus was out of service. But given it was 91 degrees today, the a/c van was greatly appreciated as a replacement. read more

I am from out of town and came to visit colleagues in the area. One had suggested the Red Light District tour as they had done it previously and thoroughly enjoyed it. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Dave and given a taste of a peach wine in a disposable shot size cup. We departed the facility and eagerly awaited our tour; however, the excitement would quickly disappear. The driver was trying to look at his cell phone, a list of instructions, a map, AND the road all at the same time. This led to several instances of near side-swiping other vehicles. For example, we were coming down a main road as a man exited his vehicle. Dave was not paying attention and had to be instructed by a fellow passenger to watch out for the man and his vehicle, but then he swerved abruptly to the left to avoid the accident. Had he not been warned, no doubt we would have hit that vehicle and likely that gentleman. Pedestrians could hardly get their last foot up over the curb and he was speeding past them. No regard for their safety or ours as his passengers. We were given a card for a free drink at Seville's, but we never stopped there as a part of the tour. We stopped at a cemetery and as the driver got up, at least half of his lower back side was visible. We will never get that image out of our minds! Dave then picked up a jar at the gravesite and made the comment about there being a dead fetus inside the jar. As a parent and a new parent, I was very much disturbed by that comment. It was apparent at one point that we had become lost, so my colleagues began providing directions. At one point the driver was arguing with them as to which direction to turn. There were at least two of them explaining that if he had turned left, we would be heading towards the naval base. Finally he went right and they continued to direct him. We did not stop at any of the stops listed in the video that was playing during the ride. There was one location that a colleague advised him was his next stop and he came to a screeching halt just past the location. It was pointless. Towards the end of the trip, a colleague asked how much wine he had drunk. His response was that there were 2 bottles and now there were none. Insinuating that he had been drinking and possibly over a bottle of wine! That is highly concerning. There was absolutely no regard for our psychological or physical safety. read more

Overall, we were a bit disappointed. For the $100 for 4 tickets, we were expecting a little more. We took the Hop-on-Hop-off tour where you get to see a wide variety of historic sites in Pensacola spread over a rather large area. However, there was no historic bus for the ride, and really no time to photograph the structures and sites you visit. When you are traveling inside an air-conditioned van watching the history on a TV, it's a little difficult to enjoy the history around you. About the most excitement on this trip was the "ghost story" associated with the Children's Museum. I think the only real perk to this activity would be the various discounts you get at local venues, but we aren't necessarily into the local bar and beers scenes in the places we go. You also get free tickets to the Historic Pensacola village, but that wasn't really even worth the visit. Honestly, save your money and visit the Pensacola Tourism and Visitors center for a better experience. read more

I went to visit a friend in Pensacola and signed us up for the Ghost and Graveyard tour. We both enjoyed the ghost stories and I really liked being able to stop at one of the Victorian homes that was believed to be haunted...I didnt experience anything while there, but the house was beautiful and the host grew up and still lives in the house. I also liked knowing where the haunted places were so during the rest of my visit I kept looking for ghostly experiences...I didn't have any, but liked the idea. I enjoy horror movies so I was not afraid at any point, just fun. read more

This was a nice tour that provided a good overview of what there is to see and do in Pensacola but, this is not a hop on hop off tour. You're given a narrated tour of the high points of the city and then offered an opportunity to be taken back to any of the areas that were drive through and then able to call to have the driver come back to pick you up any time before 4PM. The driver/guide was very informative/interesting, and the tour takes about an hour to complete. After the tour was complete, we opted to drive our personal vehicle back into a central location and then just walk from there. read more

Tour was weak on content and characterized by improvisational content verging on inappropriate. The tour guide showed video of Hunter shooting Santa's reindeer despite the fact there were children on tour. It continued with awkward attempts at 'color commentary' about the lawn displays and sophomoric humor about Christmas balls. The height of awkward and inappropriate was when the guide said this about one lawn display: "I don't know why they have pigs in their Christmas display; maybe they are really anti-muslim". This was extremely embarrassing; I didn't say anything because I was escorting my elderly mother. I found out later she noticed all of this, which breaks my heart. Overall this was a very good food tour. The Palafox Palate is a Pensacola walking tour with stops for both food and drink. The stops were very interesting and the food was delicious. We have been on over a dozen food tours and I would call the quantity of food "satisfying" but definitely not over the top as far as quantity. I did ding one star based on the host - and granted he is not the normal person who gives the tour - but he gave no introduction as far as his background, knowledge-base, experience, etc. He told a couple of stories that I thought just went a bit too far as far as graphic, and then lastly - gave a very sudden and abrupt ending to the tour where we left a place and were walking and he pretty much turned around and said - ok tour's over, I have another appointment. It was odd. Would have loved to do the tour with the normal host, but she had a family emergency. read more
