The only times I really come here are Wednesday's at 7pm for the Kendall Run Club. It's a free club, they encourage runners of all speeds. Often huge groups 50-100 people at least. There's another group that runs on Saturdays, I have not been to that one yet due to conflicting work schedules. Stretches before and after, pre-run warm up runs. They release us in waves, walkers-over 11 min mile joggers... 9 min-11 min per mile runners (that's usually my group now)... and its usually about three (3) to four (4) different waves. Usually between 3-3.5 mile runs... you can turn back whenever you want, don't be worried about the distance. Sometimes they have a boot camp set up in the middle of the run. Muscle Milk is there at the end of the run to hand out samples. read more

Not sure if you've noticed but there seems to be a fitness craze going on in Miami. Is it just me, or doesn't it seem like everyone you talk to is doing cross-fit or training for some crazy endurance event? Well I suspect it has something to do with the Run Club Network and the fact that speciality running shoe stores are popping up in every Miami Neighborhood. A major leader in the running community, Frankie Ruiz -- who is part of the ING Marathon as well as the Run Club Network -- has also joined forces with a few people that are equally passionate about running to open up Kendall's newest specialty running store. Like all good specialty stores, the staff at SoleRunners will listen to your fitness goals and recommend shoes based on your fitness level and goals. More importantly they take shoe fit very seriously. I was given multiple shoes to try on and Jaime Vega performed a gait analysis. Simply put, he video taped me while I ran on a treadmill to determine whether I had proper form in the shoes. The store's decor takes its theme from a marathon -- port o potty doors (new) cover the dressing rooms and a time clock hangs over the cash register. You can't help but feel inspired to get a new pair of shoes and sign up for you next race! The service is amazing. SoleRunners is aspiring to be Kendalls go-to place for a runner's needs, by supporting local running groups and its own Run Club. Once you visit, you will understand that SoleRunners is a a local store owned by locals who dreamed of quitting their day jobs to do what they love -- getting others to love running and fitness too. As an quasi-experienced runner, I had my own ideas of the type of shoe I needed and Jaime was able to address my curiousity with patience and diplomacy. I noted things I wish the store carried and he offered that it could be ordered and shipped quickly. My husband is an avid runner and he LOVES this store. He can spend hours here just talking with the employees about upcoming races, energy foods, recovery methods, shoes etc. Very nice, knowledgable and patient staff. When he first came in to buy running shoes, they placed him on a treadmill to test his running style and came up with a pair of shoes that work very well with him and he bought another pair when they were in sale. I bought a pair of shoes recently cause I do a lot of Bootcamp exercises and some mild running (5K,10K) and the shoes worked out great! My shins aren't sore anymore! Never really had that before, as I generally just try & buy the most expensive thing from sports authority thinking it's the best, man was I wrong. I've been fast walking and now running for about 3 years doing 5k's, 10k's and 13.1's, traveling before from my home in horse country to South Miami or Pinecrest to purchase my running shoes, gear and supplies. Since Sole RUNNERS opened in Kendall, this has been my go-to place for all of my running needs, and should be yours too!!! First as has already been mentioned, the three guys who own and run this store are all very experienced runners with many many years in the business before opening their own store, and if that wasn't enough they are all great guys too! They and their staff truly take their time to get to know you and your needs, get you on a treadmill to do a video-recorded gait-analysis, so that you can be properly fitted with the right type of shoe for your gait. The store has a wide and growing selection of shoes, whether it be for walking, running, cross-fit or just working out at a gym. They also have a very good selection of stylish athletic wear, plus accessories such as socks, caps, laces, hydration and nutrition belts, gu's, gel's, compression sleeves, etc.. The pricing on shoes and merchandise is very competitive, AND their service is second to none. Give Sole RUNNERS a shot....you won't be disappointed!!! PS: Sole Runners also hosts an organized weekly FREE 3.5 mile walk or run on Wednesday night's at 7pm that leaves from the store: Muscle Milk Kendall Run Club. Hubby and I were looking to buy running shoes while we were on vacation from Scotland and this was recommended by my Facebook running club. So glad we made it out there. The service was amazing, the prices were what you would expect at a running store, and the sales guy went above and beyond to make sure we had the right fit. The minute I walked in the store I was greeted with a very friendly smile and I noticed how stylish their merchandise is. Jaime, who took care of me, was very knowledgeable. I can say this since while I was waiting to be taken care for he was able to notice a prior knee injury on a lady just by looking at how she was standing. Then my turn came. After he filmed me running, he explained to me why he was recommending the shoes he was recommending. He actually showed me on his ipad where my deficiencies were and how the shoes he was recommending were allowing me to fall at a straight angle I needed to fall regardless of how my body naturally "decides" to run. Great place to buy good shoes. Ernie Mendoza knew his stuff and took care of my issue by process of elimination. He asked alot of questions then recorded me jogging on the treadmill. He spent a lot time with me and my feet are now pain free. I was only able to walk 3 to 4 miles a day with bunion pain but with these new Brooks sneakers I feel like I may be able to run 3 miles again very soon. Amazing. Simply amazing is the word for this store and every individual that works in it. Let's put it this way, if I could give a 6th star I would. Let me start by saying that this is probably only the third Yelp review I've ever written in my life because I only write for businesses that I feel are over the top exceptional and completely, 100% deserve it. I'm a runner. Have been since high school and about 3 years ago all the running finally began taking a toll on the right side of my hip and my left knee. I decided it was time to get new running shoes and made a stop at sole runners. Best random walk-in I have ever done in my life. When you go to buy your new running shoes you will see for yourself. All staff are so friendly and extremely knowledgeable. As soon as they look down at your foot they'll shock you with the comments they make, that'll have you thinking "how do they even know that?! They haven't even touched my foot yet!?" They'll measure your foot and bring out a selection of shoes for you to try on. They'll then use their iPad to film just your feet as you run for a minute or so on the in store tread mill to set you up with the perfect shoe and fit just for your foot. Every time I go I feel so satisfied when I leave with my new pair of shoes. I will never buy from another store. Their customer service is indescribable. Especially Jamie, what a sweet heart. Left today feeling like I had known him for years. They're patient and can answer any questions you might have. Whether you're a beginner or experienced athlete. Best customer service ever! I highly reccomend coming in and getting fitted for running shoes. They measured my foot and then recorded my gate on the treadmill. After analyzing that they showed me a few options and again recorded mg gate to see the improvement. The improvement was completely visible. Once I took my new shoes on a run I truly appreciated the change. I was able to cut a full minute off of my mile. The pricing is really fair as well. Often times they have a large section if sake merchandise. I've gone in randomly looking for workout accessories and they always manage it have exactly what I need. The staff is very friendly but even more Important, they're so well knowledge on all of the products. They provide advice based on personal experience and customer review. I wanted to switch brands from Brooks because I had been having issues with my feet because of plantar fasciitis so I brought in my shoes and showed them to PInkie and said "what's a different brand of shoe that is similar to this one I have here." He walked over to the sales rack and handed me a pair of 361s that I like so much I am now on my second pair. This store is basically the heart of Kendall's running community, they host run clubs and the owner Doug hosts races all throughout the year. I got a great deal on my Garmin with them and then a few weeks later they had a workshop on how to get the most out of your watch so they really keep their finger on the pulse of what runners need to know. read more

I have been shopping at this location for two years now. I love the sense of community, customer service and pricing they offer. They do a running test prior to recommending shoe, which is great! You can also bring in your current sneakers and they will check wear/tear of shoe to see where you need most support. They should call this place Soul-Runners, because when you're here you really feel like you're being helped out by a genuine individual. I've been to this shop a few times and have referred at least 10 of my friends whom have gone and purchased shoes the same day. Pro's: They provide friendly and low pressure service during your selection and really focus on finding "the right shoe". The staff is very knowledgeable when it comes to explaining the reasons why one shoe will work better for you than another. Instead of just suggesting shoes based on what looks good they actually bring a bit of science to the equation. First comes the fitting using the traditional sizing tool (learned recently that my left foot is slightly larger than my right foot). After a bit of questioning regarding your running history, what kind of training you'll be doing and what not, comes the test fit. From there you are put on a treadmill and asked to run how you normally run while the staff member uses an IPAD to record your running gait. From there using a pretty sleek little software the associate visually shows you the breakdown of your run pattern and will suggest the type of show that will help improve your running. In my case I tend to be an over pronator and the show I was fit for was one that had more stability. They have the usual policy regarding returns/exchanges but in the past I was able to exchange a pair of shoes after taking them home to test out because it turned out they were just slightly too tight. Its a great experience each time. As an extra plus, they have a weekly Run Club which is free and open to runners of all athletic abilities. Cons: I wish they had more variety for those of us that have wide feet. read more

I went into SoleRUNNERS on Friday afternoon to purchase a desperately needed pair of running shoes. I live in Brickell and have been going to Run Club weekly so I thought the right thing to do was to buy my shoes from SoleRUNNERS since they organize Run Club. I have to say, it was definitely worth the drive. Not only is the customer service exceptional, but also the variety of shoes and accessories is impressive. I arrived to the store around 1 PM and was helped by a young girl (I can't remember her name). Immediately, she measured my feet and asked me some questions about my running frequency, duration, etc. She then brought out some options and put me on a treadmill to assess my running. I left the store with a great pair of running shoes, cute accessories and a big smile on my face. If you want to get a great pair of shoes at a good price, look no further. These folks know what they're doing and even if you don't live down the street, make the drive, it's worth it. I'll definitely be back and am in love with my new shoes! read more

Great local business here! The staff is elfull of knowledge and helpful. On my first visit here I went in for a pair of new running shoes. The guy at the front asked questions about my current shoe and workout regimen. He put me into shoes and had me run on the treadmill while recording my ankles. Then we went over the video and he recommended shoes based on the outcome. I tried them on and felt immediate improvement. My very first run with these shoes I was able to cut a minute off my mile. Once I picked my shoes the guy took me in a tour around the store and explained all the different items they had. I chose a pair if compression socks, regular running socks, and some energy supplement. I choose compression socks to help with my ankle and shin issues. The gentleman walked Me through putting them on! thank goodness he did because even with his instruction i had a hard time getting into them. The first time I used then if was a weird sensation bit I got used to it and now really enjoy them for during my workouts or as a postworkout care. They really helped with my ankle swelling. The regular running socks were very comfortable. I never realized the power of a good pair of socks. They may have created a monster here. I choose various energy supplements to try them out.He warned me about taking them on an empty stomach. He was 100% correct! I had horrible pain stomach pain when I did use them on an empty stomach. I love them now but I must drink water with them.bibprefer the gummy candy ones over the cream. The cream is a weird consistency and not a pleasant one. The gummy candies are delicious. I would eat them as regular candy if I could! I find these hummus really kick into work in 30 minutes and do give a nice boost I'm energy. I've since been going here every Wednesday for the run club. It's been an awesome experience and I've seen great results in my running. It's usually a large group and we head out in groups based on speed. Slow ones first! The last group always passes everyone. It works as great motivation for me. The run club provides water and muscle milk every run. Every so often they have a little boot camp set up. I did the bootcamp once and it was insane! I was soar for 4 days. It was a great experience and I can't wait for the next boot camp workouts. The trainers were great. Perfect bodies. They tell you to do the workouts and you look at them and its obvious they're capable of doing that and much more. I had a hard time completing much of it but they were encouraging and kind the entire way. I love this place! Such great customer care. It feels good to spend my money in a local small business especially knowing that they care about their customers and are passionate about what they do. It's a gem. Go get fitted immediately! I can't wait for my second pair of shoes. This place taught me a lot I didn't know. My shoes were too small, too tight, and not supportive enough. Sole Runners we might be Sole Mates.... ok punish me for the bad joke later but honestly I never felt so good about buying running shoes. I've been runnning/walking more this year not only for well being but for a half marathon I'll be running at the end of the year, kind of my new years resolution. Anywhos... with a bad knee and bad shoes my feet, knee, and back were crying for attention. I knew I needed the right pair of running shoes for me to soothe my aches and pains. Did some online research and found out a lot about form and how bad shoes can really hurt in the long run. I needed to find a good shoe store and my friendly foot locker, sports authority and other shoe retailer weren't just going to cut it. I needed a specialty store that knew what they were doing. A friend suggested Sole Runners which isn't to far from home. I went in with some friends and Ernie set me up with a great pair of shoes. First he measured my feet and asked me what shoes I was wearing to suggest a few pairs to start out with. I felt like Cinderella in a shoe store. Ernie put on the first pair and tied them up for me, watched me walk a bit and then it was time to test them out on the treadmill. Yes i said test them out. In the store they have a treadmill with a camera and tv set up so they can see how you run in a pair of shoes and show you actually whats happening with each stride. After the first pair He noticed my feet still needed more support so we exed those and he came out with another pair. Tried those out, walked and tested them. I asked to see if they had any more with some specifications I wanted and he pulled out one more pair. This time I put one of these on and one of the 2nd pair on and tried them out on the treadmill. I was able to feel the differences in each shoe as I ran side by side, along with this, the camera info, and Ernie's knowledge, I knew which shoes I had to get. When i told him which ones he let me know exactly how to break in these shoes since they required a bit more work than others and at this point I was amazed beyond belief. I mean they gave me so much information already and usually at this point this is where the sales person just rings you up and you are on your way, but he really took the extra time to explain to me what to do when I got home. Who does that?!? People who actually care that's who. Ernie rang me up let me know about the Kendal run club that happens every wednesday, where they run about 3-4 miles with a group for every fitness level. After my purchase I also met Jaime who wanted to see what shoes Ernie set me up with and said they were an excellent choice and reminded me about breaking them in properly. These 2 are shoe angels.... My friends also got shoes and we compared bills. Everything seemed reasonably priced for running shoes. Oh did i mention the complementary coconut water and muscle milk? Long story short- If you are serious about getting the right pair of shoes and want one on one attention at an affordable price, this is your place. Let me start by saying I am very new to this whole running world.After attending a new member FDC meeting and hearing about finding the right shoes for you I realized the shoes I had been wearing probably were not right and that just so happened to be the case. When I first walked in I was greeted right away by Jaime(I am pretty sure that was his name but I am not 100% sure) but Christy was the one who helped me.We sat down and we talked about me being new to this and what I wanted to achieve (walk,run,ING,etc)I also brought in the shoes I was wearing and right away she measured my feet and brought out a few shoes to try on.Turns out the shoes I was wearing all along were too small.After trying on a few more they had me go on a treadmill and filmed me running for a few seconds.I had no idea my left foot was turning in and making me run funny...So right after that she brought out some more shoes to try on and Jaime at this point jumped in and helped out as well.After trying on a few I finally found the one that fit perfectly and tried them on the treadmill.After getting off Jaime offered me a bottle of water which I thought was really cool even though I did like 30 seconds on the treadmill.lol Through out this entire time I didn't feel like you do in most stores being pushed to purchase something.It was a real laid back atmosphere and very, very friendly staff.Not many places pay attention to detail and talk to you do find out what your needs are.I felt like they were really getting to know me and I wasn't just another customer coming through.They even invited me to come to their free running club on Wednesdays. Honestly, if you need anything for running this is the place to get it.I was so happy with their service I started texting friends and posting on FB.When it comes to anything running I will for sure be making my purchases here. :D read more

Disappointed. I was a shopper here when it was Sole Runners and that crew was top notch. I went in today and apparently they didn't need my business. Thanks to the old staff I know the size and model that I need to run comfortably but all they did was try to tell me my size "had to be wrong". Then they tried to convince me other shoes "were the same" even though I had no interest in them. Service in Miami is a rarity, but SoleRUNNERS is the exception to this rule. I can't remember the last time I had such a great experience buying something as basic as running shoes. Jaime understood the timeline I was working with (lunch break), but he still meticulously fitted me to a new pair of running shoes after I tore the sole off mine on the track over the weekend. He found the perfect balance between what's right for my running style combined with the type of shoe I enjoy. After two runs in as many days, I can say that he found the absolute perfect pair for me.
