I have been to every single well-known running store within 20 miles of South Miami and although there are some good ones there is something very fresh about this place. First time going to this place was AWESOME. Service was really great.They ask if it's your first time there and put you on a treadmill to find out your running posture. My boyfriend and I both bought our first pair of "real" running shoes here and couldn't be happier. The owner who sold us our shoes was really helpful, even stayed after they had closed to answer all our questions, and in the end we got really comfortable shoes that have worked out really well. And we weren't sold some super expensive, high-end shoes either! Like most stores that specialize in running sneakers, you will be measured and asked to run on a treadmill while they video your feet to figure out what kind of shoes you'll need. From what I can tell with my limited experience, they have a good selection of clothes and accessories as well. The best part is that they host a running club Wednesdays and Saturdays. I had just gotten into running with some friends and I visited a competitor store, which I won't name, for some advice on running shoes and training in general. Let's just say I wasn't feeling very confident about the advice I was getting from the high school aged staff at this other location. So I checked out SoleRunners a few days later, hoping for a better outcome. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the friendly staff and they were all ears to what I was looking for. They got me on the treadmill and videotaped my feet and showed me where I needed more support. We tried on a few pairs, but their 1st recommendation was the best fit for me. Having read plenty about running injuries, I was glad the staff really seemed concerned with my overall safety and health and guided me in buying the right pair of shoes. You could really tell they knew what they were talking about, unlike the kids at that other store. After getting some advice for my runs and being told about the Wednesday 5k run meet-ups, I made my purchase and was on my way. I am still using the shoes they recommend and I've felt great in them ever since. The pain I would get in my knee while using my old pair of shoes has not returned. I've gone to their Wednesday meet-ups twice now and they're fantastic. It's crazy how many people show up for this thing. They have sponsors sometimes doing giveaways. And there's always a bottle of water waiting for you at the end. I'll never look elsewhere again for my running needs. While we live in an age where we all bargain hunt online, saving a few bucks online is not worth not coming down to this place and receiving the expertise you will get from this staff. Let's start with my background: I am a hardcore endurance athlete, 40+ hours a week training, half IMs, Full IMs and other stuff. I purchase 4-5 pairs of shoes a year just because I wear them out and I like local running stores just because I hate corporate. I sent my sister to go shop for a pair of shoes, and I recommended (without even knowing) this place just because it is a local shop, small and I assume owner operated shop so she can get her first pair of running shoes ever! she just quit smoking and started to walk, then jog and now she is very excited about running. So she goes to this place and ............"well, we can only get you a fitting if you buy the shoes from us......." Are you @@#@#$@#@ kidding me?? So you don't know if you have what she wants or needs, you don't even know if you carry her size or color preference and you are forcing her to buy a pair of shoes she does not even know before fitting her?? I have purchased running shoes all over this country and this is the first time I EVER hear such stupidity!!! So, she called me, told me about it and I sent her to the closest OTHER running store where they DO fit her before asking her to buy their shoes first!! This is NONSENSE!!! if those are your selling practices, I am glad she didn't get fir there because I am SURE they will sell her what she does not need just to make the sale! This store is the best. I stop by and was told that the shoes I had were not that great. I was having a little trouble with my back pain. I am a golfer and I had back pain everyday. It turn out to be the walking shoes that I was wearing daily. Sole Runners took measurements of my feet and that hasn't happened with shoe stores for years. After determining the size that would be best for my flat feet. They sold me a pair of Brooks. I started wearing them that day and two days later my back pain was 100% better.
