TL/DR: After 2 months of renting storage price doubled, customer support unwilling to do anything. ***************************************** I needed storage for my college student. I loved that this location was a quick ride away from campus and was climate controlled. We rented a 5x5 unit and even with the administrative fee thought the pricing was reasonable. It was a bit frustrating to never deal with an actual person - while most things could be handled online just fine there were a few little things that could have been easily solved if I was able to work directly with someone (not the AI bot that answers the phones). You can eventually get through to a person - but it takes a lot of effort. Once we actually went there we were impressed with how clean the building was. It was relatively easy to get in and gain access to the unit. Just this week I received a notice that after 2 months the rent would DOUBLE. I called and eventually got a call back. I requested to know how often I should expect a rate increase. I was told that I was on a promo rate and this is now the normal rate. I said no, the promo was for the first month for $1. I was never told that there would be an increase. I was essentially told "too bad, this is the rate". I kept asking how I would know this was a promo rate and it would increase in 2 months. I was told it wasn't in writing anywhere, but I should have been told. I wasn't. I then asked how often I could expect rate increases. I was told that it was in the contract that they can raise them whenever (which it is, but seriously you would expect that there was some rhyme or reason to this) and they don't know how much or when. I hung up when it was evident that they didn't care and would do zero to help. I have rented storage units in the past and never had this experience or this poor of customer service when concerns were expressed. I had hoped this was going to be a location that I could patronize for all the time my student was here for school, but I see that will likely not be the reality. BEWARE - if your budget can take constant fluctuations in price - this could be the place for you, if not you may want to see what else is out there. read more

WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! RUN FAST! DO NOT RENT HERE! Find another storage unit company, because this one is shady and they will bait and switch you and then steal your money. I started renting from them in February 2025, rate with fees/tax was $42.95 for a 5x5 telephone booth sized storage unit - small space, it's all I needed - I was happy. A few months later, in May 2025, I receive a Rate Change Notice, which based on previous reviews, I was expecting - but NOT for this much. The Rate Change was going from $42.95 to $179.48 for my 5x5 telephone phone booth sized storage unit. That's 4 TIMES the amount they originally quoted me, more than $135 increase, in just a few months time! IT GETS WORSE! After receiving that notice in mid May, and knowing that they claim to be temporary storage, I was planning on moving out. The notice was received on May 16, 2025. The notice said that the Rate Change would take effect on June 15, 2025. They CHARGED MY CARD for $179.48 on June 2, 2025; TWO WEEKS BEFORE THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO. So, not only did they bait and switch my rate, but they ALSO left me in a deficit of $179.48 by stealing that money from my account two weeks early, and not even giving me 30 days notice before doing it (which is illegal). Just because they have my card on file, doesn't mean they get to decide to increase the rate by 4x, and then charge me whenever they want. I cancelled my debit card because I was scared they were going to do it again; and now I cannot get ahold of anybody to refund me my money because they keep saying they're refunding it to the debit card in which I had to cancel because of their fraudulent charges! I MOVED OUT on June 2, 2025 right after they fraudulently charged my card for $179.48. The property manager has great customer service skills and she will try to keep you appeased, but the owner is irresponsible and not responsive. She tried to get him to issue me a check refund after I explained that I cancelled my debit card- and I've been waiting OVER A MONTH! Try to contact the call center, and they don't answer either. This company is a SCAM, and I hope that nobody else has this happen to them because it's been an absolute nightmare. My next step is to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I rented storage space for my small business at this Goodale Blvd. facility for 14 or 15 months, during which time there were a number of issues with the elevators in the building. Last weekend, I went to this facility on Saturday night to gather product for a market I was scheduled to sell at on Sunday only to find that the two elevators in the building were out of service and the door to the fourth floor, where my storage unit *was* located, was locked. GoStoreIt did not send out an email letting its customers know that their access would be impacted; there was just a handwritten note on the door of the building letting everyone know that management would be out until Monday morning. Long story short: My company lost about $500 by my estimate, and GoStoreIt offered me $50 in credit for my next month's rental fee, which is an insult. Also, I had literally JUST signed a rental agreement with a new storage facility on Wednesday (FOUR DAYS after the GoStoreIt access problem) when GoStoreIt's regional manager finally got around to contacting me about my bad experience with his company, and this guy had the audacity to tell me that he had been willing to offer me "several months" in make-good time, which is really easy to say when the customer has already flown the coop. Anyway, this location may be OK if you're just looking to store furniture, etc. and you don't need reliable access. However, if you're a business and you're looking for a place to store your product(s), be warned. read more
