I called the uhaul office and after putting me on hold for ten minutes they told me that they had known about the broken door and rented me the van anyways (because fuck me, I guess). The couch I was purchasing on craigslist wouldn't rotate through the side door and wouldn't fit through the back with only one door functional, so I couldn't buy it, basically rented the van for nothing. Was this a typical experience? Probably not. Should I have been more careful checking everything before I left? Probably yes. But I wasted ~$50 plus gas renting a van for no reason, because of a problem the office knew about and didn't bother mentioning.

They charge only for what they move, so if you move your own things ahead of time or add more to your list (we did both of these things), you only pay for what work actually occurred. I used to move a lot for work and had company-paid "professional" movers that pale in comparison to these guys. I honestly can't imagine going with anyone else when moving. The prices are a bit much but the same from store to store and I have even tried the nearby FedEx Kinkos and they have similar results - although I end up waiting longer there. Yesterday John took my package gave me a receipt and I was out in under 5 minutes. I will say often its just timing, as I was heading to the car three others were arriving with several packages. The fees were very reasonable and the experience was great from start to finish. I got an appointment within a day and a half; the appointment time window was only 30 min (practically unheard of!); they texted confirming their actual ETA and arrived on schedule; and they were kind, careful, and efficient. They'd already exceeded expectations, but at the end, they volunteered to move some heavy items I wasn't getting ride of into the garage. One grabbed a broom while in the garage and swept fallen leaves and sticks away from the entrance. Another grabbed a hand truck (with permission) and stacked a few bags of compost on it so it would be easier for me to move it around the yard. They were so observant and thoughtful. By the time they left, they'd practically turned into motivational speakers, showing a level of kindness and encouragement that made me genuinely felt cared for. I truly couldn't be happier.

When we found a date everyone was available Brett assured us the dumpster would be at moms house located in an area he doesn't typically service. After we filled up the 10 yard unit, it wasn't long before we realized we need another roll off dumpster. We needed a bigger one. Another day was coordinated amongst the family and "Can Do Roll Offs" had another one delivered for today. The owner sent me a picture showing where he placed it. I was able to forward the picture to family so they were assured they were not coming from out of state and unable to complete the job. They all felt at peice knowing the 20 yard was ready. (I think most everyone in the world has been promised a service and sadly the company doesnt come through). if you live any where in the Mansfield, Ohio and surrounding area, I encourage you to use Can Do Rolloffs for your roll off needs. I used Uhaul's Ubox service moving my stuff from AZ to FL without any issues whatsoever. I used the…read moresame service from AZ to OH and had issues w/the staff at the Mansfield office (Haley Latore | General Manager). She said she couldn't find our reservation or locate us in the system. I was able to call the main 800# and speak to Sarah who found it no problem. She said the Ohio office was either untrained or maybe didn't want to take the time to look for the original contract for our delivery address. She stated what it was and I told Sarah that was correct, but needed to have our Lot# added. I sent an email to the GM in Mansfield, and gave her the instructions on how to locate our info, and again requested for delivery, and she still refused. So, I called the 800# again, spoke to Bryan, and the same thing, so I went ahead and did everything w/him over the phone and used a different trucking agent instead of Uhaul's, and filed a formal complaint. The Uhaul Ohio Ubox handlers need additional training on this as I found out.

I had rented from them several times in the past, and had pretty good experiences. But recently I…read morerented a piece of equipment from them and when I returned it, I noticed a week later a charge for an additional $265. I questioned them on it and they said I went over the hours on the machine by two hours even though I have pictures of the time when I got it and send it back and it was just a little over an hour and they charged me for 2 hrs so thats how they justified the first $100. but, when I rented it, they never told me that I would be responsible for fuel and that if I didn't fill it up before returning it, they would charge me almost 2 times the going rate for diesel fuel. so another $165 for 22 gallons of diesel so $7.50 a gallon. But it gets worse. When I rented it, I told them I had not used the attachment that I was renting and asked if the person was going to be able to give me direction. They delivered it, he gave me some directions that were wrong, so I assumed that one of the functions was not working, which is why it took me so much longer to do the work. When I returned it, they claimed it was fine and I should've called them and they could have helped me figure out the issue. But again, nobody told me there was a hotline. I could call on memorial day weekend. I assumed since their shop wasn't open, I was on my own. I called to politely discuss it, because I was hoping we could at least split the difference or at least have a fair price on the fuel, and essentially they told me to pound sand. Needless to say, I'll never rent from Cardinal again.
