    Chicken tikka masala

My family and I came here on Valentines Day and had a lovely meal. Perhaps the lower ratings that this place has received has to do with the food quality for take out but I can honestly say, if you dine in, the food will be just right. We ordered a variety: garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, basmati rice, chicken wings (from the kids menu), and my husband had a curry dish that I can't recall the name of. When the food got to our table it became very quiet-even my 10 year old who usually talks non-stop was quiet because he was enjoying his food so much. I like that when we ordered the server asked us what level of spice we prefer which is very important for those of us who don't eat Indian food often. I got my chicken tikka medium and my husband got his curry dish very spicy. The food was cooked to perfection and it's perhaps the best garlic naan I've ever had. I like that the portion sizes were large. We left stuffed and we still were able to take home boxes of food for the next day. Btw it was still delicious warmed up the next day. Show this little hidden gem next time you're hungry, have time to eat in and are on Kirkwood Avenue! Sorry that there aren't pictures of the naan and curry dish but they were gone pretty quickly!

what a cute spot! It's in a strip mall off the side of a relatively busy road and this place was busy for post 9PM! 5/5 on the quick service and friendliness of the staff. I was in the area for work and was looking for an authentic spot I could go too for Indian food and this place did not miss the mark. The portion sizes are appropriate, but if you are looking to leave this place with leftovers, you most likely will not. The texture and flavor of the creamy sauce of the butter chicken was so good, it had my tastebuds singing!

Not a bad place for Indian food in Delaware. We ordered several dishes including Chicken 65, Tandoori Fish, Naan, Mutton Curry, and Chicken Biryani, as well as a mango lassi on the side. The dishes were hit or miss. I personally really enjoyed the chicken 65 and mutton curry, but not the other ones. The naan was decent, and I wish I ordered the dosas. The chicken biryani did not fit my flavor palette, it was very sweet and the spices were not one that I was used to, so I personally did not like it very much. The best part of the meal was definitely the mango lassi. I'd go just for the mango lassi next time.

We came down here for a family dinner for 9. I won't tell you what all 9 of us ate. But let's just say a lot of dosa was had. I can tell you that I truly loved the Chicken 65 and Gobi Manchurian. Both were cooked perfectly and had the right amount of flavor. My Chicken Tikka Dosa was quite tasty. But I thought it had too many veggies and a little light on chicken. Plus it made the dosa a little soggy. Next time I'll probably choose more of a Masala Dosa. I'd definitely return for more appetizers. That's for sure.

Traveling for business and stopped in for dinner with some colleagues. The ambiance was casual and the service was friendly. We ordered two starters, samosas and a corn dish. The corn dish was comprised of baby corn, batter and tossed in a spiced sauce. Both apps were delicious. For my entree, I ordered the butter chicken and a mango lassi, with a side of garlic naan. My meal hit the spot, though I should have ordered a little bit hotter as the "medium" was closer to "mild" for my tastes. Would definitely return.

Food was pretty good. As for the actual restaurant it is very run down. Carpets , tables , menus , restaurants are dire need of upgrades.. The staff was quite confused during my visit. Food is worth a try as take out

Godavari This is our third time ordering take out from here. The food is consistently fresh, ready on time and delicious. They have a pretty extensive menu with a lot of variety to choose from, including vegetarian options. Kosta Curd Rice (yogurt rice) - so good and very healthy. Was a first trying here and love it. Kodi Guddu Special Biryani (egg Biryani), New Delhi Channa Masala (garbanzo beans) and the Tadka Dal Tomato (lentils) are also so good and vegetarian as well. We love Indian cuisine and we've tried a number of different restaurants in DE, Godavari is definitely one of our favorites.

Maharaja has been my favourite restaurant since I was a teenager many moons ago. So just in case…read morethe owners ever read this, I wanted to say thank you for all the years of wonderful service and delicious food :) No other Indian restaurant has ever come close...your food is THE BEST. My husband and I celebrated all our special occasions with food from Maharaja, and even on ordinary weekdays we ordered takeout often. The family who owned it were always such nice people and my husband would often stay and chat with them for a bit when he/we stopped in. Dining in was always such a treat, especially during the Valentine's Day buffet. That was always so fun! The lovely music, the decor and artwork (I liked the painting of the woman with the large nostril hoop on the right wall especially), the beautiful ornate gold vases and pretty little plates the food was served on...everything just had such a nice touch to it. It was peaceful, quiet and felt like home. All of this to say...thank you from my family and me, you will be missed. We wish you the absolute best in whatever comes next, but man what we wouldn't give for one more samosa :)

The wife shared with us stories of her family back and India and told us about regulars who she treats like her own parents since her's has passed. Was in the mood for Indian food, so I found this little gem. Ordered a mango lassi to start and it was absolutely full of flavor and creamy, very refreshing. Had a meat samosa after, which came with a sweet and savory samosa chutney. Had a lamb bryiani, which was beaming with spices. The meat was very tender and the dish was spiced with hints of cinnamon that paired perfect with the savory nature of the rest of the dish. Definitely try this spot right on Capitol Trail at least once.

Thought it was a Mediterranean place but instead I found the restaurant that made me fall in love with Indian cuisine!! Their website is fantastic for previewing what you might wish to order if you are new, like I was, to Indian food. Bright pictures and helpful descriptions of each dish. I went with a friend and we found the food to be so fresh and flavor ful in all the best ways. The potato Samosas were an excellent starter along with the chicken Shawarma which has become a new addiction. So creamy, warm, and filling, simply delicious. I tried the buttery chicken Marsala and an amazing goat dish. They also have shrimp and vegan options. The sauces were aromatic and captivating. The menu had tons of choices only accelerating my need to return to try more. If you love Indian cuisine or have never tried it, come here for a great meal and tasty new horizons!!!!

We had two little kids in the party, but even for the adults the spicy was too much to handle. The cook offered to remake it, and we made the order to-go since it had already been a while. But the second order was as spicy as the first one. Not a good experience.
