One of the highlights of the lunch menu is the inclusion of naan and rice, which perfectly complemented the flavorful curries and tandoori specialties. I ordered the curry chicken and it was very delicious. Tender pieces of chicken with aromatic sauce bursting with spices. The curry sauce was smooth, infused with the warmth of ginger, the fragrance of garlic, and the subtle heat of chili peppers. The portion was also very generous. I couldn't finish it and saved it for dinner. There are 3 levels of spicy, and I choose mild which was good for me. They have medium and spicy as the next two level. Pretty sure you will find something that suits your taste bud. Atmosphere is good for what they have to offer, and the food was delicious. I will definitely come back. read more

We sat down and at Bawarchi today. We are still learning what Indian foods we like and the lady was helpful in helping us order. The six of us shared several dishes. We ordered -Lamb masala -Naan-pudina paratha, garlic, aloo kulcha -Butter chicken -Samosa chaat -Aloo gobi All the dishes were excellent. The flavor was outstanding and delicious. We ordered mild for everything and there was still a little heat in several of the dishes. The seating area was small but could easily seat 20 people. Small Indian Restaurant. I came here for lunch on a weekday and it was full by the time I ate and left. This place is small and kind of a serve-yourself place, other than getting the food. You walk up to a table, pick your seats, and help yourself to the register to grab the menu. When you are ready, you go back to the register and order. After ordering you will get your food and once you're done, you go back to the front to pay and grab to-go bags and boxes as needed. I got the Lamb Masala because I love me some creamy curry over rice. It came out within 5-10 minutes after order and it was delicious! My friend ordered from the lunch menu so the order came with naan. The food was delicious. Let me start by saying the food itself is actually really good. I've been eating here for years about 2 times a year (too spice to be in the regular rotation with our kids). Note they don't really have a mild option on anything, even if you get the lowest spice it is still pretty spicey. Perfect for my wife and I but the kids can't handle it.. That's really just a minor problem. The real problem is ordering and customer service. I ordered online from their website, was notified with a confirmation email that it would take 30 mins before I could pick it up. I got there 30 mins later and they said they never got the order. They asked if I ordered from the website and just casually said "yeah, that website doesn't work". I told them they should take it down so it doesn't happen to others, they just rolled there eyes and asked If i wanted to order... Furious, i walked out. Regrettably I ordered again over the phone 4 days later (I was really craving Indian food). I confirmed the order over the phone and even told them about the experience I had 4 days prior. I go in, pick it up, take it home. Order was missing items..... I called and they said they have no way to deliver the missing items and they don't know how to remove the charges from my credit card. I have been ordering take out for a few months from this place. I can say that I never have had a bad experience. Usually I order the boneless chicken biryani. It has never been bad (dry chicken in the biryani is the most likely culprit), however I did get entirely too much cinnamon one time, which will cost it 5 stars. I did try the tandoori chicken and was pleasantly surprised! This might be the best tandoori chicken I have tried. It was also served over a bed of green colored rice and came with a green sauce. Above and Beyond! I'd say someone in the management has that attention to overall Service... I've been ordering food from here for a little while now - mostly Chicken Biryanis and if you didn't know it, the "Bawarchi" franchise is kinda known for them. This place definitely ensures that or even more but it's the consistency and when I recently ordered an entree this time, I experienced that extra attention, service and learnt they also offer 'lunch special' - if you didn't so far, I suggest you at least find out... FYI: If you're planning a dine-in, set ambience and/or table service expectations accordingly - its mostly self-service but be aware that the place is neat, comfortable but not that big (even after recent remodel). I've only ever ordered takeout but everything is always amazing. Every order comes with a side of basmati (ordered the mistake once to order sides of rice not knowing it already came with). This isn't a knock on the establishment; it's just an observation. That's not why I'm giving three stars, though... While the food was decent, the portions were just small. We ordered the rawa dosa ($9.99), chicken tikka masala ($11.99) and the butter chicken ($11.99). I had the tikka masala and I went to Taco Bell right afterwards to fill myself up. Ordered food to pick up for my family for Diwali dinner around 430pm. Set pick up to be ready between 535 and 545. I received notification that my order was received around 5 and that it would be ready at the time specified. Was told when I walked in after my pickup time that there was another 20 minutes left for my order to be ready. No surprise, it was more than another 20 minutes. I ended up getting my order 45 minutes after I walked in. I don't think my order was even started until after I showed up. Absolutely ridiculous. Would absolutely not recommend. I have been going here for years and they usually make you wait a long time if you want to dine in or take out. I wanted to dine in and take out as well. I called them while i was 10 minutes away to place my order to tell them that i would be dining in and taking out a couple of dishes and the person on the phone refused to take my order and said i had to come in to dine in. I have had Bawarchi food for several years. I am leaving a 1 star review because lately their Naan has been TERRIBLE. Black, hard, brittle, BURNT. It is not at all enjoyable to eat. Out of about 2 batches maybe 2-4 pieces were okay to eat. They used to make good naan, I don't know what happened. Clearly it is being rushed and not prepared with care. Please consider fixing this. I am not trying to be hateful. Overall they have good chicken tikka masala curry, basmati rice, gulab jamun, chicken curry, etc. I am just disappointed with the Naan. WOW! BIG MISTAKE! Recently, friend of mine and I patronized here for lunch on Friday, September 15th at 11:30am. Entered and viewed 2 widescreen TV's with lunch specials listed. After some time, an Indian waiter escorted us to booth and gave us menus with NO LUNCH SPECIALS listed. Taped awkwardly to table top was label with scan in code~waiter was undetectable and absent from scene for long time~ finally showed up with credit card processor/order device to take order~ I was totally unable to understand his speech and projected concept. We finally just pointed to our selections, and specifically requested MILD seasoning. My lunch special came quickly, and was ICE COLD! My guests selection was served 10 minutes later~ It was a chicken gravy dish that could have been substituted as alternative fuel for an Indi car! I love warm & spicy, but tasted and immediately feared another hemorrhoid flair up! We finally sent back and waited another 10 minutes for chicken with no fire! We were brought with tofu! YUK! Then, waiter came back with card reader to process my credit card, and and wanted me to view screen after asking for bill. Advised need ticket, so he ran away in a panic & never came back! Finally, we went to front counter & spent another lonely venue there~ after some $40.00 plus change bill paid, I requested change for $20.00 cash, & was informed they were unable to break! I am really glad I read the reviews before entering. This is a barebones operation. You literally have to get your own plate, fork, napkins, etc. The only "service" you get is your food delivered to the table. In fact, most patrons did carry out service. A recent and LAST visit ever was over the top RUDE. Brought up in the restaurant business I've never left after ordering but I just couldn't make myself stay after not one but several rude comments. Presuming my order was take out then mumbling that I didn't say it was dine-in as he reentered the order. So it's MY FAULT your system is dumb? Then rudely saying it'll be 25 mins! First time in years since we have been here. The food is more delicious than ever. Went out for Lunch with friends from work as a mini Diwali celebration. We each got something different and was able to try a variety of foods and spice levels. Everything was delicious and freshly made to order. I couldnt get enough. Unless you want to wait an extra hour or two for delivery, order somewhere else. The food is delicious and exactly what I'm looking for from Indian takeout, but on multiple occasions, the delivery has been one to two plus hours late. They will not call you to inform you that it will be late and they will not apologize for the food being late. They have also made different excuses each time the food has been late; I can understand once, but not multiple times. I ordered takeout on Christmas Day and was impressed. The food was ready in 15 minutes, piping hot, and very tasty. Bonus: they gave me a discount for paying in cash! I ordered Channa Masala (chick peas), Bhindi Masala (okra) and Pepper Chicken. All three were very good. The spices were legit; curry leaves, coriander seeds, and cardamom were beautifully balanced.
