I just got home from getting a grill bottle filled and what a disappointment! I came here because you imply online you wanted to sell and service bottles! I went and asked the blond behind the counter about pricing, she said ask outside. The guy outside had a line of people and probably wouldn't want to hold up the line for me. I wanted 2each 100 bl bottles, gauges, regulators, and about 20 ft hoses to hookup a grill and a generator. I asked her if you deliver and she said no Forest Hill was to far. I bet you have trucks come by here all the time since you have a place in Arlington and Cleburne. I bet you even get your gas in Bridgeport, my granddad did. I am from Ft Worth and less than 1 hour is a neighbor, and less than 8 hours is just down the road a piece. Blondie needs to go back to New York City! read more

Edit 3: Spoke to Patrick. He was thinking of a different customer showing up last year, and so thought I was making this up. They are going to look at fixing my tanks if parts are available. Edit 2: I can appreciate someone not taking crap of the internet. So I called, was told whoever is responding to this is not in the office, and left my number. The accusations about lies are still ridiculous. This is all the point of view of someone who tried to do business with you three times. Edit: The owner responded to my complaint this very next day by saying I'm dishonest, and that a "real man" would come in person. I did come in person last year. Twice. Then I called yesterday. A real company would have responded without insults. This is fatherless behavior. Additionally, the person responding for Godfrey says they are the man I spoke with who told me they work on portable tanks. The person I spoke with yesterday was a woman. I came in a year ago to have the valves replaced on my 20# horizontal propane tanks. A gentleman met me at their refill station, told me they would be special order, took down my phone number, and sent me home with my tanks. A few months later it hit me that Godfrey hadn't called me back, so I drove back up to check. I don't remember what the office staff told me that day, but it left me sour on the whole thing, so I didn't pursue it. Today I looked at those tanks, thought about it again, and decided to give it another shot. I called this time and was told they don't do RV's. I said that's not what I was told when I brought the tanks in last year, then was told I need to bring them back in. No offer to talk to anyone about model numbers, special orders, pricing, etc. I told them I'll look elsewhere. I'm leaving my experience here and calling another propane service. read more

I have been dealing with Godfrey for a while now and up until recently they've been fine. Over the last three weeks I've gotten the run around about having someone check my tank for leaks. They keep saying they'll get back to me and don't. Finally this week the "scheduled" me for Friday but no called/no showed. If you can't (or don't want to) accommodate just tell me. Have been going here for a few years and have been mostly satisfied with the service. It is always pretty quick and easy to get propane for my grill and the price is good. There has never really been a line and they come out to your car to fill the tanks and they even are more than willing to lift them into the back for you without asking when full which I appreciate. For the first time recently I was able to use the Yelp discount to make the price even better than normal. My last experience couldn't have gone better with how nice the guy was and they have never given me a hard time about the age of my one tank which is getting up there but still in good shape. I do however wish they had an option for tank exchange when yours wears out. I have inquired to know what to do when that day comes and have been left mostly frustrated with the answer. They have lectured me many times about how propane is non-corrosive and tank exchange cheats people of propane since companies don't fill them all the way up which I understand and I'm not saying I would want to do regularity, but the only option I have with them to replaced my aging tank is to throw it out and buy a new one. That leaves me with a useless junk tank that I have to find a way to dispose of properly and will cost me twice as much for that fill up since new ones are purchased empty so you end up paying more than two times as much that day. Also the new tanks have extremely useful gauges on them which I prefer so you can know when you're about to run out and not be left hanging in the middle of cooking with inedible food when you didn't know you were that low. That is ultimately why I bought a second tank and it does have a gauge but I had to buy it from Costco since Godfrey did not have the gauge ones to sell me at that time. I'm not sure if they have them now but they do know that they exist. Basically if all you need is a refill this is the place to go but if your tank needs recertified which you are supposed to do every decade or so or you want to upgrade and exchange it for a gauge one then you are pretty much on your own to figure it out here. read more

The owner spent an hour at least repairing a valve on my Class B RV. Would not accept any additional money for the repair, just charged me for the products I bought. I would (and will) drive an hour out of my way to do business with such a first class company. read more

You get your moneys worth. A full tank at a fair price. Also friendly service and helpful with any related propane problems.

if you lease a tank from godfrey, no one can fill it except godfrey. don't run out of gas or your up the creek. to get gas you have to be put into a delivery schedule. it might be 2 or 3 days before you have gas again. God help you if you have gas heat and it's cold. very poor business practices especially going into a four day weekend. read more
