This was the best breakfast I've had here in Adelaide. Ordered the Pummelled Pumpkin- Basil pesto,…read moregrill asparagus, crispy kale, parmigiana reggiano, poached egg on dark rye. The composition of the dish was well balanced, multi-layered and aesthetically pleasing. We also tried the baked egg with scallops- very savory and hot! Well balanced with the creamy poached eggs and cauliflower purée at the bottom paired with the crunchy pangrattato and crispy bacon. Would definitely order again Delicious!! Their coffee is excellent - super smooth. We were lucky to sit upstairs at the bar seating and witnessed them roasting their own coffee beans. No wonder the coffee is so tasty. I just wish the serving size was bigger so I could have more haha.

The place was very light and airy. We sat on the ground level, but there is also an indoor balcony area and a couple outdoor tables. I was very happy with the bloody Mary, got a good depth of flavor and a moderate spicy level. I LOVED the whipped avo. It was basically a deconstructed avocado toast. The avo was so light and fluffy and tangy, absolutely amazing on its own, but then to pair it with the feta, pickled rhubarb and the beautiful artisan toast - I ate every last crumb and wished there were more.

Woohoo feels good to put up a review after a long break! I've known about the Middle Store after…read moreseeing it on Yelp some months ago, but I didn't notice it was around where I live. It was a friend who wanted to come here and after he reminded me it was Rose from Masterchef who ran the cafe, I agreed to try it. While that's pretty awesome, something way cooler happened! Towards the end of our meal, Georgia Barnes (2015 runner up) and Jessie Spiby (2015) came into the cafe for coffee. Lucky us right? My only regret was not asking for a photo with the three of them. Onto the review. As usual I was pretty indecisive and tend to go for a burger option if I can't decide, so I ordered the lamb kofta burger while my friend went for the Lebanese Mezze Breakfast. The wait wasn't too lengthy and my burger was pretty tasty. It's a different type of burger than what I'd normally have, because this one was really fresh and quite light. There was plenty of hummus along with pickled cabbage, cucumber, tomato and a bed of rocket. It stands out visually with the colours. The kofta patty was not bad but I felt it was a bit on the thin side, because there was quite alot of turkish bread that formed the buns. And yeah, as a result the whole experience was quite bready for me but thanks to the hummus and the veges the burger wasn't dry. My friend also wanted to try one of their house made tarts as well so I just had a little bit. It was a passionfruit curd one and it was decent, not too sweet and refreshing due to the passionfruit. But at $4.50 for what's essentially a mini-tart it's getting on the pricey side. I would have gone for a baklava if I was craving a sweet pastry. The interior is very clean looking and inviting, on par with alot of the nicer cafes around the city. The prices are solid ($10.50) for the lamb burger and the breakfast ($15.50). The location is one reason I'd come back- no need to drive to the city just for brunch or lunch. There's a few other things I'd like to try as well if I come back. Overall, a good find and the timing of our visit was impeccable!

A cafe that recognises the value of table service is never underrated. To know that you can sit and…read morewhile away the hours talking to friends without having to keep an eye out for a break in the line to order at the counter is a blessing and an easy way to up sell that "do you want another coffee?" A simple menu of seasonal, organic produce gives you a pick of eggs, muesli and toast for breakfast. And they are serious when they say organic and seasonal because avocados and tomatoes "weren't in season" when we went. But there was still plenty of mushrooms, spinach, sweet potato rosti and beetroot relish to fill up my plate of sourdough rye toast and poached eggs. The coffee is lovely here but unfortunately they don't use Bonsoy. And the Just Brewed green tea on the menu is most heavenly and light green tea I have ever tasted. Prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality of food, table service and size of meals and I'm now planning my next trip back for lunch and an excuse to meet over tea and dessert!

All the Earth loving, green juice drinking and chia seed munching people of Adelaide will be jumping for joy! It's mainly a cafe but also has a selection of health foods along with organic fruit & veggies. I must stress that this isn't where you would go for a traditional greasy hangover cure big breakfast but if you are looking for a trendy guilt free breakfast place which isn't laden with calories then you'd love it. They have an extensive cold pressed juice menu - I loved my orange & ruby grapefruit (insider tip aren't on the menu but up on an inconspicuous chalkboard) and the French Toast was to die for namely because of the amazing berry sauce/jam -- if you have a sweet tooth then this is for you. My partner had the seasonal breakfast with bacon and although enjoyable overall the bacon seemed to be boiled not fried which he didn't particularly love. The service was friendly and it's table service which is always a lovely touch and seems to be a long lost art these days. There was no outrageous line on a Sunday morning at 10am which is good - it is quite a large space. It left me feeling all zen and healthy post breakfast and can't wait to come again. Namaste.
