Very pleased with my visit! I had a minor dental emergency, the veneer on my front tooth came off! It was well over 10 years old and done at another dentist office. When I called to make an appointment, they were able to fit me in on the same day! The Doctor was awesome! She was able to put it back on even though it was time for a new one and wasn't sure what kind of cement had been used before or what kind was needed. She explained, very thoroghly, my options, without being pushy, and answered all my questions. The assistant who helped, went above and beyond by making sure my daughter was comfortable during my visit by giving her a place to sit and turning the tv on to cartoons! i have the same problem,when my left side of my face begging to swollen i was is so much pain i went back they saw my face(front office staff) and then she say,well the doctor(tait g. carpenter) she will be back in two days i was like i need u to contact her please. she can't recieve calls while of dudy?! she say no she has no emergency contact number. huh???!! Date - 02/2014 I've been going to this dentist for about 7 years, but as of a couple months ago, I have decided to move to another dentist due to a couple of issues that occurred recently. First, my daughter had an appointment that fell during a holiday (I believe it was the Martin Luther King holiday), so I drove the thirty minute drive from our house and found that their office was closed, I sat there for about ten minutes and finally a woman came out around the side of the bldg and told me that they were, in fact closed, and that they had tried to contact all their patients and let them know that the office would be closed, I told her that they had not called me nor had they left a message on my voice mail. I was ticked off and decided that if they couldn't call and let me know that our appointment would have to be changed to another day, then they didn't really need my business. Secondly, a couple months after switching to this other dentist, a crown that had been put in by Matthew Allen's office broke, and when I called to see if they would fix it, the office manager told me that the warranty for the crown was only good for 5 years, and since this crown was put in 6 years ago, they would not cover any replacement on it. I couldn't believe that they wouldn't cover a new crown for me, when I had previously had a crown that was put in when I was in the U.S. Coast Guard that had lasted more than 20 years, and when they had gone to take this one out to put a newer crown, they had struggled to get it out. In my opinion, this shows you that either this crown was defective or was not put in properly. Also, when I called to tell the dentist office about the crown, I specifically asked to speak to Matthew Allen himself, the owner of this practice. Consequently, I never spoke to Doctor Allen after calling and asking to speak directly to him a couple different times, and so this was either his doing or the doings of his office manager. Due to the issues that I have explained above, I would NOT recommend this dentist. Update - 01/16/2015. It has been more than a year since I switched to a new dentist office, and just today I received a letter from Godley Station Dental. This letter told me that due to my lack of "cooperation" they would extend their services to me for 30 more days and after that they recommended that I find another dentist. LOL, this is so hilarious because after more than a year of letting them know that I had transferred to another dentist, they are just now sending me a letter. I think that they sent this letter to me now because I had a second crown fail two weeks ago, and I told them that I wanted them to fix it because it was put in about a year and a half ago, and I knew that it was still covered under their five year crown warranty. Also, I read a comment about a woman who was told by this dentist office that they were not going to replace her failed crown even though it was still covered by the five year crown warranty. She needs to go back to them and tell them that they are obligated to follow their warranty contract and replace her crown or pay her back if she has already had it done by someone else. read more

Beware of Godly Station Dental! Took my daughter in and they said she had four cavities and another tooth that needed a root canal. My motherly intuition kicked in right away since it hadn't even been six months since her last visit where she had a root canal done. After talking with close friends and hearing about their stories of Godly Station dental I quickly set her up for a second opinion at a dental office that came recommended. And thankfully so! We had her X-rays sent over to the other office and today was her appointment. She does NOT have four cavities nor does she need a root canal! She does have one teeny tiny cavity that will need a small filling though. I am truly sickened to my core and felt compelled to share our story. I am also thankful that I went with my gut instincts and can't even imagine if I would have went through with their dental plan to get four teeth senselessly filled and a root canal that she never needed. I would have hated myself! I'm not sure if they are running a scam or that their dentists are that incompetent, either way, steer clear of this dental office or you'll end up with fillings you never needed!!!! read more

This is not ranting session about the staff or the pay. I was extremely content to see the nice new building and friendly staff greet me on my first visit. I decided to get a cleaning done but with little did i know it would be a future nightmare. After my first visit i was "convinced" that i needed 4 crowns which cost 500 bucks a piece. Never did i get offered a financial plan or anything to help pay for these procedures. Crown #1- tooth came in but didnt fit. Had to re submit to lab for fixing. Came back two weeks after, (with temporary killing me) and the dentist who wasnt the original had no idea if my tooth had came in or not. Turns out it did not so we had to reschedule.....again! I just loathe on missing work to go to unproductive dentist appointments. Came back and got the first crown finished and started the next 2....holy crap. Numbing machine wasnt working, felt sharp pains throughout the entire 2 hour nightmare, and of course, still feeling pain. Doctor offered next time i go back they could prescribe me laughing gas because of my how nervous i seemed. ha what a money sucking place. What did i learn? Dont be fooled by nice buildings and friendly staff. Do your research!!! Did i really need a crown? read more

DO NOT VISIT Godley Station Dental. They are in no way accommodating, the bill you receive after an appointment is outrageous, and the receptionist is not friendly. In addition, the dentist seemed to favor cosmetics over health. read more

The facility and most of the staff were great, I had a great cleaning done. However at checkout they knew I did not have dental insurance and was paying out-of-pocket. I was told the price and paid it. I needed a small follow up procedure, was told the price, came back had it done and paid it. Then I receive a bill in the mail for $100 that has no explanation what it is for. So I call and ask for an explanation and was told that I was accidentally given the price for people with insurance and the out-of-pocket price is another hundred dollars. I was put in touch with a girl from their accounting department that when I asked if I was supposed to be responsible for their error, she said yes. I told her that they were the one that made the mistake so they should eat the cost, and I told her that I like that place but if I need to come in there and pay this, I will take my family's business elsewhere seeing as how we just moved to Pooler. My impression of her response was that she could really care less. I don't really blame her because this does not really affect her at all but I do think it's bad business. read more

After calling and setting my appointment, I was "greeted" by a very unprofessional, cold hygienist who was abrupt, rude and overall just an unfriendly person. During my appointment and procedure, this hygienist and the actual dentist performed the procedure and didn't check my bite to make sure it was correct. After a day and a half, the procedure was worthless and I was right back where I started. When I called on a Saturday on their emergency line, supposedly their two dentists were BOTH out of town and had no back-up dentist to assist me (right, so when there's someone with their wisdom teeth out and they begin to bleed out, there's no one to check them out?) so I was to call back Monday to set up an appointment. I followed their directions and when I went back to the seat, the same lovely hygienist was there to actively argue with me as to what products they could offer me and left me unattended for about 30m while the dentist was helping another patient. (although I was there on time for my appointment) This was by in far the WORST experience I've ever had at any dental office and this is someone who grew up with Tricare and moved around the world with many different dentists and physicians. When I was leaving (had my 3 y/o with me) she politely and inquisitively asked the hygienist "what are you doing?" while she was typing notes on her computer. Her response was, "I'm doing some notation on your momma's chart. Is that OKAY with you?" As if my 3 y/o actually knew the context of what she said. I hope they feel confident that their SUGAR COOKIES (they give you sugar cookies when you leave after a procedure - superb idea for a a dental office - wonder if the ADA recommends that?) will retain their current clients because they sure as heck can't satisfy new ones with that attitude. read more

I am highly disappointed in an incident that occurred at this office. A month ago I called to make an appointment. The appointment was for a cleaning for both my son and myself. It was scheduled for 1:00 pm. October 13 th. When I arrived, I was told by a rather, condescending, ingenuine blonde receptionist I was not in the computer and probably had the wrong office. I am not one to argue, but I know I did not have the wrong office because I asked for an appointment after 3:30 because my son is in school and was told they don't take new patients that late because the office opens at 7:00 am. I also asked on the phone if they were located just pass the new hotel being built and was told yes. There is no other office in Pooler that opens at 7:00 and just pass the new hotel being built. I set this date and time because my son was off of school. I planned our day around this appointment and for this to happen is unacceptable from professionals. The receptionist was condescending because she was laughing and smirking like I was stupid and didn't belong there. She didn't even offer to try and find me an appointment. It was clear she didn't want us there. I guess I should have known when I didn't get a reminder call but I thought maybe the office just didn't do those. I am highly frustrated and disappointed in this lack of professionalism and rude treatment. I am also disappointed that I wasted an entire day that I can't get back and did not receive the service I was expecting. I sent an email to the office but did not receive a response. Maybe, the receptionist received it and deleted it. I just can't believe doctors would allow potential patients to be treated this way. I have lived all over the country and have never been treated this way ... where's the southern hospitality? read more

I have been going to this dental office for several years now. I have not had any problems with my dental work and my hygenist is always pleasant. Dr. Allen is always very nice and attentive as well. I have had several problems however, with the billing. The billing manager is rude and argumentative every time I deal with her. She is not professional. When she calls you she begins talking to you as if she is a friend and does not introduce herself as being from the dental office. I have caught two instances of being "over-billed." The first occured when they did not take the allowance from the insurance company. I noticed something did not look right on my bill and contacted my insurance company. They informed me of what my portion should be and I had to basically run around to get it corrected. It took me about 2 hours or more of my time to get it straightened out. The second problem was a payment that I made to them with my debit card. After receiving a bill in the mail I knew the amount did not seem correct. I reviewed the charges and payments and looked back at my bank statement and found that they had not given me credit for my payment. When I called to discuss this the billing manager basically told me, too bad and what did I want her to do about that. I had to once again spend several hours getting my information together and faxing it over to prove that I had made a payment to them. After several days this was finally corrected. My problem with this is that I am wondering how many people this is happening to that are not realizing it. They have to see that the books are not matching up. Makes me wonder. I will be finishing the work that I need done so that it is consistent but once I have it completed I will be changing dental offices. It is sad because I do like Dr. Allen and my hygenist, but I can not handle the unreliability of the billing. I can not afford it! read more

The dentist and hygienist were great. No complaints. However, their office staff was misleading when I was making my first appointment. When I called to ask if my insurance was accepted, the receptionist simply said, "we take all PPO insurance" which is what I have. I scheduled a cleaning for my husband and I (which should be covered 100%) and a week later, we got a bill. Apparently, they will FILE all PPO claims but that doesn't mean they are contracted with your insurance. So have to spend $100 on something that should have been free. I think when someone calls to make sure their insurance will be accepted, the receptionist should clarify that they have no way of knowing if your plan is accepted, instead of making it sound like everything is fine. When I called the office about this, the receptionist did not seem to get how that was misleading and was not able to offer any support. Very annoyed. read more

Beware! My son had a filling done earlier this year. He was brought to the checkout desk and told to pay for the visit which he did, using my Health Savings card. What we didn't know was they turned around and billed my dental insurance as well, which paid for the visit too. So, they double billed for the same service. The extra money they got was just put on my account, they never mentioned it. I sure heard from my Health Savings card though, they wanted me to pay back what they had paid because the dental insurance had covered it. When I called the office manager she was very rude and defensive. She said they NEVER check peoples dental insurance coverage. They just do whatever services they want and charge the patient, regardless of whether it is a covered procedure. Wish I had known that beforehand. What an underhanded way to do business. I've never encountered a business where they did not take your insurance, bill them, and then have you pay the portion left (if any). Needless to say we will not return to Godley Station Dental and when people ask me who is a good dentist in Pooler I tell them who is NOT a good place to go to. So, beware!! read more
