I love thrift shops and I'm always up for thrift shopping. So, after driving past this place for…read morealmost two years without knowing it IS a thrift shop, when we finally realized that it is, we we were excited to stop in. At first glance, parking looks completely stupid. It looks as though there are only two parking spots, frequently taken by the employees. This isn't actually the case, though. But we didn't figure that out until months later. Had we figured it out sooner, we'd have been there more often. Now that we know, we will do just that. There's actually a shared lot to the south of the building; it's easy to miss so keep your eyes open! This is no ordinary thrift shop. They've got the coolest, most iconic goodies from eras past. Being an 80s kid, this little shop is packed full of delights I recognize from those days. Toys, old cameras, collectibles, footwear, memorabilia.... they've even managed to stuff an old VW Beetle inside. Rad. Oh and the vintage clothing! Good gravy, it's everywhere! It's perfect for us, as cosplayers. We've found so many pieces for our cosplays here that we couldn't find anywhere else at way better prices than ordering online. Love this shop! Admittedly, my slight claustrophobia creeps up when inside but that's because this place is SO stuffed full of spectacular vintage goodness. Even if you're not in the market for buying anytime, stop in and take a look around.

At…read morefirst glance, it looks like you're about to hit the jackpot--but once you start browsing, it feels a bit underwhelming. From a distance the shelves look full, but up close there isn't much that stands out. Kind of a "Mona Lisa effect"--better from afar than up close. That said, the staff was friendly. One woman who worked there--short, wore glasses--was especially kind, though I didn't catch her name. The store is laid out nicely, and they had a lot of furniture available. If you're furniture shopping, this might actually be a good stop; the pieces looked decent and reasonably priced. They also appeared to use a color-tag discount system, though I'm not sure if it changes daily. About half the store was clothing, and the other half was bric-a-brac and furniture. I personally didn't find much this visit, but it could've just been an off day. I'd consider checking back in a couple of weeks to see if inventory changes. I did leave with one fun find: a vintage floating pool drink holder shaped like a rainbow, with space for ice and drinks--super cute and only $5. On the flip side, some prices felt off, like used wrapping paper priced at $3 when you can get a new roll at Dollar Tree for $1. Overall, it's worth checking out, especially for furniture, but don't go in expecting major thrifting treasures. Pretty cool that they are open on a Sunday, though. I will give them that. A medium size parking lot right in front. And a big grassy area if you have a dog that needs to go to the bathroom. Check it out? Definitely! Are there better thrift stores in Lakeland? Definitely!

I'm not sure what exactly to make of this thrift store. It's a strange mish-mash of things. The…read morebuilding appears to be in decent condition but the a/c wasn't working properly and the workers kept grumbling about it. Many, if not most of the items were extremely picked over and in poor condition and over-priced. Then, those exact same items were price-tagged in red and were only 50 cents that day. Was that deliberate to sell them or just a coincidence? Also, certain price tag colors had discounts but it depended upon the cashier to determine if they were going to honor that discount or not. They had appliances in bad shape; broken, rusty, and no price tags. On the other hand, many pieces of furniture on the floor appeared to be right out of a store and priced quite high ($150 for one end table) for a thrift shop. Are they new or used? Some were obviously used, others I just couldn't tell. The clothing section was very large and seemed quite poor. Although, a woman before me found a treasure trove of '80s suits someone donated in excellent shape and she bought them all. I'm not interested in them, but it did get me thinking that if one was hunting for things like that, then this place would be one to keep in mind. There was a media room (electronics?, not sure) and books in another area through a doorway, that I did not check out. Only the cashiers were masked. The workers stocking things were masked when we first arrived but soon took them off, and were grumbling about that as well. They seemed to grumble about a lot of things. The biggest problem with this thrift shop is that the loading of purchases and the unloading of donations happen in the same area: the front doors of the store. People show up in very large pick-up trucks with flat bed trailers and park in front of the store and literally block the doors and make the first row of parking spaces very difficult to pull in and out of. Will we come back here? Maybe. Might wait a few months and check this place out again.

Wonderful organization, one man's unwanted to helping the needy. I donate all my unwanted items to…read morethem
