First off, I want to apologize. Mr. Yoon as I could've sworn I submitted a Yelp Review after he…read moretook on my personal affairs. Mr. Yoon saw me from a million miles away as I entered the courtroom and nervously waited for my time to present my appeal and request for work/medical license due to legal ramifications I had placed myself in due to my negligent abuse of alcohol which when coupled with my untreated alcoholism led my DUI and to my criminal conviction and revocation of my rights to operate a motor vehicle until my sentence, probationary fees, and other legal fees were accounted for. Mr. Yoon approached me in the courthouse in 2015-2016, apologies for the gap in time as the specific date alludes me, as our greatest enemy is time, but I digress. Mr. Yoon identified that I was walking into a metaphorical minefield as it was extremely obvious that I was out of my depth when I walked in. He briefly asked me about my situation I was in and represented me and assisted me with my appeal in my case. He requested that I submit a Yelp Review, I could've sworn I already wrote one, but I have found myself in a moment of retrospection, reminiscing about how noble and just his shear presence was and how comforting he was during my state of vulnerability. I regret that the DUI happened at all in the first place and that I lost the career that I loved so much. But I am thankful that no one was hurt or killed as a result of my stupidty as I firmly know I would not be able to live with myself if I caused undue harm or death to my fellow american(s) or human being. I found myself yearning to address this once more to hopefully mentor someone that may be going through a bad time in their life that it is OK to reach out for support as there are many other people out there amongst us that have fallen into war with themselves and their past, present, and the fear and uncertainty that the future holds for us. But if we arm ourselves with knowledge and build each other up rather than tear each other down as Mr. Yoon exemplifies by his character and willingness to help those that lack proper representation. In my closing statements, I hope to leave these breadcrumbs to help other lost souls and pay it forward, because without a person like Mr. Yoon, I would not be the man I am today. Sometimes we can't see the forest for all the trees. - John Heywood Everyday is a new day, and although we in our life may face bad days, remember that we have resources available to us and that sometimes it's our mindset that causes these feelings of incompetency that misguide us and only harm us further. I ended up wasting six months and about $4K, paid in fees, with no outcome with Geller Law. I was first requested to have a mandatory paid initial consultation session to go over my legal help needed. I was introduced to Julie S. during this session. After describing my specific case & needs, she informed me that Geller Law can handle my case. What followed was months of emotional stress & redundant conversations with the staff of this firm that yielded no results. It became clear to me that they didn't know how to legally handle my case. Some staff members were argumentative & appeared trying to take advantage of this emotional situation for me. There were redundant conversations that I was later billed for. I concluded that this firm is not the choice that can handle my case professionally. I terminated my work with them. The new law firm I selected to handle my case turned out to be more knowledgeable for my case. And, more compassionate with me. The process was handled smoothly & professionally to completion.

When I decided to get an attorney, the one thing I knew was that I didn't want to be just another client at a mega injury firm you see on television. It was my belief that a smaller firm with a dedicated staff would be the David I needed to go up against Goliath. Meeting with Doug Landau and his team and asking them to represent me was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Doug knows the intricacies of WC and injury law, he knew how difficult the numerous procedures and surgeries were for me, both physically and mentally, and often, he knew exactly when to simply listen. Doug has a rare gift to read people, situations, and adversaries. His professionalism, humanity, and focus carries over to his amazing team of legal professionals. I was a human being to them and no question I asked was too small or too dumb. During what is often the worst time in someone's life, Doug Landau and his colleagues are the people you want in your corner. I can promise you one thing...you'll never regret having Abrams Landau fighting to help make your life as whole as possible; they make your struggle theirs. I will always have the utmost respect for Doug and each and every person in his office.

My experience with Melone Hatley was ultimately very disappointing and emotionally exhausting…read more Family law matters are already stressful, expensive, and deeply personal, which is why communication, transparency, and client support are so important. Unfortunately, those were the exact areas where my experience fell short. While there were moments where I felt heard and some staff members showed professionalism and genuine effort, the overall handling of my case felt inconsistent and at times neglected. The biggest issue throughout my experience was the lack of communication and responsiveness from the firm, particularly while working with attorney Valerie Fisher. There were long periods where I felt completely left in the dark regarding important updates, case strategy, timelines, and next steps. I often had to follow up repeatedly just to get basic information or clarification. Instead of feeling guided through the legal process, I frequently felt like I was chasing answers and trying to piece together what was happening on my own. When someone hires a law firm, especially for family law matters involving major life decisions, stress, and emotional hardship, they expect communication to be proactive, organized, and compassionate. Clients should not have to constantly wonder whether their concerns are being prioritized or whether anyone is actively paying attention to their case. Unfortunately, that is exactly how I felt much of the time. To be fair, I do not believe every interaction was negative. There were moments where professionalism and care were shown, which is why I would describe the experience as bittersweet rather than entirely terrible. However, those positive moments were outweighed by the ongoing frustration caused by inconsistent communication, delayed responses, and the overall feeling that my case was not being handled with the level of urgency or attention it deserved. Legal representation is not just about filing paperwork or appearing in court. It is also about making clients feel informed, supported, and confident during one of the most difficult periods of their lives. Sadly, I did not feel that support here, and the lack of communication created additional stress during an already difficult situation. I genuinely hope the firm improves its client communication, responsiveness, and case management practices moving forward because those issues can make an enormous difference in a client's overall experience and trust in their legal representation.

I wanted to explain the situation, bring all documentation, and get an honest assessment as to whether or not I should be concerned about this meritless suit -- could this potentially become a serious headache and attempt to just get me to spend a lot of money for a case that would, no doubt, be dismissed? Lee listened to me; he asked the right questions; and confirmed my assumptions that the other attorney threatening a lawsuit had no legal bearing to do so. I felt so much better after our consultation, at least knowing that 1) What I assumed was validated; and 2) If I receive further threats against this attorney, I know who to call and who will be able to help me put a stop to the nonsense and abuse to our legal system. The consultation with Lee was worth every penny!

In this case, unable to handle getting dumped by his ex, Plaintiff - Mr. Atchuthan Sriskandarajah (an attorney himself) - filed a defamation complaint against his ex & two other parties. The complaint was rather stupid and had very little substance. Mr. Lee Berlik represented the Defendants and absolutely crushed the Plaintiff. In fact, during discovery, when the Plaintiff realized that the case was backfiring on him, it was hilarious to see the Plaintiff cave in so quickly from his original request of $2.5 million down to 10,000 dollars. In the end, Plaintiff did not get even a penny & his case didn't make it past the demurrer. Plaintiff even tried going to the supreme court but the supreme court did not even want to listen to such a stupid complaint. I know enough about defamation law to tell a good attorney from a bad one. Lee is the best defamation attorney & knows the law inside out. I would highly recommend Lee!

DON'T HIRE Kimberly Berry for an employment discrimination matter, especially not on a retainer or…read moreyou will regret it! These cases should only be performed on a contingency agreement and only by a knowledgable/trustworthy attorney. I hired Ms Berry in May 2020 for a "disability discrimination" case which she told me she believed she could settle with my former employer within a month or 2. After paying her $450 for a consultation and BEFORE hiring her for a steep $9,000 retainer, Ms Berry explained the steps she would take in my case in writing which were to be the following: 1- Draft/edit/submit a demand letter 2- Negotiate settlement 3- Draft/edit/submit a settlement agreement She also indicated that there were other methods she could pursue including filing with the EEOC. In her same email she stated, "IF your case is to settle early (after the above 3 steps were completed), there will a refund of remaining funds in the retainer." Ms Berry offered full representation and to fight hard for my case which is ultimately what led me to hire her/firm. Unfortunately, from the onset, there were constantly delays. It took Ms Berry roughly 2 months to submit the demand letter and 3 months before I received my 1st bill. Ms Berry later explained that my case was 'long and drawn out because my former employer changed counsel,' and Ms Berry had to forward the email with the demand letter attachment to new counsel. As a result and at the end of the 4th month, I received a letter from her firm indicating that my entire retainer had been used up, and she needed $2,000 more to continue working on my case. This was despite only completing 1 of the 3 above steps and opposing counsel hadn't even responded yet. When opposing counsel did respond they indicated they would not negotiate and Ms Berry was ready to give up my case and became unwilling to file with the EEOC like she had initially discussed as an option before hiring. She said she could no longer help me, surrendered my case, and encouraged me to hire another attorney who specialized in cases like mine!!! She also said that less than 1-2% of cases she takes before the EEOC are successful! What was possibly even more frustrating was when I asked her if I could file a lawsuit in EITHER a State or Federal court w/o getting the "right to sue" from the EEOC and she incorrectly explained that this was not possible w/o EEOC's "right to sue." I ended up hiring another attorney (on a contingency) who explained that you can in fact file a lawsuit in state court w/o the EEOC's right to sue, directly contradicting Ms Berry's statement. Ms Berry claims to have over 20 years of experience in employment law, but either she was unaware of the law, or intentionally misled me so she could drop my case without putting up a fight. Regardless, she spent more time arguing with me over the billing and how her firm "was very fair and could have charged me an additional $3,000 but chose not to" than fighting for my case. DON'T HIRE! -Justin P.S. Berry and Berry don't bother to respond to this post unless you agree to refund the $5,000 requested. Your firm has caused enough in damages to me.
