Amazing time with Goff and Anne!!! It was our first time surfing and I'm so glad we did the semi-private lesson. They took their time with us, were incredibly encouraging and taught us so much. It's clear they really know what they're doing, and also know how to just make it a really fun experience. Also had a TON of photos and a video at the end capturing everything. Couldn't have asked for a better experience, 10/10!

I paddle board quite a bit w my dog but never in the ocean - only in the harbor, bay and lakes. So I wanted to take this tour to help me understand ocean safety more and learn about waves and wind conditions. It was a great experience and I'm glad I did it - Goff was patient and also great at explaining things. Now I feel that I can safely ocean paddle myself and have a great/safe time!

Goff and his staff absolutely crushed it. I was more than happy at the end of my kids surf lessons, they were 8 and 11. Goff's timeliness, professionalism, superb attitude, great surfing instruction, and positivity were a welcome add-on to our family vacation in Laguna. We had never surfed before and both my kids got up several times, and were thrilled they were able to venture into the ocean, and the experience will last them a lifetime. If you ever get a chance to do surf lessons near Laguna, look up Goff, you wont be disappointed. I was provided no monetary incentive to write this review whatsoever, and I usually don't take the time to write reviews but I want to help others get "The Gift of Goff." Laguna has a good one in Goff, I hope they are making sure the right businesses are appreciated and supported as they are integral to the fabric of what makes Laguna so different from other cities.

I spoke with SlyDog the next morning, and throughout the rest of the week they really took his time with him. He ended up loving everything about the experience once he felt safe. There are a decent number of instructors in the water watching and guiding, and they do an outstanding job with the kids, he was surfing by the end of the second day, and had an absolute blast. I highly recommend these guys! This year he wants to master surfing and we're signed up for several back-to-back weeks. Counting the seconds!

She even has done Laguna and Crystal Cove Junior Guards. However, she just wouldn't try surfing with me. So, I enrolled her in a private lesson. I spoke to Amy on the phone and she understood. She recommended Jorge because he has kids of his own. Jorge was great. Right away she hopped up and rode wave after wave. He was proactive at identifying good waves and giving her a slight push with verbal instructions. Afterwards, she kept asking me for a board and to go back surfing.. Even if you are a great surfer, there are many advantages of getting a lesson for your child. They have wet suits and giant foam boards. This saves money instead of going out and spending two or three hundred when your kid might not even like it. Using a larger board is the way to go and it eliminates the frustrations of learning on a shorter board. Jorge was great. He was proactive, engaging, and well versed with kids. I ended up buying a used foam board for her to practice more on. As she progresses, she can get a regular board This is a great place to take a lesson. Open communication and the follow-through makes me a fan and then some! Don't just go to the beach and take selfies to post. That behavior ruins the beach and it's a stupid way to live a fake life. Take a lesson and get in the water. Enjoy the ocean for all it has and have someone else take real pictures of you enjoying it! A nickel says you will have a blast Or, give your kids a great experience they will always remember. They make it easy here!

Very accessible to reach via text and email. Waivers required as well. Now having tried this for the first time in the ocean, I recommend a harbor paddle if the waves may intimidate you or, even, wear my own O'Neill life jacket (jacket is more for returning back to shore). This activity was one for our friends' bucket lists and we all had the best day!! Yelp recommendations did not leave me astray. Thank you! Decided to plan a paddle board rental and beach day with friends for a birthday surprise. If you're planning something like this, I also recommend a patio lunch at the Rooftop Lounge as it is not far either from theLaguna Beach location where we met Erin. We were a small group of four and she accommodated us perfectly. The weather was perfect this week so we didn't need to adjust the time of the excursion either so we enjoyed an early evening two-hour rental. The sunset-ish vibes were incredible too, to be on the ocean. She met us and had our boards and paddles, dry bag (if needed), and our floatation safety equipment on the beach ready for us. She guided us with specific instructions to get out over the waves. She then walks us out with our board and makes sure we go out one-by-one. It was such a rush to get over those waves, because I admit, the ocean can be intimidating. All the places I've swam before, I've never really encountered waves this big or a boat dropped me off to snorkel. Waves are just another element. The best advice was being on our knees and just digging the paddle into the water as fast as possible and next thing I know, we are all out in the ocean having the best time! The experience is amazing and we haven't laughed like this in a long while. I stood up to paddle board only twice, but I fell on the first try. I admit, I felt much more comfortable paddling while on my knees. It was perfect. Note: SAFELY return to shore, come in one-at-a-time as Erin instructs. She and a lifeguard were amazing and helped us return. For me, it was much needed. I am so thankful for their assistance. Those waves, man oh man, a big lesson for me that day, but we are all still reeling, laughing and talking about the day. FYI: If choosing a longer rental as we had, I'd recommend using her dry bag and bring water, a small towel (in case you do go in the water and need to dry salt water from eyes as that does sting) Also, use durable ziplocs to secure anything you may get wet. I also had my phone in one of those necklace protector sleeves and it took surprisingly took great photos through the plastic. Reminder for me to also secure the dry bag on the paddle board straps much more securely too as it did get wet, on accident, in the water when I was returning to shore. The waves knocked the bag off the board but easily retrieved. Just wet because I didn't close it properly-oops. Actually, just assume whatever you take into the ocean will get wet. One friend did lose her Ray Bans, but Erin warned us prior. Oops! Nonetheless, the best birthday surprise!!! So much fun!!! I highly recommend a beach day paddle boarding (find an area you're comfortable with the waves though or stick to the harbor). Don't hesitate to check with Erin because she is so helpful and knowledgeable. Thank you again, Erin, for such a great beach experience.
