I thought my LA Fitness membership would get me in. It had never failed me in the USA…read more Unfortunately, LA Fitness memberships doesn't cross borders. As soon as I scanned my barcode, the alarms went off telling David the manager who was there that morning to inform me that my membership was not good at his club. Interestingly, even though my membership was not valid at his club, David was able to look at my membership profile and see that I am a longtime LA Fitness member and was able to allow me to workout at his club. This Markham club was comparable to the Diamond Bar, California club that I normally workout at. LA Fitness considers this club a Premier Plus Club...whatever that means. My regular premiere club and this club were basically the same, except mine in California provides towels for me. It was less fancy than their Signature Club in Irvine, CA, where their headquarters are at. They had treadmills and ellipticals that were equipped with a TV screen for you to watch. They had free weights and machines. Most of the equipment worked, not like at some of the other clubs I've been to. The club seemed clean. Paper towels and sanitizer were available. No towel service at this club. The parking lot was adequate. I was able to find a spot. It's a good LA Fitness gym. I still don't know what a premier plus club is. It sounds good, but, it is no different from a regular premier club in the USA. Thank you David for letting me get my work out in.

Getting to this location was very easy which appealed to me. During the rush hour traffic can get…read morepretty hectic around these areas. Having this gym on West Beaver Creek allowed me an easy way to get there through traffic and a great escape from it on the way home. The facility was well taken care of when I entered. It didn't have the usual sweaty stench of most gyms. I enjoyed that the gym was more family based rather than the large chain. I find that a smaller more encouraging environment helps me a lot more than being ogled at the larger chain gyms. The vibe was very comfortable for me and my coach had been very knowledgeable of not only the exercises we were prescribed but our individual needs. I enjoyed his ability to deal with me as an individual while maintaining the group aspect of the classes. Since I've started training here, not only has my mother and cousin joined but my aunt as well. I left the country for some odd months to come back and find them in better shape than they have ever been. The best part is that they all seemed to have fun on the way there. The coach and the staff here always set up great family based events on holidays as well that give us both a great workout and a little competition. It's been a great experience growing with my new friends at the gym and bonding with my family as well.

What I like about the Women's only GoodLife at High Tech Road is that it's clean, has mostly everything I need (minus a dedicated chest press rack) and there's never a wait to use the equipment. Although the machines are old, they do the job. Staff friendless can also be a hit or a miss. The gym was a bit tricky to find as Google maps pinned it to the north side of the building, however, it's located upstairs the Loblaws right near the entrance. I'm hoping they'll look into extending their weekend hours as for now, they close at 3 pm on sat and sun.

Mitra & Awat - they were genuinely kind, welcoming, and so helpful from the moment I walked in. Their energy was amazing. Super engaging, positive, and clearly coming from a place of really caring about the environment they're creating. If I lived in the area, I would absolutely make this my home gym. It felt supportive, motivating, and like a place people actually enjoy being in. Huge thanks to them for making the experience so great.

I am not a fan of this goodlife. First of all- basement gym…read more It's a no from me. There is no reception whatsoever so people hang around on the staircase or upstairs trying to grasp that tiny bit of LTE that they can. Body vision across the street is a basement gym as well but they have full reception as well as provide full free wifi - something goodlife should look into, especially when they charge so much more. Equipment here is plentiful but not sure if you'd want to use a lot of it, as nobody wipes their sweat down and half of the stuff feels grimy and unclean. The squat racks are almost always empty or barely a wait, which I approve of. There are lots of equipment for you to get your whole workout in, and lots of benches that remain untouched as well. Lots of things here are always free - squat racks, smith machines, benches, cardio machines ..it's as if everyone gathers around the dumbbell jungle or something. There's always some sort of a ..unclean smell here. Staff are nice for the most part and even more nice if they know you, from the way they treat their regulars with kind conversation to the quick hello, goodbye I get from them. Eh, hours aren't even great either. Don't really see a reason why I'd willingly come here, unless I had no choice.
