15 years ago, Goias Home Improvement did a great job of remodeling and restructuring our bathroom and kitchen, so when we needed help now repairing termite damage to our bathroom floor and other maintenance tasks, we once again called Gil. Gil's team replaced and re-tiled the bathroom floor, removed the tub and put in a wonderful new shower with a marble bench and grab bar. We were happy to be able to keep the existing cabinetry and wall tile. Outside, Gil's teams put on a new roof, removed and reinstalled a skylight window to address leakage, and repaired two places where the roof was leaking. Gil's carpenter replaced the decking on our rear deck and our side porch. All new steps were built. The front porch decking was painted and new steps were built. The entire house was power washed and the gutters were cleaned. Leakage damage in the kitchen was repaired and the kitchen was painted. Every task was completed quickly and expertly. They did flooring and paint in my home a little over two years ago! I paid top dollar and got a lousy job!! Floor was totally unenforceable from one room to the next done by clearly unskilled laborers. Had to rip it out and do it all over again with a different less expensive experienced contractor who did an impeccable job! The total house paint job was a total disaster - simply disgraceful!! I had an exceptional experience working with Gil and his team at Goias Home Improvement. Gil, the owner, is the most professional, thoughtful and respectful contractor I have ever worked with. I initially called for my master bathroom renovation and also will be using Goias for several other projects including roof, gutters, and patio and deck. The work was a complete gut renovation of the bathroom, moving toilet and shower plumbing, adding a double vanity, tiling, custom shower, heated floors etc. Gil and his team executed it flawlessly. His initial estimate was the lowest of the 3 I received. He was also the most responsive and attentive. There was a sense of trust that I felt from day one. They started on the project the following week. Throughout the project he listened to ever concern I had, addressed them and was always open to changes and requests I had. Every worker that entered our house was respectful of our privacy and of the home. Gil responded thoughtfully to every phone call and text I sent him ( I can be a bit of a needy client). Gil came to the house to check up on the work frequently and communicate. While many contractors are overbooked and take on way more than they can handle it was clear that Gil managed the amount of work he could take on very well. When there was a small leak during the project Gil was here within minutes to evaluate and had someone fix it within an hour. The leak caused some water stains on the drop ceiling in the basement which was quickly replaced. There was a delay in the shower door, and Gil apologized and explained calmly what the issue was. One of the doors broke during the quality testing of the door. Gil also gave us a cheesecake made by his wife as a token of appreciation. It was delicious to say the least! Goias Home Improvement will be the only company I work with for future home renovation projects. They did high quality work, provided a great customer experience and communicated effectively. I almost feel guilty telling other people how pleasant my home improvement project was compared to the horror stories I have heard about other bathroom renovations. Gil and his crew at Goias are amazing to work with. Each crew is so hard working and perform quality work, paying attention to detail. Gil is so honest and fair with his suggestions and pricing. He does not try to add things on to bump up the price and he even made suggestions and offered insight on some modifications he would suggest to be better for us. We used Goias last year for tile and concrete removal and a new floor install in the kitchen, living and dining rooms and the workmanship was so incredible, that they were the first call we made this year when we had a few new projects that needed to be done. Jose and his crew started with the painting. They spackled, sanded, primed and painted stairways, hallways, all bedroom doors, the kitchen, living and dining rooms & one bathroom including the ceilings and trim. They did an exceptional job and everything looks perfect. It is the best the walls have ever looked! Next came Thiago. He removed the old railings and installed new beautiful handrails and railing on the front porch. He took his time, meticulously installing everything perfectly. What a face-lift this was for the porch and it looks like a different porch! Incredible! Then Jose came with his landscaping crew. They removed concrete, retaining walls and a couple of tons of stone along with old flower beds and tree/bush stumps. They installed two new retaining walls, new flower beds, a new mailbox post and pavers all along the front of the house and walkway. When they were seeding the lawn they even went above and beyond filling in other areas of my lawn and seeding those areas as well even though they weren't at the spot the work was done. I let Jose pick the plants and he did an incredible job selecting beautiful, low maintenance ones at my request. Every single crew cleaned up when they left each day and left my home in immaculate condition. They were also very careful with opening the doors and the gates making certain to keep my dogs safely in the house or yard. I have referred Goias to everyone that needs a solid contractor as I know they produce quality work, are fair in pricing and are very responsive. Gil and his team did a great job. Our bathroom looks and functions very well. They showed up when they said they would (which most construction workers failed to do), found a way to hit our budget, and our bathroom looks super nice. and when they made a mistake on our floor they quickly fixed it for free and paid for the new materials with out any fuss. Gill's wife made us a cheesecake as an apology. I said no need to apologize everybody makes mistakes you guys fixed it the next day no harm no foul. But the cheesecake was amazing and most appreciated. Definitely hire these people. For part of the renovation I wasn't living at the home and Gil would send me pictures of the progress and let me know everyday what was going on. We had Gil do our siding, decking, and retaining walls. And everything came out looking great, I had a problem where they put some new plywood, two nails went thru a drainage pipe, causing a leak over time. where walls and ceilings and siding and decking had to removed so the pipe could be cut out and replaced. I called Gil and told him of the problem and told him what the plumber had cost and his response was not my problem! I spent over 90k with the man and he didn't stand behind his work! wouldn't come to look at it won't pick up the phone answer text messages nothing! All I wanted was for him to do was pay the plumbers bill $900 after all that I spent and I also referred him to friends and this how he treats customers? This horrible business customer service. My wife and I are very disappointed in Gil he comes across as this nice person but at the end of the day he is just another snake oil salesman!
