This guy cannot think strategically at all and his brain works on randoms details. He did not know the judge we were assigned to and could not communicate to him in a manner that Judge could understand. His understanding of Business matters is poor and he could not communicate the issues involved in valuing a business or anything complex regarding assets. He was unorganized and refused to make outlines for court presentations and just shot from the hip each day - What a mess!! This company is only good for consultations which were $500 each. I did two consultations with Sven until I finally retained them. After they were retained. I was stuck with Hannah a new associate attorney that I believe had just graduated. I asked Sven about this and he said that I didn't want to run up my retainer fee for him to do paperwork instead of Hannah. Newsflash... I did all the paperwork. Hannah and the legal clerk would just snd over forms for me to complete. They did nothing on my case while opposing counsel ran circles around them. I spent 30k for nothing. No court hearings no proceedings. No step closer. Everything they filed could have been done by me. They sent me forms. I completed the forms and they efiled them online. I could have done this, and I did after I fired them from my case. The last straw was when there was a due date for settlement forms. I was checking dates and saw that there was A document to file by a certain timeframe I emailed Hannah the attorney working on my case and I couldn't get in touch with her. I finally got in touch with the legal clerk who told me that Hannah was out. I guess she was getting married, which is fine but who's handling my case and why haven't no one reached out to me about this document that is due in two days. The legal clerk emailed me the day before the forms were due to get me to fill out the packet. I later had a conversation with Sven and Hannah about this. They pretty much gaslit me bc I called out their unprofessional behavior. Kelly McMillan actively encouraged and requested additional time to discuss my custody case. She said, "I would really like an opportunity to speak with you further regarding your custody case," and she made it feel like we were working together. Her tone and framing made it seem generous and professional, almost as if this follow-up would be complimentary. I agreed, assuming this meeting would be handled properly. However, fees for that meeting were never disclosed upfront, and I was only informed of a potential fee late the evening before the scheduled morning appointment, around 8 PM, without specifying an amount. This left me with no way to plan or prepare financially, and it is unreasonable to expect a client to guess or assume costs. Scheduling a meeting this way -- after actively encouraging it -- is not standard professional practice, and no client should be expected to interpret generosity as a hidden fee. In my experience speaking with many attorneys over the past several years, any attorney who charges for additional consultations clearly communicates that upfront before scheduling. Some offer additional time for free -- not guaranteed, but I have taken advantage of those opportunities in the past.
