Open to the public on Saturday from 9am to 2pm. They have a gorgeous display of their mini cakes when you walk in but I came primarily for some croissants and some macarons. I got the chocolate, chocolate almond, raspberry cream and blueberry cream croissants to try. Although they look smaller than other croissants you'll find in other coffee shops and bakeries... these ones pack quite the punch taste-wise in their more petite form. The chocolate croissant was delightfully airy. The chocolate almond one was very rich and decadent. The fruit cream ones were so flavorful and rich. I think the favorite between my husband and I was the chocolate almond one. Also picked up six macarons and will be trying those later (too full off of the croissants right now to eat anything else!). ;) read more

I've seen the signs for this pop-up bakery for weeks and finally had time to stop in and am glad I did! Super friendly and everything tasted amazing. I came at 1pm (close to closing), and they still had a little bit of stock, but I'll try coming earlier next time. Prices are reasonable, and they are creative with their flavors! I asked to be walked through the flavors and how ordering works and they happily did so. I was told that if I were to leave with one thing that day, I should try the almond croissant - and they were right. It was so good. It's hard to explain...the texture isn't as flaky as croissants I've had in the past. It's better. The flavors were amazing. I could have been happy with just that. But of course, since I was there, I tried other things as well! The chocolate mini cake was divine. It cut smoothly and was velvety smooth. Loved the crunch elements in there as well. Highly recommend! For my half-dozen macarons, I tried the red velvet, coffee, passion fruit, dark chocolate, butter pecan, and...one other that I can't remember right now. All of them were delicious. My favorite of the bunch was probably the butter pecan, or maybe the dark chocolate. I can't wait to go back! A rare place that actually makes GOOD macarons! Superb, really. Rocq sells online and at Whole Foods but on Saturdays they open their bakery, which resides in an industrial area of Foothill Ranch, as a "pop up" store. You can check their Facebook page for exact hours but they are usually limited to morning and early afternoon. They sell croissants, little cakes, and macarons. I purchased a pack of 12 as a gift and a pack of 6 for myself. When you go into the "pop up" you can choose your flavors unlike online ordering which has pre-packaged flavors. Each macaron had a lightly crisp cookie and each and every filling had a vibrant flavor. A person has no problem determining the taste! I had a blood orange, chocolate caramel, coffee, vanilla bean, coconut, and a seasonal flavor - eggnog. The eggnog was distinctly eggnoggy - any eggnog lover will enjoy it. My other favorites were the coconut and the coffee; the latter was the best coffee macaron I've ever had. But all were fantastic - not a one disappointed. The folks working here were exceptionally friendly and enthusiastically answered my numerous questions (and even surprised me with a delicious passion fruit macaron to sample - a definite yummy score!). It's not quite what I imagined as a "pop up French bakery" but if you want macarons and petite cakes, this is definitely your place. The store front is only open to the public on Saturday's from 9 am to 2 pm. I came in around 12 pm and saw a few customers as I arrived. As you walk in there's a small display case of petite cakes. They had everything from a chocolate flourless cake, creme brulee, and other colorful cakes. I haven't tried any but all looks good. In terms of macarons they had a good selection of flavors. You can pick any flavor and make your own box. Smallest is a 6 count assortment. I picked out all the colorful looking ones for my daughter but she definitely noticed the birthday cake one first. They only had 3 choices for their bread selection: plain roll, grain or sesame roll(??) and almond croissant. Not sure if I was late and everything else was sold out? I picked up one almond croissant though. The croissant was small but dense. Not flakey inside but rather cake like/macaron like. It tasted good though! Would definitely get again. read more

So glad we decided to try this "secret" pop-up bakery in Foothill Ranch on Saturday morning! The quality and flavor of all the pastries we got here were really on another level, both quality and flavor-wise. This is the actual factory location, which was a wholesale dessert, cake, and macaron supplier to many fine restaurants. Due to COVID-19 we now get to buy direct! We had a chocolate and raspberry mousse cake which was one of the best things I've ever tasted. It had spun sugar rolls on top and the filling was this incredible chocolate mousse. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures of it and there it was nothing left within just a few minutes. We also got a large pack of macarons which everyone at the party agreed were the best they've ever had. The "cookie" part was like a thin shell instead of hard and crunchy. We also got a few amazing mini cakes which were also freaking amazing! We will definitely be back next week to stock up. Five stars! read more

This is well worth the drive from North OC the mini cakes are incredible and I get raves whenever I serve them or bring them. I was looking for macarons for a party. I found Rocq online and placed an order through their online portal about 2 hours before I wanted to pick them up. I had never been to Rocq before so I didn't realize the pickup location wasn't a storefront. It's located in a business park in Foothill Ranch. The door was locked and although I tried the intercom, no one inside answered. I was lucky one of the employees was returning to the building. He was very friendly. I explained that I had placed an online order for pickup. He was able to help me out. He went in and a few minutes later, came out with my order. Everything was perfect and came in a lovely box. If the place were actually open like a store, I'd highly recommend them for your macaron orders. But I feel like it's kind of hit or miss whether you'll be able to get assistance from someone once you're there to pick up the order. Rocq macarons is currently open only on Saturdays from 8am to 2pm. This is the location where they bake all their goods, and have a small display case in the front of the factory. They had about 3 large cakes (chocolate, opera, and a tiramisu) priced at $26 each on the day that I visited. The designs of the cake were beautiful and had extremely delicate decorations. They also had petite dessert cakes and creme brulee priced at $4 each. Finally they had macarons priced at $20 for 12. I opted for the pistachio, strawberry chocolate, mango chocolate, and creme brulee desserts. The pistachio, strawberry, and mango desserts were basically the same. They all were moist chocolate cakes with a cream topping. The pistachio and strawberry ones had a subtle flavor of pistachio and strawberry. The mango chocolate cake didn't really have a mango flavor to it. I really enjoyed the custard of the creme brulee, and the crunch of the blow-torched sugar crystals on top was great. I talked with the chef's wife about the offerings that they have. She mentioned that items change on a weekly basis, but creme brulee is always there. And when one purchases the creme brulee dessert, the ramekin is included in the pricing. All the ingredients used are all natural, including the food coloring. The end product looks amazing and tastes great. The chef's wife mentioned Whole Foods was one of their distributors, however the cakes on display are not available there as the decoration is too detailed and makes it difficult for the product to be delivered. Overall I was impressed and would be back to try more of their desserts. This place only takes cash, so be sure to bring plenty of it, as there is no ATM on site. read more

These are by far the worst macarons that I've ever had! They taste disgustingly old, and stale!! The owners really should be ashamed of themselves for even selling this crap! I order a box of 2 dozen online to give as a gift, and was so embarrassed when I was offered one. I was wondering why their packaging stated it can be stored in the freezer for 3 months! Well, that's what they've done--stored it for who knows how many months, then sell them for over $2 a piece!! What a joke, and an absolute waste of money! I was a little worried that they would be out of most of their goodies since it was close to closing time, but that fear was unfounded. Inside a small storefront in the business park area of Lake Forest is the pop up. I ordered 2 chocolate truffles, an almond croissant and chocolate almond croissant, and creme puff type cake (similar to a profiterole) and 6 macarons. Of the 29 flavors, I chose passion fruit, rose, pistachio, cookie dough, lemon and salted caramel. I did get a free olive dinner roll, which I just had and OMG-so good! I've been a huge fan of ROCQ macarons for yeeaars. I've only ever gotten them from Whole Foods though. I've been let down so many times by OTHER bakeries making sub par macarons where they may look pretty, but the cookies are dry/hard and crumbly (rather than being airy and slightly chewy) and you get filling that tastes the same no matter what "flavor" you choose plus they skimp on it (which is not the case with Rocq) . Thank goodness for these authentic, high quality, and delish Macarons from Rocq. The only other places I've had macarons this good was in Versailles, France and at Bottega Louie in LA. Even more exciting, I just learned their storefront is super close by and I can even get them delivered. Awesome because they only offer a handful of flavors through Whole Foods. I was never a big fan of Macarons but ROCQ turned me into one as of yesterday. I visited the store for and with my son who loves Macarons. Pop up store itself isn't much but mini cakes and macarons were so pretty and eye pleasing. Macarons come in 30 some flavors. I picked up recommended flavors, Passion fruit, Butter Pecan, and chocolate caramel, and added mango, blueberry and coconut. I also bought almond croissants and a rum and raisin croissant along with herbs de Provence dinner rolls that were baked freshly in the morning. 5 stars for Macarons and Herbs de Provence dinner rolls! All Macarons I've tried so far are excellent - perfect smooth crust, slightly chewy beneath the crust with smooth and light filling. Passion fruit is tart and sweet hitting multiple taste buds and sensations. Butter pecan is my favorite with nutty, buttery and sweet - I was told it is also chef's favorite. Chocolate caramel has just hint of caramel and doesn't over power chocolate. All of them with just right amount of sweetness to complement the flavors. Croissants were dense and sweet. I prefer flaky. However, herbs de Provence dinner rolls are delicious! Good crust outside and soft inside. Olives add savory and cheesy flavor enhancing umami to the rolls. I will be back for more Macarons and trying out their cakes. And I will look forward to special dinner rolls! read more
