Great source of Asian snacks, drinks, instant coffee and other goods. They sell dragon fruit, fresh meat and seafood as well.

Parking is insane at this supermarket, since its a market and other stores that share the parking lot. There is a kine to get in, at the door they take your temperature and provide you with a set of gloves and mask is a must! This is always good to see a business ser the standards. We went in looking for lobsters and we found at $5.99 a pound Sat and Sun only!! The vegetables and seafood section look fresh and well supplied. The wife and I work as a team. I get in line since the line is long. I usually do so when she is 75% of the way done, today she was done just as i was being called to step up to the register. You can pay cash, credit or debit. Overall a well running machine as they expedited your way to the register.

Gold City Supermarket is the definition of fast paced, heavily populated, Chinese supermarket. Everyone here comes to do their weekly grocery shopping stuffing their carts full of meat, veggies, and seafood. There is a path to shop here. Over the years I've learned how to get in and get out like the rest of these shoppers. You get your temperature taken then get handed a pair of plastic gloves. First you enter the seafood and fruit aisles, then turn left for the meat butchers, one out to get veggies, head back for the semi frozen section like tofu and eggs, then go down the aisles for dry food/noodles/sauces, then get on the long checkout line and grabbing any remaining veggies you forgot to get the first time. The grocery is fresh here since I'm pretty sure hundreds or maybe a thousand people come and go, so the workers are constantly putting out new veggies and fruit. This is one of the few supermarkets in Flushing where there is free parking so you have people from Long Island and Brooklyn making the trip here for their weekly groceries.

Well well well, finally we find an Asian supermarket where it offers "true" Chinese grocery. Yes, there are a few Asian market near where we live in South Florida, but they don't have a lot of selection to choose from. In fact, we sometimes can't find things we are looking for. So naturally I can't help to take pictures on items where people here consider them everyday groceries but we consider them pots of gold. Just to name a few: Chinese vegetables. Some vegetables you can't get in S FL, the kinds only Chinese people eat. Also the meat and seafood section. They have all kinds of meat, pork, beef and chicken. Some cuts you can't get anywhere else. For example, pig ears and beef tails. Sea food sections offers a lot of fish, crabs and shrimps. And the prices are reasonable. With all kinds of different Asian supermarkets in the neighborhood, prices have to be very competitive or they will lose their customers. We bought a tons of stuff and the total still came under $100 which feed our family 8 for 2 meals.

The watermelon of 2.99 is rotten. I also recognize the bad things I bought for the promotion. 11.99 canned oysters expire on June 5th. I can still buy them on June 7th. They never check the food?

Apparently full penetration is available at this place

this is the place to go when you want pretty much a anything! I came here only for Sriracha and Pocky, but walked the store and perused their wares. What a great store! All different types of Asian foods, herbs, spices and sundries. They have a large fish counter and a massive produce section. If you happen to need dried sea cucumbers, they are available for the low price of $119/lb!

I don't know how your staff counts this, is there a pound? Please do not deceive consumers.

Gold City has been in the area for years already. I remember when this place used to be a Rite-Aid, which was like eons ago. I can't imagine how vastly different the Chinese community here would be if GC wasn't around and if it were still Rite-Aid. GC is a decent sized Asian supermarket stocked with lots common Asian products, poultry, and grocery. Produce is sometimes hit or miss. Prices here are higher compared to that of other supermarkets in Downtown Flushing. When it comes to checking out, cashiers can have attitude problems. A lot of people from the neighborhood shop here because of convenience: free parking and other small businesses in the area.

This is your typical Asian supermarket with the smell of the ocean wafting through the air. You can even see some of the sea creatures still moving (not just the fish swimming in the tanks). A sign of freshness for sure. I usually find the produce here pretty fresh as well compared to another Asian supermarket in Flushing I used to go to. You can usually find everything you need here in one go and the prices are reasonable so it's very convenient. Everyone's comment about the parking lot is true though. There's a line just trying to turn in and you can easily clog up Kissena Ave trying to do so. Congratulations if you made it through that parking lot unscathed. It means you're a skilled tactical driver!

The store is nice. But most of the time, there is absurdly no eye contact from the cashier.

I pointed it out, and she had to call a manager to correct it. I then asked whether my $10 coupon had gone through on top of my other discounts. The cashier couldn't verify it, and when the manager came over and was aggressive from the start, she couldn't or wouldn't give me a clear answer either. I asked if she could simply check whether the coupon had been applied, but she kept saying, "What do you want me to do? I can't do anything," and repeatedly referred to it as only $10. She also said she "can't risk her family for $10." I found those comments completely uncalled for. This wasn't about the amount of money. It was about making sure my transaction was correct. I wasn't asking the manager to do anything unreasonable, and I certainly wasn't asking her to "risk her family." While this was happening, another customer became angry and started cursing at me in front of my family and young children. Neither the cashier nor the manager made any attempt to de-escalate the situation. The manager ultimately walked away and told me to contact customer service. Happened 8/30 6PM I'm not looking for reimbursement or anything over the $10. I'm asking that Lidl review how this cashier and manager handled the situation and whether additional training in customer service, transaction accuracy, and de-escalation is needed. This was the worst customer experience I've had in a long time. Mistakes happen, but customers should be able to ask reasonable questions about their transactions without being made to feel like they're causing a problem.

(this is the only way I am able to describe her) On 11/15/2025 2:30- 3:00pm I simply asked to confirm my 10% discount in loyalty rewards for the promotion that began on 11/14 was applied to my final purchase. I was packing my items and could not monitor the transactions to verify. I confirmed that I had spent the required amount to qualify for the 10% discount and had clipped the rewards coupon digitally on line. The cashier called over one woman to verify this. She didn't seem to know so she then called the Asian woman. The Asian woman was abrasive and said I would only qualify if I spent the required amount during the promotion period. I verified I had. Then she insisted there was no way I could have clipped the coupon on line as she and/or management are the ones that have that authority to do so. I explained I was taught how to do this on line by one of their current employees and was unaware the practice had shifted. She took my rewards card and then came back quite some time later and rudely said " you got it already, look at your receipt!" I explained I had no receipt in my possession and hadn't even paid for my items. She kept demanding I look at my receipt. After feeling harrassed, embarrased and frustrated, I went to another woman who worked there - soft spoken with long curly hair (sadly I don't remember her name) who was kind enough to assist me. There have been reviews about this Asian woman's lack of professionalism and knowledge yet store management has chosen not to address this and instead will compromise customer service and experience. It's unfortunate as I truly believe so many employees here are caring and value customers and human beings in general but no consumer should have to be subjected to this conduct and behavior when buying weekly groceries. I am committed to supporting local businesses that value my patronage and this is not a place that does. Hopefully management cares enough to read this and make a difference.

This store used to be a Waldbaums back in the day and had been taken over by the Korean supermarket chain. It's not as big as other HMarts in the suburbs, but definitely larger than others in Flushing, so can offer a larger variety of goods. The parking lot is also not as big and is full almost all of the time, but you can also park at the parking lot of the Webster Bank next door after hours or on the street. Grab a cart and start shopping! As you enter through the automatic sliding doors, sale items like toilet paper, snacks and rice are stacked high in the vestibule. The inner door opens into the produce section with stacks of Korean pears, fresh cut fruit platters and other exotic vegetables & fruits you would not find at your local Key Food or Stop-N-Shop. The Seafood section is also unique in that they stock live exotic species like abalone, sole, Asian hairy crabs & spiny lobsters. They also have sushi grade tuna, salmon, yellowtail & other sushi favorites. The prepared foods section is where I fill up most of my cart. Marinated chicken (boneless thighs, drumsticks & tenders), ribeye bulgogi, LA kalbi, spicy pork jowl & belly are available to take home straight to your stove or grill. The banchan section is extensive and takes up an entire wall of refrigerated cases as well as some in the aisles. If you don't even want to cook, get some hot prepared meals or something from the food court counter. Remember that the pre-packaged hot foods are 50% off after 5pm. For dessert, there is a Paris Baguette counter also. Order a custom made cake or pick up some pastries to go.
