Recently moved near the area and can confidently say that this is one of the best grocery stores. Items, especially the produce and meats, are super fresh -- and the bread! Decent options and they give us the most recently sliced bread they have. It sometimes gets more busy during the day than I expect, but I've determined it's usually retired/older individuals or people WFH. Only reason I gave four stars: it's a bit pricy for certain items (e.g. small spinach bundles for $5 each). I could get 2-3x bigger organic bundles at Whole Foods for half the price. read more

North Shore Farms is the perfect supermarket. Especially their meat department which is oftentimes well-stocked with prime rated meats. They have an exceptional sprawling seafood section offering a wide range of wild-caught domestic and imported seafood. Did I mention their curated but plentiful selection of cheeses? Entering the store makes me feel as though I'm in a farmer's market. A wide variety of greens, fruits and veggies engulfs shoppers. About a third of their produce department is dedicated to organics. I typically visit the Beachurst/Whitestone store when I'm in town. Plenty of parking in the plaza along with several other stores that I patronize. May I suggest that this supermarket is worth the trip, even if you're coming from further away. read more

The produce, fruits and veggies at this supermarket is always top quality and very clean. The price can be on the high side but you can always get a good deal buying the circular sales item. Plus they always have plenty of stocks of the sales item unlike other stores that advertise sales but shelves are always empty. Why I took off 2 stars is there is ZERO place to lock up your bike in the ENTIRE shopping center. It's quite unbelievable but I circled the entire lot and could not find a single spot. It would be awesome if the shopping center can invest in a measly bike rack so that some of us that prefer to bike the 4 miles instead of drive can have a spot to safely lockup our bike. read more

Fresh food. Top quality meats. Good sales. It's a little further for me to travel to buy my groceries but it's worth it. They have an extensive deli and bakery and seafood section and they have a prime meat butcher too. You can find foods from many countries especially cheeses. It's really a first class grocery and specialty store. read more

This location is right by my mom's so I'm here often. There aren't too many grocery stores out there anymore like this one! They have absolutely everything possible from any culture! You could get lost here! My favorite things to get are the bread, the hot food & all different types of cheeses. Everything is always fresh and it's convenient for nights when I don't want to cook! Stopped by after work last night (Friday) and was pleasantly suprised it wasn't absolutely packed in there! Went primarily to check out their cheese selection but was absolutely blown away by their selections of good. As soon as you walk in walk all the way to the back and there is 1.5 displays of just cheeses. I really appreciate that they have small chunks of cheese so its so easy to walk around the display and bam - they are already cheeseboard friendly sized pieces. If you want a small serving of options they also had these box off misc cheese cubes availble for a super affordable price. Intermixed with the cheese selection was some quince, apricot & fig cake, pate, foie gras, and marcona almonds! After the cheese you can turn around and grab a fresh baguette or other bread - i got the baguette (ok but not really a baguette? not really crusty with the chew i would associate from a baguette), and some garlic bread. The next display after that was the charcuterie & olives + pickled veggies. I think I spent over half an hour on just these 3 sections and then had to pry myself away from them after my basket was too heavy & I picked out over $50 worth of good. Easily a very dangerous place to be if youre wandering aimlessly through their completely packed aisles, but be prepared with a list and I think/hope you should be good! I came home for the weekend to visit the rents. My pops and I share the love for food so he thought I would be interested to go with him to his new favorite store. This was very weird for me because I haven't been home in over 2 years and so much changed each time I visit. It was awkward because this store, combined with CVS next door, used to be Waldbaums. My first job was there and now it's gone. It was difficult but we enter the store. People were just leaving their cart in the entrance to look at whatever was in the vestibule. The produce aisles were so extensive! Everything looked fresh and ripe. I did not spend much time there because people did not know how to maneuver around. Next, we hit the deli section. Specifically the massive cheese section! This was my favorite part of the store because I love cheese, the variety was insane, and there were plenty of different samples of cheese to try. Good marketing because I took the initiative and tried a Welsh cheddar that was amazing and grabbed a piece to purchase. My parents followed suit and did the same.We must have spent 15 minutes in this section alone! Then we went to the rest of the deli section. I circled around the prepared foods section, which included sandwiches, wraps, soups, dips, pasta dishes, salads, and much more. The prices seemed a little steep compared to if you prepared these yourself so I passed on grabbing anything. My father was talking highly about their precooked foods you can order in the deli section by the pound. It all looked so good! Macaroni salad, potato salad, chicken, eggplant, pasta, etc. We usually don't eat seafood at home but that was the next section. As you can see from my pictures, I was in awe. A baby shark on display?!?! I argued with my mom it was fake but it was not. I have lived in FL for 9 years and never saw that and I figured FL would be the place to see something like that. The fish surrounding the shark were huge as well. My dad then showed me the shrimp (see picture). They were bigger than my hand! So crazy! We then went through the meat section. The butcher offered to help us and said if we needed anything, his name was John. Very nice! All the meat looked fresh. We closed out our trip with the dairy and juice aisle. Now that I think about it, I purchased a Tropicana 50 there and only had one glass. I hope pops remembers to drink it because I couldn't bring it on the plane back to FL I really enjoyed shopping here and miss grocery shopping in NY. I hate grocery shopping in FL. It always seems like a s$&t show no matter where you go. And I cannot remember the last time I went grocery shopping with both my parents. It has to be at least 20 years lol. Great new market in the area. Most of the staff have been friendly and courteous. They have an excellent selection of cheeses, and now they even carry beers. A decent selection. We love their deli, bakery, fish and meat counters. Great looking stuff. Aged steaks too. It's just a really clean and neat looking place. I always feel better once I've walked down the fruit and veggie aisle. It's just so nicely laid out, almost like a piece of art. Very neat and colorful. Their prices can be a bit steep, though, depending on what you're looking for. But, like anywhere else, you have to know what you're shopping for. You come here for certain items, and you go elsewhere for other items. You can't just do all of your shopping here and expect the best stuff at the cheapest prices. Shop around for prices. But as far as the items I mentioned above, this place is great. read more

Cashiers not all but some are complaining morons, I bought flowers which weren't cheap I asked her to wrap it she said I'm charging you for bag I said why it's flowers she said we pay for bags duh?! All stores pay it's part of doing business, then she threw them in head first she said I'm a cashier, I told her bagging is part of being cashier, I complained to management who then properly wrapped it and apologized when I walked back past the cashier I said so that's how you do it. I purchased Atlantic Salmon yesterday, I decided to use it today. The salmon was so soft, smells bad, and was disintegratin. I called the store and the manager told me to return the item with a receipt. I had thrown away the receipt since I trusted that this place was not selling me rotted fish. I am terribly disappointed. At frst I was hesitant to go. Was very fond of walbaums, even worked there as a kid. I don't do my major shopping there but I find myself going at least twice a week. The best bakery for fresh bread. The veggies are always fresh. Great deli and cooked food. The staff is always helpful and the owners are Greek and around. The store is very clean and organized. Prices are high but reasonable. North Shore farms is the neighborhood go to grocery/supermarket. Their fish section is always fresh and very well priced. The fish mongers are extremely friendly and always helpful. The deli counter usually has a line which is a great sign which means constant turn around and the meat doesn't just sit. They do a lot of their baking on premise as well and strategically situated across from the cheese island (with free samples). The produce section is also huge and always fresh. They have a guy going up and down the aisles too checking for freshness which is a huge plus. What keeps this from being a perfect market is checkout. It's really not their fault since space is limited but when it gets packed, it could be a bit hellish. read more

Been coming here ever since they opened like 4-5 years ago, they definitely have a large selection of fresh produce, fish, meat, fresh breads, and etc. But one thing I have noticed, especially recently is their poor quality countrol, its either produce that is visually moldy or rotten, goods that are like 2-3 weeks past their sell by date, or you're playing russian roulette if the item you purchased just now was properly stored or not. I literally cannot tell you the amount of times I've bought something, with several months left before its best by date, to only find that its already spoiled from bad storage. read more

Not much supermarket competition in the area, gives north shore farms a leading edge over key food, because of more selection and a fresher produce department. Bread Dept is great, However the clerk there rushes you out before you can finish your selections. The deli department leaves a lot to be desired. Sloppy, unkept and harried novice deli clerks, hand you sloppily sliced and layered deli cheeses and meats. Could do better at general cleaning and janitorial duties too. read more

This morning we bought a french baguette. What they gave us is not close to the baguette. Do they think they can fool their customer. Somebody doesn't do their job in the bakery section. I just left North Shore Farms in Whitestone and had to write this review because I've had enough of this place. Some of the cashiers have a scheme they do to steal items from customers. They distract you and take something that you just paid for and put it under the counter. By the time you get home and start looking for the item and questioning yourself as if you left it somewhere you don't even bother to go back, which is what they are hoping for. This happened to me several times at this supermarket before I caught on to the fact that this is something they do. It just happened to me again! The cashier was being so sweet and offered to help me bag my items and wouldn't you know it I get home and my bag of M&M the extra large kind was missing. I decided to drive back and ask her about it and she tells me there is nothing here all I did was bag your items. I think it's really digusting. If it's happened to me over 10 times I can only imagine how many other people it's happened to. To the management you need to get on top of your staff because they are stealing from your customers. It's bad enough that your prices are way too high but now we have to be afraid of the things we just paid for to be stolen. To any customers thinking of shopping there keep an eye on the cashiers and make sure you bag your own bags and don't let them distract you. They are no longer getting my business I had it with this place. read more

I just discovered this well-stocked neighborhood market and I'm impressed. It's slightly less expensive than Fairways and Whole Foods but definitely more expensive than ShopRite. Their produce department is extensive. Everything was fresh and inviting. They had huge cowboy steaks on sale for $9.99/lb and ribeye steaks for $6.99/lb. They seafood department gets an "A" too for variety and quality. The Bakery gets C- . I purchased some cinnamon buns that were tough and overcooked. Grateful for having this market walking distance from home but everything is way overpriced! I'm a private chef which means I'm in supermarkets/farmers markets buying ingredients 4-5 times a week. I usually do my grocery shopping at Whole Foods, health food stores and farmers markets but for emergency cases i tent to stop by at north shore farms. I always leave disappointed due to how over priced everything is and should I mention that I do the majority of my food shopping in Manhattan but north shore farms still seems to be more expensive than Manhattan prices. I will say that they do carry a decent selection of organic vegetables but again still more over priced than Manhattan prices. they still need to work on their selection of organic fruit. Also they need to increase their selection of vegan options.. it's 2019 time to get with the program it's time to live a healthy lifestyle. read more

I enjoy shopping at North Shore Farms but less so than I used to. Lately, the prices of certain items have gone up dramatically and the store is becoming more like the local "Keys Food" or "Gristedes" that are traps for locals without transportation and or means to get to alternatives places to shop. Very disappointing. Today, I saw that they opened a Coffee Shop on the premises. Great! The scones looked wonderful and I thought I would buy one. $5.75 for a small scone! Are you kidding me? Let's get serious here folks. That's twice what you would pay at Martha's Bakery or Lulu's Bakery for amazing scones. Please do not encourage this gouging. It should be above North Shore Farms. Lastly, when did it occur to employees working at the store to call me "Boss"??? Did they just get out of prison? Do they think I am a Warden? Let's drop this nonsense right now. Quality supermarket located deep in whitestone . Great selection of fruits including organic sections . Fish section look very fresh but they close earlier than the supermarket . This grocery is fairly new in this neighborhood. can you give me a HALLE-EFFIN-LUJAH!!!!! Quickly has become my favorite local grocery store. There is a huge selection of products (I love perusing though the cheeses and pastas) but every week, they have good produce sales. I hope it stays well-kept and stocked! I would avoid the afternoons. The store does get jammed up with shoppers and their carts, especially with the tight aisles. read more

What in the world has happened to North Shore Farms? The quality of their food and the attitude of some of their employees is quite telling. After a number of negative encounters, I had to finally write an honest review about my multiple experiences at this location. Originally, when they first opened, I was entirely pleased with their operation. Everyone was helpful and happy to wait on you and service your needs. The fruits and vegetables looked good and were fresh. The deli department had some excellent prepared foods and salads; a fair assortment of international food items; a decent variety of cheeses and a respectable bakery department made it an inviting experience for me.  Not so much as of late, and it doesn't seem like it's getting any better. As a matter of fact it's worst than ever; chronic if you ask me since it's constantly recurring.   Yesterday was the last straw for me and their deli department. The quality of their prepared foods and their freshness is appallingly awful! You'd be lucky if their salads and cooked meats lasted a day in your refrigerator.  What in the world is going on at this place? Since they have opened, I have returned a number of (spoiled) items from their deli department for a refund. I can't understand how anyone can give this establishment a five star rating and review. Are they shills or just not accustom to quality food? I don't know, but I must say, there are much better choices for you and yours. And, what about that tall older dude behind the deli counter? This guy should NOT be servicing (or communicating for that matter with) the customers. He must be close friends or related to the owners in someway because he's dreadful to deal with. Even if he's not taking your order, he has to get in your face (about this or that) while the other deli worker is handling your order. It seems like he finds pleasure in making you uncomfortable. He's so atrocious and extremely unpleasant that I feel a strong desire and longing that when my number is called that anyone but him will serve me. Furthermore, this guy does everything he can to make sure he's padding the weight on the scale. He weighs your items with the lids on without the proper deducted tare weight. He would add the extra sauce or gravy before he weighs your items. The other deli works know the drill, they don't seem to put "their thumb on the scale" when they're weighing your deli products.  Think about it folks, working in the food service industry (or any customer service industry for that matter) is not just about punching in the clock, doing your eight hours and punching out, it's about making your customers feel welcome. That said, many of the their employees are nice and welcoming, especially the younger individuals. At this point it seems like the only acceptable departments at North Shore Farms are the cheese section and bakery. I'm not certain if it's worth going to this place for just their cheese and bread.  A normal shopping spree costs me no less than $70.00 and usually closer to $100.00 or more. I used to frequent this place at least once a week. This schedule has been reduced to rarely ever.  And, finally... Think about it, there are quite a few one and two star reviews and not once has anyone from North Shore Farms come here and reply or respond to our good and valuable issues and concerns. read more

I have been to the one in Commack, NY several times at the beginning I thought great store right around the corner. having company got desserts from there one was a Blueberry pound cake. Sliced it served it ate some my niece says she has green mold on hers sure enough piece with green mold disgusting. Still went back recent trip my niece asked me to get her grilled cutlets from Deli I get 2 pieces . She made a salad with one and her husband said it had a funny taste , I check the second piece smell bad threw it out. Recently purchased 2 packages of pork chops got ready to make them saw a beige spot on one smelled it it was bad opened second package same thing. Right in garbage ridiculous. Same day I bought bread the girl at the bread counter should have gone home if she was having a bad day I killed her with kindness, she was rude as fk never smiled nothing from her at all no matter what. I think I'm done with this store will just go back to Uncle Giuseppe's. read more
