I'm a new resident of Hollister and needed a quote for some work, so I looked up local services on Yelp and chose this one, based on the good reviews. Called to get a quote last week (1/13/21) and was told I would get a call back because they had to check the schedule. Understandable, so I waited didn't receive a call back and I called an additional 2 times that same day in the afternoon, no one answered. I've since got my work done and no longer need a call back. We have high ceilings so we had Gold Coast came out to replace 10 year batteries in the hardwired smoke detectors and ended up replacing two detectors they said were defective. Several months later one of the new detectors started beeping at random hours of the day and night. I called Gold Coast, spoke to Chandra, and was told I would get a call back the next day. No call back. Over the next two days I left three voice mails and tried to email the office but the mailbox was full. We called another company that promptly came out. They discovered the beeping detector had an install date of 2014 - Gold Coast had put the old, defective one back up. The following week I finally got a call back from Chandra. She had been out sick and, apparently, no one answers the phone or listens to voice messages when she is not there. Since the office mailbox was full she told me to email her personal account with the amount we had paid the other electrician and we would be promptly reimbursed. I did and added that we should also be reimbursed for the detector we had paid for but that was not installed. After 5 weeks I sent a follow up email asking about the status of the refund. It's now 10 days later and still no response. read more

Jose is very unreliable!!!!! I was referred to him through a spa salesman and yes,, he did show up for the estimate..... But that was it. He left my house saying he would call back with a quote and never did. I called several times with no answer. He finally called me 3 days later and said he would do the job the following day between 11 and 12. He never showed or called. I finally called him and he said he would be here the next day as he's waiting on the part...... And yet I have still never heard from him. The best contract job I've hired! Been doing some facelifts in my house and wanted recessed lighting installed as well as adding ceiling fans and getting my tv mounted and hooked up with surround sound. Called on Friday and Jose came out on Monday, gave me a quote and had his guys in on Wednesday to install. The guys were really professional and friendly and really cared to put everything exactly where and how I wanted it and made suggestion so that I could get the most out of my additions. They really took extra care to cover all my furniture and be careful when moving any of my things and put everything back exactly the way they found it. Had three electrical problems. Jesse diagnosed and fixed all three! I had both shrieking and beeping sounds. But it turned out one was from my whirlpool tub and the other from my house alarm! He also installed both a new smoke and carbon monoxide and smoke alarm. Both my smoke alarms were wired in and didn't have backup batteries so I do feel more secure now! Today they came out to check the smoke detector (my husband thought he pulled a wire out) and replace an outdoor outlet cover I had accidently snapped off. When I called, I left a message and someone got back to me first thing in the morning to let me know they could have someone out the same afternoon.
