I decided to hire his company because I felt he knew what I needed done, and his bid was very reasonable. They power washed the house and deck, fixed parts of deteriored siding, and even scrubbed the rust off of every single screw in the patio deck, and used a special coating to stop future rust before painting the deck with a final coat. Tony, Stan's brother, was the crew's foreman, and he was on top of it all, and touched up places he felt needed a little more attention, every day. Despite having a full quote after an in house review, numerous real time and email discussions about timing and start date, we've suddenly been ghosted with no explanation. Can't get calls returned. Never got reply to email acknowledging a schedule push back initiated by Gold Coast. Never got any reply yea or nay to several attempts on our part to propose a new start date. Gold Coast has simply disappeared. We can only hope nothing untoward has happened to the owner. Construction is disruptive by design so hiring a contractor is always stressful. The Papa's were the most expensive out of five bids. However, every other contractor that came out to bid would tell me what they couldn't do. Your stucco is in bad shape, the house is 53 years old, look at the water damage, the cracking.... Stan came out and told us what he could do and assured us that he could make it look really nice. He explained their process and how he retained the same crew, had worked with them a long time. It is so hard to find a respectful and honest business but WE FOUND A GEM!! I had such a great experience with Stan and his crew! We had some water damage from the roof in my son's room that was patched but looked terrible. They came in quickly and did a consult to make sure they had the best colors to match. The next day they were there getting everything sanded (or whatever they have to do first to make it look perfect) and repainted for me.
