We recently bought our first home and we're looking for a painter. We contacted several painters and got quotes and then we contacted Rob at Protective Advanced Coatings. He came and gave us a quote while he was there said he could also do flooring and any other construction projects that we wanted done. My husband asked him why he's not listed as a general contractor and he said that he has a lot of people in the industry that he could bring in as a subcontractor. It sounded fishy so I looked them up my hunches were right turns out this guy's not even licensed! Has me thinking that all these reviews must not even be the real deal. We made a report to the Better Business Bureau and also are in the process of reporting him to the California State License Board for fraud. read more

We recently had our office painted by Protective Advanced Coatings and they are awesome! I met the owner Robert through a friend who had a piece of furniture painted by him and it turned out great. We have a large space of more than 1500 ft.² with six treatment rooms, reception area, kitchen and restroom. I chose Protective Advanced Coatings (great name, by the way) because of the stellar reviews on Yelp. When I contacted Rob thru the Yelp app, he responded in a few minutes. and he and Krista were here within an hour or so to walk through my house to and provide a quote on painting the entire interior. Fortunately, they had an opening and started the following Monday. I saw right away that they were courteous, efficient, and highly skilled. Rob asked questions, answered mine, and kept me up to date on the next steps and possible issues. They worked long hours each day, but they were also flexible enough to accommodate my schedule. A couple of days into the job, Rob asked me if I was considering replacing the carpet (which I was), and when I agreed to terms, it was set up and started within just a few days, with Victor as subcontractor working for Rob. Victor did an outstanding job on the LVP. He coordinated the flooring with Rob & company's painting, and everything was finished at about the same time. I must also give a shout-out to Mike, who brought his own superior skills along with the painting. He fixed a leak in my roof I didn't even know I had! We hired Robert to paint our townhouse. He did a beautiful job. While talking to him I mentioned that we needed a lot of other work done as well. We thought we would have to hire other service people. He told me that he could do all of it! And he did and he did a terrific job.
