This is a cute small shop located in the historic Charleston City Market. I commented to my husband that it reminded me of the little Gold shops on the Ponte Vecchio in Italy. Some beautiful and high-quality gold and diamond jewelry can be found inside this tiny shop. A few friendly gals were working inside who happily answered questions and pulled items out. I purchased a silver rice bead necklace and was given a nice box and a card explaining the history of the beads and their significance to the rice trade in Charleston. A fun stop and they have some gorgeous gold and high-end items as well as more reasonably priced silver jewelry for gifts as well if you aren't looking to spend a ton of money. What a fantastic jewelry shop at the City Market. My Mom & Dad left Charleston, 2 days before we did, but my Dad let me know there was a ring Mom liked. So he told me the type and the price, but had no picture. I walked in and was greeted with a warm Charleston "hello" telling them what I was looking for, they said "I think I know exactly which one you are talking about." Sure enough the ring the choose was the one, I took a picture sent it to Dad and got official confirmation. The two jewelers where very patience and friendly with me as I texted and called my Dad a few times. Their service was great, I mentioned if they shipped and they did, so I paid the extra $4 dollars for that, only to learn they had to take it to the post office themselves later on, what great service. Finally, while waiting for confirmation from Dad, the two jewelers shared the 44 year history of the store, how it became a store in the market and not just a stand, gotta love an old broom closet turned into a delightful jewelry store. They talked about the owner and how they changed the workshop into the store front due to a hurricane it was great to learn the history of what this one site family owned jewelry store has been through and evolved. And then the ring got to FL in just 3 short days and surprise surprise Mom was shocked one to get it and two that she had such a lovely peace ring to add to her collection bought straight from the famous City Market of Charleston, SC. read more

This fine jewelry store located smack dab in the middle of the main Market in Charleston proper has a nice little selection of what I would call simple jewelry. Since spending a short weekend in Charleston and not with my girl, I wanted to bring her a little something back that wasn't too ostentatious yet sexy enough to warrant a nice hug and a kiss knowing I was thinking of her. Gold Creations was just the place. This tiny little store has a lot of chains and wrist bracelets that can run you anywhere from 50 bucks to hundreds and hundreds of dollars. The quality is good to great and the folks are very quick to answer questions, show merchandise from the locked cases and even haggle a bit if you buy a few items today and give you a discount.....I love a discount. I had pursued the day before, so the next day when I went in I knew exactly what I wanted and they got it, boxed it up and sent me on my way. All and all a great shopping experience. So if you are looking for some great and reasonably priced jewelry for that special someone and you are in the Market in Charleston, then go to Gold Creations first...you won't be disappointed. read more

My husband and I wandering into Gold Creations on our weekend trip to Charleston. They have a beautiful selection of jewelry in a variety of prices. Catherine was very friendly and helped up during our time in store. I fell in love with the Gates of Charleston collection and my husband bought me a beautiful pair of diamond cut earrings ($45). They even offered a 20% discount on these. Needless to say, we had a great shopping experience. Since I've returned home, I've received several compliments on these earrings. I decided the Gates of Charleston earrings would make great gifts for all the ladies in my family. I called the store today and again spoke to Catherine who graciously offered to send me pictures of what they had in stock and the different price ranges in that collection. I got to pick exactly the ones I wanted for gifts. What a stress free experience (discount included!) and I've now checked 4 people off my shopping list for Christmas in a matter of a few minutes!
