Gold Diggers is very close to Rye Patch Reservoir. Whether you're camping at the reservoir or passing through, this is a nice little spot to stop. Walking in, it was a very (temperature wise) cool bar. It was pleasant to walk into from the crazy heat! There is a (about) 10-seater sized bar with a large TV. The bar side itself is a bit dark to see in. The lady at the bar was quick to greet us. She was awesome and let us know there was a small dining room to sit in and she'd bring us menus shortly. This dining room was brighter. I got the feeling she was working by herself for a bit. She brought us menus and was quick to grab our drink order. We ordered two waters and two sprites; they do come in cans or bottles. She left us to figure out what we wanted. We got 'The Shack' pizza and the 'Canadian'. She was the one in the back of the kitchen making the pizzas as well. They came out pretty darn great! Both were more on the thin crust side with ample toppings. The crust was nice and crunchy! We enjoyed them both, immensely! The only thing I found 'wrong' with the overall experience was that while making the pizzas, the gal didn't wear a hairnet. Now, I can't say I really cared at the time, but post lunch, I do find it off. Overall, I really enjoyed the lunch and would like to return to try more menu items! 8/10 recommend read more

We were recently there in their 'group' room, and their pizza is just great! If the weather is good, you can sit outside and if you like sports there is always something on. I've been going there for several years and the quality has been maintained. read more

HUGE shout out to the red haired bartender (sorry for not remembering your name!). On our way back to Winnemucca my better half tells me about the best pizza place she's ever had. This is AFTER I take her to Dinos and Eclipse. So of coarse I tell her to bring it on. We pull in and immediately I think it's closed. Thank goodness it wasn't. It's a small joint that screams nostalgia everywhere you look. The pie is all home made. They have a dough press and a great salamander that cooks the pie, you even get a beer free with the pizza! My wife and I were fishing at the Rye Patch State Park today, and as we left the park, we decided to stop in for a bite to eat here. The bar was well decorated, and nice and quiet. They had two TV's on with the latest sports going on, and the inside has some cool stuff reminiscing of the west. Pizza seemed to be a big seller there, so we ordered one to eat on there. The pizza was really pretty good, actually. Not that I thought a lil' bar (and grub hub kinda place) would have a good pizza, but it really was good. Made fast. Made fresh! Girl knows how to Pizza UP! The owner was there, as was another patron. We blended into conversations with all, as they were very friendly. I'd stop by again, preferably when I'm not headed back to Fernley. That way, a drink or two would have been in order! And the waitress/bar maid, was really very nice. Tip well deserved! read more

AN ABSOLUTE GEM IN A SEA OF GOLD The Gold Diggers Saloon is a lovely little spot (for those who can enjoy it). Don't get me wrong, this place kicks butt, but it is not for the faint of heart. Erika, the bartender AND chef handles EVERYTHING. Beer, food, other drinks and unruly patrons. The food takes awhile to get done, but again, there's ONE person doing it all, and kicking butt at the same time. At least she's honest! Can't wait to be back! read more

We were driving back to California from Idaho on I-80. We stopped here because of the YELP reviews. The place is a cute rustic bar. We ordered the pizza and it was delicious! The waitress/cook was very friendly. The patrons of the bar were very nice and friendly too. Would have loved to stay and have a drink and play pool but we were driving. Darn it! Maybe next time. Definitely stop here again when we are in the area. read more

Still THE PLACE to go if you are hungry or thirsty near Lovelock, or just driving by and need a rest. We were on our way home to Reno from Yellowstone and this was our destination stop - nachos, good drinks, friendly staff and locals- exactly what we needed after a long, long drive. Again, we shared the nachos and had some drinks but the pizza sure did look yummy. read more

It is a long road between Reno and Elko. There are a few places to stop for food, but none quite like Gold Diggers. It is not far from highway 80, but feels remote. There is a bar, a restaurant, and an outdoor patio complete with outdoor bar, bbq, stage, and lots of seating area. We arrived mid-afternoon on a Friday and there was just one old-timer at the bar. Jenn, the server was very helpful and talked me into ordering a pizza (leftovers, yay!). Pizza comes with a free beer in a big frosty mug. Come check out the decor, taste the famous pizza, and have a cold one. If you arrive on an evening, I bet it is a real good time. read more

The woman working there told me there were three people she needed to make a sandwich for before me and that a pizza would take an additional half hour. This place is awesome. My buddy and I spent a week out at rye patch prospecting for gold. We stopped in at Gold Diggers for a pizza and some beer. The beer was poured into frosty mugs, crisp cold beer! Then came the Pizza, I never would have thought that the best pizza I would ever have, would come from the middle of the Nevada desert! It was amazing! Then, before I could ask, Dan puts a new frosty mug full of brew right in front of me. This continued all night. Not only can Dan make a seriously delicious pie, he's the best bartender in NV. I'll be going back in a few weeks for more gold, more beer and more of that pizza! read more

WHEN: Dec 31, 2015 New Years Eve Drove all the way from California and wasn't disappointed the slightest bit. Everyone was friendly, hospitable, the pizza was delicious, the cocktails were out of this world PERFECT, the bartender (owner) created custom made root beer flavored shots, Jolly Rancher shots, you were greeted with a tier of champagne glasses, the jukebox was updated with great music, it was nice and toasty inside while outside was below ZERO. We loved it and will definitely go back! This is really the best place to go in the area which is remote but beautiful. The four stars is taking into account distance and location. This place is in the middle of no where and still has excellent pizza and other food. Locally owned and has a lot of personality. They can handle larger groups of you call ahead. Pizza was not my favorite style but well executed. Pizza comes with free beer. Chicken strips are large but heavy on the batter. Only place to eat but kept quality and price in line. Will stop here again. read more

I love a good locals/dive bar and when we were passing through the area the pizza and beer offered by this remote gem sounded better than the plain roadtrip sandwiches and bottled water I had packed and boy am I sure glad we stopped! The atmosphere is divey but tidy, with beer signage and various memorbillia, and complete with a pellet fireplace, jukebox and cigarette vending machine ($6.75, most major brands) at 3 corners. It was a bit of a culture shock to find people smoking inside but eh, whatever, you know? We bellied up to the bar, were greeted with a smile (by the bartender who we realized later was the owner) and said we were here for the pizza and beer. Soon we had two Sierra Nevadas and a pepperoni pie on the way. Real pizza takes a minute, and this ain't no fast food restaurant, so tje wait might be a bit longer than most city folk care to suffer but honestly, you can't rush quality and trust me, the pizza is absolutely worth it! Classic pepperoni pizza done right: perfect crust, perfect sauce and amount of it, perfect pepperoni and the amount of it and perfect cheese - oh such cheese. The gooey, stretchy kind, piled on and baked crispy on the edges of crust. Turns out they mix cheddar and Jack with the mozzarella and omg I am doing this at home from now on. Great place in the middle of nowhere with locals whose chairs practically have their imprints in there talking crap about one another, drinking drafts and watching competitive fishing PLUS amazing, amazing pizza makes this one of the best bars I've ever been to in my life.
