Ended up trying the panini and, albeit simple, it was tasty. It's a little on the pricier side (sandwich is 12.95 plus tax) for what you get but happy to support a small business rather than give my money to a chain fast food restaurant. Compared to most of the eateries in Lovelock, Temptations is pretty good. Even just standing on its own without any comparisons, Temptations is pretty good. It took me a while to finally try this place due to their hours not jiving with my work schedule, but I was able to sneak in the other night. The employee working the counter was pleasant. She greeted me as soon as I walked in and guided me through the ordering process. If you're getting a Panini (which is what I did) or a wrap, they have you fill out this sheet stating which meats, veggies, cheeses, etc you want and they take that and go make it. They also serve ice cream (not sure if it's house made or not), different coffees, take and bake pizzas, local honey, and other little gifts and treats displayed throughout the lobby. The seating are was also nice. The only negative I'll say is the wait for a panini is fairly long. It took around 15-20 minutes for my two sandwiches to get made. It was fine because I wasn't in a hurry but if you are, you may want to skip it. Aside from that, it was great. I'll definitely return. read more

After a long day of driving 80 we needed to take a break and have some food. Instead of doing a corporate chain we looked up local places on Yelp. We still had four more hours of driving and not a lot of time to spare, but it's important to us to support locals. Temptations seemed to get good reviews, we should have read farther down, and it was sandwiches, so why not? I'll tell you why not. It took them 30 minutes to make two mediocre sandwiches after a confusing time trying to order. Our sandwiches finally arrived with a curt, sorry about the wait, no explanation. Which was weird because we were the only sandwich orders in the place and all the workers spent plenty of time walking around and looking out the window. The chicken panini was made from canned chicken? It did have fresh tomato and cucumber, as I said, it was mediocre. The service was curt and the main woman did not smile or thank us once. A local was there and she was nice enough to her. We bought over $60 worth of stuff and probably would have gotten some ice cream and coffees to go, but the vibe was not welcoming at all. The counter girl couldn't answer any questions, not even "what time do you close?", but her boss was pleasant and knowledgeable. The ice cream was not just Dryers today, they also had a more local creamery, I think it was from Montana. My husbands biggest beef was the electronic alert every time either door opened. After spending an hour here waiting for food and then eating it, that high pitched sound was pretty annoying! They had a lot of country Knick-knacks for sale. You're better off getting coffee at McDonald's, with less hostility, lower price, better quality. Strange interaction with the lady behind the counter -- she seemed a little put off by my questions about the coffee ("is it medium roast?"), then seemed to mock me when I asked where the "fixins" are. Hey, I'm trying to be friendly. "Sugar and cream?" she says, eyebrows rising way up. Then somehow we're in a minor dispute about me not wanting "room for cream" while wanting to know where the cream is. That's right, don't leave room. I only use a bit of cream. She really appears to disapprove, pours my cups from a drip coffee maker retrieved from the next room. It's a bit thin, below average for a McDonald's. Just stopped in for coffee. They use three shots in their Americanos, I was very pleased! The highway was making me tired! I saw the gal making sandwiches and boy I wished I was hungry. They looked very full before the veggies! Piled high with the meat. I asked for honey in my americano and she opened a jar of local honey. It doesn't get any better than that. I had to leave with a jar... sweetened perfectly and had the right amount of half and half. I told the guys outside waiting for their sandwiches they were lucky, their sandwiches looked awesome.
