What a fun atmosphere Gold Dust Pizza has! The chairs are big and comfortable. They offer a great lunch special including a slice of pepperoni pizza and a drink, or calzone and drink. We opted to share a specialty pizza however and loved that they would do half and half (we just added pepperoni to one side). I don't know if it was the food that was good or the day that made the food good. Went on a trip to moaning caverns that day. Went to Big Trees Park. Hung out at Murphy Park in the city of Murphy. While at Murphy's park, a red nose pit comes up to me and licks my face like he's known me for years and the crazy thing is he looked exactly like my dog Chilo who passed in 2004. On our way back home, while on the freeway, I seen a big building in the distance, kinda reminded me of back to the future town so I decided we should go check it out. Wow!! My toddler and I stopped here by chance on our way into Yosemite, and boy we were so happy we did. We ordered the Miner Moe's pizza and it was delicious. The crust was super crispy on the edges and tender with a nice bite, and the chicken/bacon/BBQ sauce combo was bomb. We got a small and still had a ton to takeaway, which we ate for lunch on our first day camping. The ranch for dipping also tasted very fresh - I assume it was made in house! The service was also unexpectedly great. My toddler is super rambunctious and the server Savannah made sure I felt comfortable letting him run around being his crazy self. The bartender Adrian was awesome and made a kickass Cadillac margarita. He provided the type of genuine service that makes you feel special and well taken care of! The quality of food and service is the type that keeps you coming back. The ambiance is also perfect, with comfy high-end indoor seating and a cute outdoor patio too. The pizza is great and the drinks are great! The service on the other hand is absolutely freaking tragic. We were looked at wrong for the fact that we were 10 people. We planned on tipping generously, but got looked at bad and not accounted for because we were 10; we planned on tipping greatly and we were told that we were only allowed to sit outside; at almost 90 degrees outside when we all got there. because they didn't want to open up the back room. There was no problem with any other customers that were helped; but we were a group of 10 and a Sunday night of all nights. They never moved the tables for us, and when we moved them to accommodate for all 10 of us, we got yelled at because "the tables were breaking". I'm sorry but if they aren't gonna accommodate for 10 people planned on tipping generously for allowing us in; we will not be happy, pizza is great but service when sitting in the restaurant is awful. When the customers in the restaurant have to accommodate the tables to fit 10; but we have to move the tables ourselves and get yelled at for it because "they are breaking" but need to be moved back when we are done makes no sense. Food is ok, kinda greasy pizza. My daughter loves the raviolis but they are not in house made. The service was pleasant and the ambiance is themed and fits well with the community. There's the rub though. As someone who lives in the community this establishment is not focused on serving the community. They have odd hours and are moderately geared towards tourists, which would be fine, but who closed a pizza joint at 8pm on a weekend? Who doesn't modify their hours during community events to support the influx of people? I watched over a dozen people leave or sit and wait at the last car show because they didn't open until noon on Saturday. My wife and I really enjoyed this place. We came on a Tuesday and sat at the bar. The World Series was on as our entertainment. We ordered a salad and a large veggie pizza with chicken. The salad was actually very good. The salads are premade and come in a to go container. It was not easy to eat, but very good. It is a decent size for the price. The dressing is out of a small packet, but still tasted good. My wife had a margarita and really enjoyed it. My beer was a local selection and very nice. The pizza was fantastic. Tons of ingredients and delicious sauce. Lots of cheese and great dough. They were doing an insane amount of to go orders. The restaurant was clean and if I lived closer I would be back many times. My only gripe was the service. She was very nice and we had a great conversation. But she was so busy prepping to go orders I never had a chance to get a second drink before the pizza arrived. You know, I used to praise the kids at Gold Dust for making a great pizza. But, today may 3, the day of the car show we were grossly disappointed. We ordered a giant (we were very hungry) 1/2 Gold Dust and half barbecue chicken. That pizza was so soggy that when you picked up a slice everything fell off. Too much cheese, bacon and other toppings made it soggy. Like I said we were hungry so we ate it. Especially since we waited for over an hour. How the mighty have fallen. Gold Dust Pizza in Copperopolis used to be a fantastic spot, but after last night's experience (11/29/24), I can confidently say I'll never spend my money there again. I arrived at 5:15 PM to meet a friend, and we chose to sit at the bar, hoping for quicker service. Unfortunately, the exact opposite happened. We sat for over 20 minutes, watching a steady stream of customers walk in and get helped before us. Eventually, our order was taken--a Gold Dust Combo pizza and wings. After 30 minutes, the wings finally arrived, and the pizza didn't come out for another 45 minutes. While the food itself was decent, the wait times were completely unreasonable. Honestly, I could make wings and pizza faster in my home kitchen. I overheard that the kitchen staff were feeling stressed, but it didn't seem any busier than a typical Friday night. Speaking with a few locals in the restaurant, I learned that others were experiencing the same poor service. One gentleman was even told his pizza had been lost and would need to be remade. Frustrated, he left without waiting another hour for a replacement. To make matters worse, my friend had to leave immediately after eating because his stomach began to churn--he was sure he was going to get diarrhea. After he left, I stayed to settle the bill, only to be ignored for another 30 minutes. I waved, tried to make eye contact, and even called out to staff, but no one acknowledged me. Finally, I loudly asked the manager for my credit card so I could leave. He seemed irritated that I interrupted his personal conversation with some friends who had shown up. Gold Dust Pizza has clearly gone downhill, run by staff who seem indifferent and unprofessional. I will NEVER return, and I can't stress enough how terrible the service is. What was once a great local spot is now a place to avoid. read more

Lives up to the hype. I wish I could give a 4.5 because it's on the fence. I would say within a 50 mile radius , this is the benchmark of pizza. Music in the background kinda sucks and the beer selection is limited, but it's all good from there. The pizza was outstanding with a crispy crust. I built my own pizza which can run a fortune in some places, but not here. Adrian behind the counter is very personable and a great asset to this establishment.
