Get lost on your way to Oroville!…read more We missed the left at Loma Rica and ended up wandering the countryside in search of sustenance. The Clover Cafe appeared like a mirage. Upon entering we met a cat named Felix behind the counter offering a genuine welcome, even going so far as to tell us he was glad we were there!!! (Authors note: we are originally from San Jose so you may understand our shock at this kind of friendliness). The vibe is community coffee house, with a side of bohemian. Local wines are featured along with a table of books by local authors. We ordered a blueberry tart, breakfast burritos and avocado toast. While we sipped our coffee, I was absolutely delighted to hear actual eggs crack and whipped in the kitchen. The avo toast was served on thick sliced whole wheat sourdough, homemade according to Felix, like almost every other baked good served. The eggs in the burrito were perfectly cooked, served with a delicious, fresh pico di gallo. This was overall a delightful detour, Felix and his warm welcome and attentive service being a highlight. If you're local, visit early and often and if you're within a 20 mile radius of this place, we highly recommend making The Clover a destination.

But each time I've tried to give this place a chance they have failed. Waste of so much money. The only reason it gets two stars is the young women who are working the front of the house. They are so kind and sweet, however not knowledgeable of the wine. It seems ironic to have local vineyards and cannot taste some of the wines by the glass? Also, the "local" wineries are private or you have to have an appointment!? Phone numbers do not work. And the only place to "taste" the wine is Clover Cafe? Very odd and not normal coming from the Bay Area/Napa. "Renaissance wine" what's up with your wine? And that vineyard. Weird vibes and the lady at the gate when protecting this vineyard told me to go to Clover Cafe and made us seem like we couldn't afford the wine at their "private" winery! Weird. The restaurant when you pull up is on the corner of the main road and has lots of parking, the inside of the restaurant and outside are pretty nice! Lots of space. However; the food takes 20-30 minutes to come out and when it comes out the presentation is not appealing, and the food from the menu described is not what is served. The BBQ pork sandwich was soggy. And the fries over cooked. The breaded chicken sandwich was also sloppy and is bigger than the bun. The tomales Bay blue cheese spinach and walnut salad is only spinach with crumbles of blue cheese and walnuts and dressing sloped all over the place. It had minimal flavor. The barbecue sauce on the barbecue slider was also had a strong vinegar taste. The wine was not good, it was very pricy as well. The wine tastes like old wood and had other little pieces of debris flowing in it because the glasses were dirty and had spots all over them and that has happened to me each time. I have ordered wine here twice. This is based on giving them a second chance. Being that this is supposed to be "an upscale restaurant" for the town you would think that they would keep things clean and make sure they are everything. Also, the town has a weird vibe in Oregon Town. Like I said the young women working are the only thing keeping the customer service and place alive. I definitely will not be coming back to Oregon House being this second/3rd experience was the worst. Sadly this seems like they pick and choose the chosen and everything is private property. Will not be back in Oregon house.

The place was quaint in a very small town. On the inside, paintings and other interesting art scattered the walls, a few tables and a restroom with a fun bathtub garden. The display case at the front counter (where are you order food) featured some appetizing grab and go treats and bites such as peaches and cream muffins, various cookies, lemon bars, potato and a curry chicken salad. The woman at the counter was friendly and helpful with her recommendations. I had the NSJ Panini which was very tasty, it came with fries and coleslaw. I enjoyed everything. I ordered the lemon bar which was ok, a little tackier (sticky) than what I prefer but the flavor was nice. I was impressed by all of the smoothie and juice selections. They looked, well crafted and inviting. The next time I find myself in the area, I will definitely return for one of the salads and a smoothie!

They don't split the bill, but if you're in a group, you can pay separately at the register and just tell them what you ordered. Food-wise, the loco moco was the weakest dish for me. It was basically a hamburger patty cooked well done. It would be better if they made their own patties or gave an option for medium instead of well done. My ribeye was pretty good, the pot roast was solid, and the Asian chicken dish was okay. The artichoke and bread appetizer was actually really good. Overall, it's a decent spot inside the casino, good for a casual meal, just expect simple food and slightly slower service.

(I…read moreonce tried black bear diner and it was actually some of the worst and most disappointing American breakfast food I've ever had) The chicken fried steak is INCREDIBLE. The steak itself is so flavorful and juicy. The gravy is beautiful (an excellent roux, not clumpy, doesn't have too much flour, perfectly balanced in velvety decadence). Eggs over easy perfectly cooked two days in a row! And the side fruit was actually very fresh and good! The home fries were good but I personally preferred the hash browns. Crispy on the outside, good ratio so it's cooked properly throughout, not too oily. And the banana foster waffle???? this is America the Beautiful. I don't know how to describe how good and sweet but somehow not overpoweringly sweet this was (I'm someone with a deep sweet tooth for decadent, dense desserts, none of that "not too sweet" classic asian vibe). This waffle is like a doting grandparents' love of spoiling their grandchildren with treats you can only get in nostalgic dreams. It definitely doesn't need any of the additional butter/maple toppings that come with it. It's perfect the way it is. And a PERFECT sweet pairing to savory chicken fried steak breakfast if you can share with someone Service is super friendly, great! Everything very clean. Great playlists. The outside of the restaurant smells like casino but I didn't think the inside smelled like casino, which was nice.

Visited March 25 2026...see my receipt…read more After driving into Yuba City we decided to get a lemonade before having lunch at the City Cafe. It was a way to relax alittle and let my puppy out for a bit. My girlfriend had told me about this place..decadent coffees and desserts! The coffee specials are so unique! I had already had a cup of coffee earlier at Starbucks so lemonade sounded refreshing ( and it was!). It's cute inside and has outdoor seating on the right side of the building which is dog friendly! Comfortable seating and cool music in the background. Nice vibes and pleasant people inside! Will definitely be back!

The drink had such a strong artificial/chemical like smell to it. I noticed the smell as soon as grabbed it and was alarmed. I was hoping it was coming from something else but confirmed it was from my drink. The taste itself seemed fine, by that I mean it didn't taste like I was drinking anything that would kill me, but I couldn't get over the smell and ended up tossing most of it. Hoping it was just a one off thing, and it would've been a better experience if I just ordered a plain latte. Since I'm not from the area, I didn't want to rate it too low. It was extremely busy on a late weekday morning though, so I'm sure my opinion wouldn't impact business. There was some couch, table and bar table seating. There wasn't anywhere out of the way to stand since it was so busy. They do have an outdoor patio with a few more tables. Service was average, but they were very busy and perhaps overwhelmed. I personally wouldn't be back, but that shouldn't stop you from giving them a try yourself!
